my youtube recommended is back to the bi-yearly fallout 4 trend
It's a good trend!
@@WillowPlaysGames hey just to let you know automatic weapons in fallout 4 are actually weaker than semi automatic weapons dunno why but it is
_You too, ey?_
Same lmao
You can’t complain about that though
Really, the Fallout series is VERY campy in some of the best ways. Brains in jars and literal Lovecraft stuff? Plus actual ghosts and aliens? It's fun. So a self help book that actually works perfectly.
You know what, you sold me on it lol
And radiation either turns people into zombies or gives them super powers.
Yup, the book works perfectly out
A couple of xp tricks: with the first lvl in chemistry you can craft poisonous spikes to sell back for other steel, and you can go to the drive in for a lot of early steel to craft some, qnd you can craft rubber carpets at the first gas station by recycling all the tires and then recycle back all the carpets till you run out of rubber, you can easily start the game from lvl 7-8 with 8+ int or idiot savant
Idiot savant :D
@BOS_Sentinel i do it but i leave some wood just in case for building
Corvega assembly plant is my usual trip. It's a early game dungeon, so the enemies are (comparably) weak. And there is lots of steel, alu, screws, etc.
Your pacing and presentation in this one was flawless. I hate gameplay challenges where the players just read their quest logs aloud while we barely see how they did what.
Thank you for the kind comment!
I didn't notice I was watching for 55 minutes until it ended, it was amazing ngl
@@WillowPlaysGames I think this might have been more of a challenge without the weaponsmith mod. You could do it vanilla Survival but allow yourself only to collect base weapons and armour. Not able to use them unless you strip all items mods and replace them with your own crafted mods.
With the weaponsmith mod loaded it's harder to relate to for people like me who never use that mod.
@@WillowPlaysGames I did love this video though.
You move encumbered a lot - did you not take encumbrance damage with it being Survival?
I was watching this on my TV and the "This is so sad, Alexa, play Despacito" set off the family alexa 💀
Lmao
Same
Lmao
That’s funny bro ☠️
Hell yeah, new upload! Good to see you've found a niche in fallout challenges. I think doing a playthrough only using fire weapons would be fun to see.
ty for the suggestion!
I know this is late but would the Shishkebab count? Even though it doesn't have the incendiary effect it is a fire sword
@@unusual_sandwich for sure. It was the first weapon I thought of
Tips:
1, when a mission says to clear an area of enemies, that usually just means killing the boss. So for the Tenpines Bluff 'clear Corvega' mission you can kill whoever you want outside, sneak in, snipe Jared, then sneak back out to get the reward. Then return later to actually kill them all (and whatever generic boss spawns in his place) some other time.
2, in runs like this, get the scrapper perk before others, so you get more gears and springs and stuff to craft with.
3, automatic is horrible low damage, really only good when you have legendary effects that do fixed extra damage per shot, like the explosive effect on the spray and pray. if you get that on a legendary pipe gun, make a pipe submachinegun and it's one of the best weapons in the game. Otherwise a pipe bolt action rifle sniper, with a combat knife for melee should do you well.
Oh god I’m so glad you used a mod for this. When I saw the title I thought you were going to use the weapon forge from Contraptions. No one needs to inflict that pain on themselves. Great video man!
Don't know if you'll see this but one thing I've just done for a challenge myself is taking after one of the Nuka world dlc raider gangs and only using gear that they have or incorporate their unique alliance perk for gaining their trust it was super hard to get into Nuka world at level one and then sneakily kill one of the raiders but overall it was a nice run once it got going.
This one sounds like it’ll be really hard at first, then get easier as you go. This would make a good weekly series
it got a lot a lot easier as it went along.
@@WillowPlaysGames ngl you’re comment about the you’re special book both makes sense and not seeing as how you could’ve brought up the crazy perks or other things like bobble heads making you smarter or stronger and same with comic books making you better at melee Fallout is a wild game tbh
Even when I'm using other things to level up, I'll always make at least one row of wooden fences as an homage to Paul from the Mitten Squad, good to know you do the same.
