A couple of xp tricks: with the first lvl in chemistry you can craft poisonous spikes to sell back for other steel, and you can go to the drive in for a lot of early steel to craft some, qnd you can craft rubber carpets at the first gas station by recycling all the tires and then recycle back all the carpets till you run out of rubber, you can easily start the game from lvl 7-8 with 8+ int or idiot savant
Corvega assembly plant is my usual trip. It's a early game dungeon, so the enemies are (comparably) weak. And there is lots of steel, alu, screws, etc.
Your pacing and presentation in this one was flawless. I hate gameplay challenges where the players just read their quest logs aloud while we barely see how they did what.
@@WillowPlaysGames I think this might have been more of a challenge without the weaponsmith mod. You could do it vanilla Survival but allow yourself only to collect base weapons and armour. Tips: 1, when a mission says to clear an area of enemies, that usually just means killing the boss. So for the Tenpines Bluff 'clear Corvega' mission you can kill whoever you want outside, sneak in, snipe Jared, then sneak back out to get the reward. Then return later to actually kill them all (and whatever generic boss spawns in his place) some other time. 2, in runs like this, get the scrapper perk before others, so you get more gears and springs and stuff to craft with. 3, automatic is horrible low damage, really only good when you have legendary effects that do fixed extra damage per shot, like the explosive effect on the spray and pray. if you get that on a legendary pipe gun, make a pipe submachinegun and it's one of the best weapons in the game. Otherwise a pipe bolt action rifle sniper, with a combat knife for melee should do you well.

1:12 "Number one! Still!
...actually, if this mod requires you to have both the gun nut perk and the blacksmith perk *just to craft a gun,* then the Contraptions Workshop DLC is actually a (slightly) faster and more efficient route. You just need gun nut to both make the crafting bench, and then use that crafting bench to make your first gun. If you then spend your second perk on the Science! perk, you can then make the ammunition plant and start making bullets for said gun. So, leveling up a second time will rely almost exclusively on gun bashing, but still.

My biggest problem with Fo4 has always been settlement management, creating settlements that are big enough to handle large charisma builds but also keep people from constantly "pissing outside the litterbox" in anger so to speak. Let's face it Fo4 npc's are basically cats you feed, water and make sure they're entertained but otherwise leave alone lol. Still few things are more frustrating than leaving say deadmans ally for a week with 10 beds and coming home to 30 vagrants who've now decide they hate you so much they're not yours anymore. :p
OMG I totally agree! Especially because: 1. There's so many settlements that it becomes hard to manage at a certain point, and honestly hard to care when one settlement complains about their happiness but you have about 30 other ones to manage 2. In survival mode, you can't fast travel, so in a normal playthrough you could just pop back in and make them some extra beds, but in survival you have to make it a whole trip.
Gotta manage your beacons. Turn it off at any settlement after you have a few people until you can build them up properly. I typically max out all the other settlements, but Hangman I typically keep under 10 or 12. And never, ever make Hangman your trade hub. I made that mistake once and always had to deal with a half a dozen brahmin in those narrow entries.

Endurance effects how much hp you gain per level and is not retroactive, also life giver is just better then toughness plus you gain rank 3 super early and health regen is great. A point or two into toughness is nice though because it’s free head armor. Also dense and padded can be stacked making you almost invincible to explosions or get asbestos lining to protect you from pesky Molotovs

