One other important thing the Chi To Late has that the base Chi To lacks is the armor covering the vents on the hull, which when combined with the surprisingly decent roof armor makes it more likely to survive being strafed with 50. cal and some smaller cannons
Yes the 20mm RHA plates over the vents prevents the enemy air from taking out your engine, which is part of the reason why its one of my favorite tanks to use
ive taken a break from USSR grind and for fun started japan and I'm happy that I found you. This video was very good at showing each tanks weak points and strong points and you were very detailed but also very well understandable. For all of that you get my sub bro keep up the good work and you definitely deserve more likes and views.
The Chi-Ri is so long that it actually can sometimes work to let the front hull stick out to bait enemy shots, make sure its the hull gunner side tho. Also for long straight kill zones like the one in Breslau, I actually quite like it using very aggressively by reversing into the main highway. If youre lucky, the enemy will hit the likewise massive engine compartment instead - very funny when it happens lol.
The Chi tanks play similar to the Panzer IVs you are a moderate threat to everything apart from heavies, and solid spgs, so if you follow a heavy tank or a escort a group of Spgs (or in short never move alone) the enemy might focus on them due to the fact that you kinda want the most dangerous thing gone asap and ignore everything else so while they are distracted you can help cover them or if possible flank the enemy Idk if this works of everyone but this is how i play and its pretty effective
A very good thing about 75mm Japanese Guns is the explosive filler, and its penetration doesnt feel bad for its br imo maybe they should make Chi-To Late better since as i remember they would add a better engine? Also would be cool if they added Ha-Go late with Manchurian suspension and Type 98 Gun lol
Great vid! just a note tho, developmentally speaking the Chi-Ri II is a completely separate design from the previous Chi-To. Funny thing is beyond an unarmed prototype, the design never really saw the light of day.
I want to give up at rank IV, it's really difficult to play even with HEAT, even though I always play on the side of the map and hide, but I always lose 5k in one shot the lion is really helpless, I give up nearly half a million. buy almost finished rank IV 😢
Yes, you will just have to take your time and either flank or ambush the enemy. For how and what your rounds can do I stated below, hope this helps, I messed around in 5.0 BR for a while to make sure it can play it. For the lower part of Rank 3 (3.7-4.3) the SAP round can still penetrate the front armor on about half the tanks you will face, and for 4.7+ you can penetrate LTs, MTs and thin armored TDs and AA tanks, but for the heavier armored MTs and HTs, shots to the side of the hull or for some in the side of the turret work fine. For HE you can over-pressure most LTs, AA, and open top TDs with hits near the crew compartment, with MTs shots to the thin parts of their armor or hitting on the turret as close to the hull roof will work, otherwise hits to the driver hatch or commanders cupola. HE for HT is a hit or miss, US, France and Britain can be taken out with hits to any of the view ports, or, for some, with hits to the side-skirt in the middle of the crew compartment, or shots right under the gun mantlet. For Germany and Russia, the HE is not strong enough and unless you are above them shooting down onto the turret roof or hull roof, HE can't take them out.
You don't have to, I like to just run the 3 Chi tanks, going with the M4A3 will cause you to be brought up to a higher BR, but the chi tanks can still deal with tigers and IS tanks, you would have to go with trying to shoot them in the side. But when taking IS tanks head on, you would have to aim for the turret cheeks on the directly left or right of the barrel, or the commanders cupola. For the tiger tanks when fighting a Tiger 1 if they don't angle you can hit the flat front armor, if they do angle, you can try and go for the base of the cupola or aim for the lower side hull just above the treads. For Tiger 2 tanks its just like the IS tanks, aiming for the the left or right side of the gun barrel will be fine but you will not be able to pen the cupola, you can pen the turret ring since the turret sits up a bit high but that kind of shot is a bit hard.
I have messed around with it and its not bad and can be fun, it plays like the Chi-Nu but with the Chi-To's gun. so if you get low BR matches it can dominate if played right. I would say if you want a WW2 premium tank its the best option (excluding the Tiger 1) cause the others are just meh honestly.
@@austinj2078 I have messed around with it a bit on the dev server, its not a bad tank, if you have played the Centauro it plays pretty much like that, it is basically the Type 16 P with the Type 16 armor, and armor kit so it can survive a bit better than the Type 16 P, you do lack the Type 93 round (405mm APFSDS). If you need a premium to help push you through the tech tree then this will help as its cheap repair cost and gen 3 thermals make it easy to see the enemy. Along with its speed you can get at least 1 kill a match if played right. Honestly I wouldn't pay $60 for it. If you want a premium to help push you through the tech tree than this is it, as the Type 74(G) was removed. But if you never played wheeled vehicle don't try to peek steep hills as it can't look down far enough, and at its BR (8.7) you will be pushed to BR 9+ more than 8->7.7 so you will have to deal with APFSDS rounds and ATGMs more than HEATFS, so I would say try not to stick out so much when engaging enemy tanks. over all if you need it get it if you don't then don't as its not that much better than the tech tree version of the type 16 P. Edit: If you are use to playing top tier this is a pretty good tank, if you are not use to playing top tier, you will suffer as both the 400mm HEATFS and the 353mm APFSDS would require you to know where on the enemy to hit on each enemy tank to penetrate them.

is Chi-Ha-LG still usable in this rank?

Its okey to play a rank 3 japanese lineup without the sherman? because sherman is 5.7 and the chi to are a little useless to is 3 and tigers :C