I feel like the Automiton DLC really added to the challenge. Even without mods, they would have pulled their weight in Vanilla.
Thanks for pointing me here. Another excellent adventure. Have you considered a Throwables only challenge? Grenades get pretty op by the later levels but I love to see the mortar Grenades used to great affect. Keep up the good work.
We'll See! I have a ton of ideas now thanks to comments! I'm glad you enjoyed ^^
I look away for one minute, and the next thing I know, Despacito is blasting on my Alexa dot. HOW DARE YOU!!! 😂😂😂
Comments like these make my day
I’m sorry, you didn’t actually craft your body that used the weapons, so I’ll need you to redo this. Thanks
Your mom din
That's character creation
I would say the biggest problem you had was probably with crafting auto weapons , ammo efficiency and dmg wise , but yes a good ratatata does make the soul feel nice.
Yeah, I tend to stick with pistols until I get the carry weight to switch to rifles, and only go full auto once I can get a steady supply of ammo. And guns that use different ammo so I can cycle if I get low on something.
Nice thing about doing a playthrough that is not challenge based is the fact that you can use what ever you want / find / craft tho as the time passed I usually just stick to one weapon tipe , the hardest one soo far is melee@@HappyBeezerStudios
ADA! YOU SHOULD'VE KEPT HER AND JUST EDITED HER. I ALWAYS PUT ASSAULTRON STUFF ON HER BECAUSE SHE'S COOL. Also the automatic 10mm is garbage
@willow You asked the difference between the Triggermen and Raiders; Triggermen are much more organized which is why they call it "Organized Crime." Raiders are far less cohesive, often killing one another over drugs and other petty squabbles as well as... other... amenities.
The settlers at Tenpines Bluff don't always send you to Corvega to kill raiders, sometimes they will send you to the BADTFL building near Bunker Hill instead. When it comes to the Corvega location however, you only have to kill the raiders inside of the building, inside the main assembly floor where the protectron is to accomplish your mission.
Correction, only the enemy marked with the quest icon is required. Same with in Skyrim
The place is also full of useful loot for a crafting run.
Honestly a Really underrated content Creator. Keep it up my man. :D love your previous vids and just sitting down for this one.
I plan to keep it up! And thanks ^^
I believe there's a mod that makes the game overflow with excessive numbers of feral ghouls which I think would be pretty fun to try beating on survival
I now believe that Codsworth watches cartoons.
Past two videos have been blowing up. Congratulations, your content quality is deserving of it!
Thanks!
I’m 274 hours into a commonwealth fat cat survival run, seeing you make survival videos helps me realize… I don’t have to torture myself for entertainment.
lmao nice!
You know, most FO4 play thrus are hard for me to sit thru for more than a few minutes. I mean: Been there, done that...a million times.
But this was actually fun to watch! All of it!
so you gained a sub
Glad you enjoyed!
100% calling them budbloogs from now on
I think a throwable/trap only run would be fun, if painful to see.
Thanks for the suggestion!
i def heard “my wast wun with only pipe wepons “ i started laughing hysterically
My biggest problem with Fo4 has always been settlement management, creating settlements that are big enough to handle large charisma builds but also keep people from constantly "pissing outside the litterbox" in anger so to speak. Let's face it Fo4 npc's are basically cats you feed, water and make sure they're entertained but otherwise leave alone lol. Still few things are more frustrating than leaving say deadmans ally for a week with 10 beds and coming home to 30 vagrants who've now decide they hate you so much they're not yours anymore. :p
OMG I totally agree! Especially because:
1. There's so many settlements that it becomes hard to manage at a certain point, and honestly hard to care when one settlement complains about their happiness but you have about 30 other ones to manage
2. In survival mode, you can't fast travel, so in a normal playthrough you could just pop back in and make them some extra beds, but in survival you have to make it a whole trip.