I’m not sure on this so it could placebo, but don’t guns with a slower fire rate generally have more damage per bullet? I feel it might have helped early on with ammo consumption
Oh yeah, automatic weapons have horrible Damage per bullet. I knew that before starting the run. The automatics thing was a unstated self imposed challenge I added for myself.
Hey Willow, i do have an idea for a next run : "The best friends", you can only use your compagnon's damage to progress, Rules : you cannot change their weapons, you can give them armors so they last longer, drugs are allowed to only escape if your compagnon fall to the ground and you don't have stimpacks, and turrets in settlements are not allowed to do any damage, altho, you can use the damage of the people of your settlements like defense so you can heal or do stuff, perks are allowed to buff you compagnons, VERY IMPORTANT : YOU CAN ONLY PUCH CREATURE TO KILL THEM OR TO GAIN XP WHEN IT IS MAYBE A BOSS ! (with only your hands, not with boxing gloves or things like that) you can change compagnon any times you want. Important starting stuff, you can use anything to get your first compagon for exemple, preston. If you will do the run and you get stuck at one point that i didn't precised, you can decide of what you want. I hope you like this idea and thank you if you do the run, have a great day and glhf with the run or other runs ^-^ :D😃
Technically speaking you could have done this without a mod, as it would be an explosives and caltrops only run, since you can craft those. it would have been harder, but using a mod to just craft whatever armor and weapons you want is a little less interesting to me. You also use items you didn't craft, your aid items. Even if you didn't use a mod for the sledgehammer, you still technically failed as you used looted aid items you didn't craft.
I don't know if its a good idea, but you could theoretically could do something similiar with contraptiones dlc. I know its not the most popular dlc but i found it useful in survival, because you could craft ammo, weapons and armor without mods. Especially Crafting 10mm and 45 caliber. It also helped with equipping all settlers with combat rifles in the early game, where combat rifles are pretty rare.
Ava: i'm trying to follow you, vault dweller, but my trunk compartment is heavy metal, and the clap of my ass servos is alerting the raiders in half of boston.
Random thought but It's a bit stupid how the wooden fences dont give you screws..Mf those fences dont just stay together magically- Either screws or nails, but nooo, just wood
If you focus on gun nut, science and the blacksmith/armorer perks (and have the contraptions workshop builds), it is super easy to swiftly begin producing heavy armor, guass and plasma rifles, and food items. It is literally the 1st think I do in any game. Of course, I have the little paper resource item that gives you 35000 of every crafting build material, so I level up making jet and cocktails. If you have the chem lab ammo craft mod, that gets you all the ammo you need and a few more levels. Start a new game, and get up to run speed fast. As often as I start one, I use Skip 111 to just avoid that mess. It keeps me from rage quitting the game when my save files get corrupted. You can just delete these mods once you get going and...there you go. Less annoying crash protocols...😅
17:32 - You forget one important detail. "General" is a honorary title as you are still told to do grunt work instead of commanding the troops which will magically materialize later.
If you're wanting to use robots in another challenge to defend the castle, if I recall, if you have the robot follow you, then tell them to go to the castle, they should be marked as essential. At least that's what I was able to piece from it in my last playthrough
I'm a little surprised you didn't take an perks in explosives, as that would allow you to craft explosives at the chemistry station. A few grenades could have helped out as you went.

I mean TECHNICALLY speaking you shouldn't have used the pipboy either since you didnt craft it like the vault suit, but jokes aside great video like always
"I need to try to find a way to not die to that explosion."
Have you... tried not standing next to it?
I see you eventually figured it out.
and then you forgot again by the end, lmao.
The kellogg memory bit is the embodiment of "this couldve been an email"
Hey Willow, i do have an idea for a next run :
"The best friends", you can only use your compagnon's damage to progress, Rules : you cannot change their weapons, you can give them armors so they last longer, drugs are allowed to only escape if your compagnon fall to the ground and you don't have stimpacks, and turrets in settlements are not allowed to do any damage, altho, you can use the damage of the people of your settlements like defense so you can heal or do stuff, perks are allowed to buff you compagnons,
VERY IMPORTANT : YOU CAN ONLY PUCH CREATURE TO KILL THEM OR TO GAIN XP WHEN IT IS MAYBE A BOSS !
I like the idea but too many times, may workshop it and make it simpler
@@WillowPlaysGames oh huh i don't really know how to do that, but that's my idea but maybe i'll try
LMAOOOO 🤣 I think it's hilarious how you call the baby "tiny roommate." I'm stealing this. 😂
Yes police, right here! I found the thief!
Looking forward to the run including only crafted healing items aswell
One of the DLC comes with machines that allow you to craft weapons already. You didn't need a mod for it. Also. They are much cheaper in parts wise
I didn't fail. I followed the rules I stated in the begining. I said 'i can only use crafted weapons armor and ammo' nothing about aid items.
That's fair i suppose, but it would have been more interesting if you didn't allow picked up aid items either@@WillowPlaysGames
Love that I found this channel. Love fallout challenges
Exited to watch more runs like this they’re funnest to watch keep it up you gained a fan
I plan to keep it up and glad to have ya!
"Our Husband and tiny roommate"
Brilliant
thanks!
This is really cool! Love the content, and keep it up man :))
Thanks, will do!
Bro i found you in my recommended today happy you popped up this video is awesome
there's two more on the channel! and another very soon!
Ava: i'm trying to follow you, vault dweller, but my trunk compartment is heavy metal, and the clap of my ass servos is alerting the raiders in half of boston.
Everytime you name something it's like you're an orc from Warhammer 40K and it makes me chuckle
Random thought but
It's a bit stupid how the wooden fences dont give you screws..Mf those fences dont just stay together magically-
Either screws or nails, but nooo, just wood
They are held together with wonderglue obviously /s
@@WillowPlaysGames oh hi Willow-
Hope you have a nice day
I thought you were using the contraptions manufacturing when I clicked on lol
Yeah. If you can’t do it base game then the challenge is forfeit from the beginning
Rare RUclips recommended W. Finally recommends me some good content.
I never knew you could find skinny in the commonwealth after that quest, its pretty funny
Willow: "Time to learn how to use this new crafting workbench mod!!!"
Contraptions DLC: "Am I a joke to you?!!?"
You have the persistance of John Wick goddamn, full props to you.
Those sarcastic lines kill me every time 😂😂😂😂😂
i love how you use the craftable robots from automatron because not many would think like that because it is a companion
