This storm never weakened like they thought it should. Almost like the storm was denser than they realized and kept its shape after colliding with the jet stream…it just bounced off instead of getting sheared apart at the upper levels. I’d hate to be those guys when they are wrong or even just simply not close enough.

    • @andrusaaliiy9267

This is the end of Florida homeowners insurance and the Florida home market. A good portion of these homes will go un repaired due to the poor nature of Florida homeowner's insurance. Combined that with the egregious price of Florida real estate and this is going to end badly.

@@jamesricker3997 homeowners insurance premiums have skyrocketed due to roofing contractors, natural disasters (including hurricanes), and fraud (Florida has a very high amount of insurance fraud).
Auto premiums have gone up because the price of vehicles has risen, population increases, and the cost to repair or replace vehicles.
Homeowners insurance is almost impossible to write anymore and a large percentage wind up being insurned by Citizens which is a state owned insurance company to insure high risk homes.
Over the last few years homeowners insurance companies have been pulling out of Florida or going bankrupt. This was exacerbated by COVID and the fallout of COVID such as hyperinflation.
This will put at least a few major insurance companies in serious jeopardy of major losses which will tighten their likely hood of more homeowners being referred to Citizens giving the government a monopoly over homeowners insurance.

Start by electing officials who will actually DO something about (rather than deny it exists and do nothing about it because they get MONEY for doing nothing about it). DEMAND better. If we can't help ourselves, God won't help us. He expects you to help yourself first. SO DO IT in the voting booth. And, by the way, why is God always a MALE???? Such a misogynistic religion.

The news is focused on Collier - Naples and Sarasota /Bradenton areas because of the lack of communications and internet loss in Lee County - Fort Myers /Cape Coral /Estero areas,as well as hurricane force winds prevented reports being transmitted. Wait until tomorrow morning light and when reports start getting transmitted. Then you are going to see exactly what damage is. It's horrendous. Until tomorrow.
Also the sheer amount of water rescue calls, cardiac calls, personal injury calls in the queues, haven't been answered yet because of flooding, damage, and winds.

Yes. We know it will be horrific. To the south, all shredded. Inland, 20 inches rain expected so they will have water flooding too though they with the pounding that a surge does. It will be a good 36 hrs before storm clears peninsula and mov es north in the Atlantic. Prayers for you all. Biden has fed govt/FEMA ready to go in as soon as the winds come down some.hurricane hunter pilot stated this is worse storm he ever flew in. Remember to donate to Salvation Army, they are usually one of first on scene if disasters and 92% of what gets donated goes directly to emergency relief. They’re known for setting up relief centers in storm areas, providing meals, a dry place, and a dry bed. American Red Cross should be showing up too, 15% of any donation to them is mandated to go to International Red Cross. They have higher overhead always than Salvation Army due to large numbers of offices around US with personnel on staff. I worked nearly 25 yrs in association world.

It would be awesome if DeSantis spent the last few months focusing on the state's storm preparedness instead of wasting time and taxpayer dollars kidnapping and trafficking asylum-seekers from Texas to Massachusetts. Floridians could use the $12k+ per trafficked asylum-seeker for storm relief right about now. Thankfully FEMA exists and has the resources ready to rapidly deploy to communities in need. Also since Democrats are in charge of FEMA, the leader of the agency is a qualified emergency management professional, and not the former president of an Arabian horse association. Never forget Katrina, and the deadly failures of conservative "leadership" leading up to, during, and in the aftermath of the storm.