Gotta manage your beacons. Turn it off at any settlement after you have a few people until you can build them up properly. I typically max out all the other settlements, but Hangman I typically keep under 10 or 12. And never, ever make Hangman your trade hub. I made that mistake once and always had to deal with a half a dozen brahmin in those narrow entries.
codsworth is the firend who doesnt have a job but does all the house chores for his stay, spent 200 years cleanign the house while you were gone thats some dedication (even if it didnt end up working)
I think your use of mods was perfect for this run. It was just enough to make it fun
If you focus on gun nut, science and the blacksmith/armorer perks (and have the contraptions workshop builds), it is super easy to swiftly begin producing heavy armor, guass and plasma rifles, and food items.
It is literally the 1st think I do in any game. Of course, I have the little paper resource item that gives you 35000 of every crafting build material, so I level up making jet and cocktails. If you have the chem lab ammo craft mod, that gets you all the ammo you need and a few more levels.
Start a new game, and get up to run speed fast. As often as I start one, I use Skip 111 to just avoid that mess. It keeps me from rage quitting the game when my save files get corrupted. You can just delete these mods once you get going and...there you go. Less annoying crash protocols...😅
awesome video, say have you ever considered doing a playthrough as a raider? like using only raider based weapons, clothing and/or power armor?
regular base-game raiders, or do nuka world raiders count? because the nuka world raiders have some pretty good gear, like the disciple blade and handmade AK.
@@manboy4720 Both are considered raiders, so yeah. However I think its hard to get the nuka world stuff without glitches or bugs when its on survival mode.
This would be interesting.
I got a challange for you.
Wacky Invention Settlement Defense....
For the challange, play the base game as you see fit...
For defending your settlements, you must try to build strange gauntlets, turrets and etc at any settlement you build up, to eliminate hostiles....
You can even hunt using cages....
I thougjt of this because my old method of using a baseball pitcher, and peppering a field in explosives.
Hint this means that....
You can have one set of multiple pitchers on one circuit, to lay down a mine field with a button press, and have more circuits on whole other sets to pepper enemies with gernades.....
And for fun, have the Batter Up mod to use a baseball bat to sent gernade away fro. You, and the Blue 42 mod for launching nukes like a quarterback and catching them bare handed....
There is just something special about a pitcher sputting out 20 gernades in like 3 seconds....
But do not let that stop you.... make more machines to destroy your enemies
Glad to have another Fallout 4 challenge runner to look forward too. Great vids mate, cheers!
Welcome aboard!
Fun Fact!
You gain a metric of rep points with Nick if you’re consistently sassy with him but when shit gets real you’re compassionate with him.
Will max you out with reputations or get damn close if you then.
And from that point on you’ll gain rep bonus with Nick while being sarcastic instead of losing rep.
OMG Thank you for uploading, please do a baseball bat playthrough 😊
I don't plan to stop :D and maybe! after the experience with melee in this run I'm afraid of a melee only run xD but We'll see!
Psycho-jet and baseball bat is one of my favorite runs
Willow: "Time to learn how to use this new crafting workbench mod!!!"
Contraptions DLC: "Am I a joke to you?!!?"
Liked the video especially the length :) as someone who plays a lot of survival and watches a lot I think you should put more into endurance.. take it out of strength or something. Endurance effects how much hp you gain per level and is not retroactive, also life giver is just better then toughness plus you gain rank 3 super early and health regen is great. A point or two into toughness is nice though because it’s free head armor. Also dense and padded can be stacked making you almost invincible to explosions or get asbestos lining to protect you from pesky Molotovs
Thanks for the info. I have played hundreds of hours on survival and always tend to ignore crafting. I did this run to try and make myself do it more! I learned a lot and love comments teaching me lil bits and bobs like this one!
I don't know if its a good idea, but you could theoretically could do something similiar with contraptiones dlc. I know its not the most popular dlc but i found it useful in survival, because you could craft ammo, weapons and armor without mods. Especially Crafting 10mm and 45 caliber. It also helped with equipping all settlers with combat rifles in the early game, where combat rifles are pretty rare.
Can you beat fallout 4 without being detected?
by enemies? or in general? does going into caution count as detected?
Ava: i'm trying to follow you, vault dweller, but my trunk compartment is heavy metal, and the clap of my ass servos is alerting the raiders in half of boston.
Found your channel through your pipe weapon only run and I have to say you already produce some quality content. I would love to see you give a heavy weapons only run a try survival difficulty. At first I thought it would be a cake walk but it turned out to be a lot harder. If you want more of challenge you can exclude the minigun since it does make the early game a breeze.
Thanks for the suggestion!
To make it more difficult exclude the true infinite ammo one from the brotherhood exile in nuka world
9:02 I will be calling them Budbloogs for the rest of my life now lmao.
There’s never enough DAKKA
Da oomies fear da DAKKA
Hey Willow, i do have an idea for a next run :
"The best friends", you can only use your compagnon's damage to progress, Rules : you cannot change their weapons, you can give them armors so they last longer, drugs are allowed to only escape if your compagnon fall to the ground and you don't have stimpacks, and turrets in settlements are not allowed to do any damage, altho, you can use the damage of the people of your settlements like defense so you can heal or do stuff, perks are allowed to buff you compagnons,
VERY IMPORTANT : YOU CAN ONLY PUCH CREATURE TO KILL THEM OR TO GAIN XP WHEN IT IS MAYBE A BOSS ! (with only your hands, not with boxing gloves or things like that) you can change compagnon any times you want. Important starting stuff, you can use anything to get your first compagon for exemple, preston.
If you will do the run and you get stuck at one point that i didn't precised, you can decide of what you want.
I hope you like this idea and thank you if you do the run, have a great day and glhf with the run or other runs ^-^ :D😃
I like the idea but too many times, may workshop it and make it simpler
@@WillowPlaysGames oh huh i don't really know how to do that, but that's my idea but maybe i'll try
For the future, when Horizon 2.0 (mod) comes out, it should make for a great challenge run if you focus on using crafted stuff again :)
Delirium is pretty good too.
17:32 - You forget one important detail. "General" is a honorary title as you are still told to do grunt work instead of commanding the troops which will magically materialize later.
Yep, Blitz would've made this run go quicker.
Helen assists us through Hell'n'High water is an underappreciated joke
should have taken a male avatar and named yourself macgyver...
LMAOOOO 🤣 I think it's hilarious how you call the baby "tiny roommate." I'm stealing this. 😂
Yes police, right here! I found the thief!
There is a mod that automatically removes ammo from guns on corpses and adds it to the corpse's inventory. Guess how it's named? "Remove Ammo from Dropped Guns" :) Neil deGrasse Tyson vibes.
What if you did a challenge run using only legendary items?
Maybe we'll find out!
you could also make the challenge harder by making every enemy legendary
@@roenickgray8948 true and it will make getting more legendaries as well as really upping the difficulty and if you want you can count uniques as well
when you said "alexa, play despacito" it made mine play it
I'll be honest, I would've subscribed the first time you asked, but then you mentioned it two or three more times and I'm like... I like what I'm hearing but this is getting a little annoying. Just a bit of advice, cut it to once and you'll be set. Good work 👏
Youre criminally underrated. Youre going to blow up soon homie, cant wait to see your success
The kellogg memory bit is the embodiment of "this couldve been an email"
Caltrops are crafted items. Try reverse pick pocketing them! On survival stealth and pickpocketing is a strategy. Automatrons can be crafted! Shelving is crafting so you can be level 14 before leaving Sanctuary. You need a lot of luck and idiot savant though so 9 might be more likely.
Strong back to make fewer trips and getting crippled by over weight is important. Join the Railroad for ballistic weave and minutemen for arty.
Turrets and traps! Every settlement you use needs them!
You have to craft feed troughs to get fertilizer for ammo and explosives.
You obviously used a companion to keep crafted and looted separate! Easy. Also name everything using all caps!
You would have been better off doing a crafted weapons and ammo run. Also armour? Running around in undies is undignified but doable.
Scrapper solves the screw shortage.
Melee needs Blitz and Big leagues to be effective. Expensive so I shelve or fence post a lot.
I'm a little surprised you didn't take an perks in explosives, as that would allow you to craft explosives at the chemistry station. A few grenades could have helped out as you went.
"I need to try to find a way to not die to that explosion."
Have you... tried not standing next to it?
I see you eventually figured it out.
and then you forgot again by the end, lmao.
“Shaun was behind on rent” got me
I thought it was a funny bit :D
I got a challenge recommendation for you. Do a survival playthrough with a weapon condition mod and choose a random settlement to start at and play as a NPC (no quests, no story) and see how far/powerful you can become just surviving off the land. A real "lone survivor" playthrough". Do it 100 days (in game) at a time. Smaller less important missions (quests that you don't portray you as the important plot armor guy are ok since NPCs aren't completely useless/ storyless) and no companions that are too important, ex: dogmeat, MacCready, Strong, Cait, etc.
Could you consider the manufacturing plants as ‘crafting’?
I was wondering where did budbloogs come from, now it makes sense xD
You have the persistance of John Wick goddamn, full props to you.
I never knew you could find skinny in the commonwealth after that quest, its pretty funny
If you're wanting to use robots in another challenge to defend the castle, if I recall, if you have the robot follow you, then tell them to go to the castle, they should be marked as essential. At least that's what I was able to piece from it in my last playthrough
My Alexa very proudly started blasting Despacito when you said this 😂 19:56
That was the goal lmao
Challenge suggestion try beating fallout 4 with only weapons that use 5mm ammo. ( you can add a mod or two that add 5mm using weapons because in fallout 4 the mini gun is the only weapons that uses 5mm ammo )
This is a cool one, kind of like a fallout 4 iron man challenge.
Even if you couldn't use non crafted Weapons or things what you can is scrap them for materials. That would have help a lot with this challenge and solve at least partially with the lack of materials. Also if you wanted it more challenging you can individually take objects ignoring non crafted things that you couldn't scrap
After seeing you leave Sanctuary with a primo melee weapon (The Sledgehammer!!), I thought it was going to be smooth sailing. I run mostly Survival melee builds, and that weapon can carry you. But that’s where a starting SPECIAL makes all the difference. You were ages away from getting the Rooted/Blitz combo. While the combo isn’t necessary, a no-VATS melee build is likely Power Armor/Party Girl/Chemist.
My overall philosophy is such: a Survival starting SPECIAL should have a strong combat focus, and leave other areas weak, to be filled in. Here’s what i would’ve tried for your challenge (S9P?E?C3I?A9L1: w/3 points TBD). I normally take Blacksmith first or second, anyway, with Blitz, Rooted, Lone Wanderer, and Armorer. I don’t like pure melee, so for this run, I left 3 points to be determined: depending if you went Demolition Expert or Gun Nut, and either Fertilizer or Lead is your scarce resource. Your melee is going to be very strong with this build, so I might go Demolition Expert for crafting the occasionally useful fragmentation grenades and mines.
If you were to forego melee for guns, I works try a VATS build, instead of commando, to better manage ammunition usage. I might go with S4P9E1C3I3A7L1. This will give you Penetrator, and soon, Concentrated Fire and Speedy Reload.
Personally, I would go melee/Explosives for this run. That way you’re always strong, and not deal with ammo.
I must live through these videos, my system can barely handle fallout 4 so I can't even attempt survivor mode
I found that standing next to the workbench and dropping all the junk on the floor and then scrapping it reduces the weight and allows you to carry more materials.
before you save nick you can gie mama murphy jet and she will tell you to tell skinny to remember the quarry so you can just skip having the charisma
Oh that's dope
12:37
This is what happens when you play FO4 on Survival difficulty without power armor. Expect to die. A lot.
Initially I didn't want to use power armor because I thought fusion cores could ONLY be found in those generators like in the basement of the Museum of Freedom, but eventually someone online told me that there's basically infinite fusion cores in the game. Some merchants renew their stock every 3 days or so, you can get them from Sentrybots, and also 4 cores will randomly spawn inside ammo boxes from time to time. Plus, you can build level 3 weapons merchants at any settlement (well, not the Airport anyhow...) and then you can purchase fusion cores from your settlements. I tend to get one at every location, though I'm so good at finding cores that I rarely purchase any.
Survival difficulty, it's hard enough WITH power armor. Without power armor... well, that basically cranking the difficulty up to 11. It's Survival: Nightmare Mode. And a reminder, when you play Survivor difficulty you can ONLY save at beds that are not owned. You need to sleep for at least one hour, and then you save. So every time he dies at the Museum of Freedom he needs to go through the WHOLE damn thing again, and then the deathclaw.
Brutal stuff... ever since I got the hang of power armor, my game starts with Red Rocket, the mole rat den underneath for a fusion core, the mole rats on the hill nearby to the northeast, then the raiders and dogs after that, pretty sure I then go to the robot scrap yard for another fusion core, and finally the vertibird near that Olivia station where you get the Abernathy locket. THEN I can go to Concord already in power armor, and if I jump onto the vertibird from the top of the church I can get the minigun and get some unique dialogue.
That's how I start every run, every damn time. Not very realistic, especially given I also start with 1 luck, but man SCREW redoing Concord over and over from scratch!
I don't have an idea for a run, but I do enjoy the suffering! Liked and subbed, keep the pain rolling.
The background for the rules section is kinda like one of those magic eye posters since if you unfocus your eyes the pattern stays the day but gives a false impression of depth.
Budbloogs my favorite enemy in fallout 4 😂
A challenge thatd be fun would be "The little Leaguer" No vats, no power armor, only the baseball uniform, a baseball cap, baseball bat (all variants) and baseball grenades.
there are three holotape recordings in the facility that will let you unlock the elevator that lets you come down in behind the mechanist so you can talk your way out of that fight compleatly.
Everytime you name something it's like you're an orc from Warhammer 40K and it makes me chuckle
Looking forward to the run including only crafted healing items aswell
Those sarcastic lines kill me every time 😂😂😂😂😂
The easiest way to take Hangman's Alley is by going through the building with the mutants and over the rooftops. You can look down into the alley and take the raiders out with Molotovs.
An intersting and rage inducing challenge could be zombie apocolyse mod and pipe guns only to be the game
8:06 We are one screw short.... funny, I've had that said about me as well.
LOL
I LOVE YOUR VIDS BRO i respect how much work you put into you vids everything you do is clear you pace is great your doing great work please keep it up 👍👍👍👍
Thanks, will do!
im dying laughing 😅😭😂😂

It's free! Jus thit the sub button! Or if you want live willow comedy check out the channel membership for tens of hours of Livestream antics
Now thats commintment , walking all the way encumbered ❤
Have you tried an explosives only run? Grenades, rockets, legendaries with explosive ammo maybe?
For later challenge, in the Mechanist dungeon if you have too much trouble with the boss gauntlet you just have to back track while searching for three holotapes then play them beside an elevator near the dungeon entrance to surprise them by behind by entering the command room by the back door. less of a climatic battle but does the job. maybe do it in a challenge run where the answer to success is "be a sneaky sneaker".
The first fallout 4 game i played i sided with the minutemen. After about a year and a half the ps4 i was borrowing needed to go back to its owner, i had about 4 hours of modded castle warfair befor having all the npcs and me die
This was amazing, I almost passed for a few times, it was just satisfying
glad you enjoyed!
"Our Husband and tiny roommate"
Brilliant
thanks!
Love the videos man keep it up
Nice video mate. Got a few tips for you, If you scrap everything in sanctuary (And Red Rocket Truck Shop) and do a trick called shelve spamming (just spam build shelves into each other) you can start the game at about lvl 10-14. Also I'd like to see you take on this game with only legendary weapons. Or try to complete it by only damaging enemies with the pain train perk.
Rare RUclips recommended W. Finally recommends me some good content.
So OSRS has a game mode called Ironman, with a similar premise! I played a Skyrim play through with this same kind of game plan once mods came to the Console. It’s such an interesting way to play a game, makes something so grindy lol this was such a fun watch
