@thewindtunnel, can you please make a video with the F2004 with DRS and slicks at the Hermano Rodriguez Circuit in Mexico? Because I believe they can reach far over 370kph. I am always wondering how fast the F2004 car can drive there.
The person driving the F2004 has some horrible racing lines and exceptionally bad exits out of the crucial corners before the straights This "comparison" doesn't do it justice
I already wrote this long comment to some, but I will repost this here because Forza kids think real life i as simble as a game. The point here was that the v10 will produce more power than the v6. if it's a different v10 yes this one no. There are huge differences between NA and forced induction engines. Look how these v10s are made all of the rotating assembly is as lightweight as possible crankshaft connecting rods pistons everything also this engines work on high compression curent engines still need lightweight parts but the focus is more on strength. Because turbo engines produce a lot more heat and power especially in lower rpm you need stronger pistons rods crankshaft all of the supporting points of the crankshaft and bearings should be stronger and reduced compression otherwise AR mixture will self detonate in the chamber before piston reaches TDC. Again, my point is not that bigger engines can't make more power. My point is that this engine can't make more power if you just strap turbos on its back, and it's not going to be the same engine if you rework everything you need to use turbo. This starts with stupid comments like put slicks on the Ferrari, then someone once had a good point saing remove fuel limits on the RB, which is maybe faster than changing the tires because its software limitations and Forza kids suggested --- just strap turbos to the v10 it will make 10 000 hp its not working like this One additional thing after all that changes this v10 will not produce the same RPMs, and most of the sound will be muffled from the turbo, so for the lovers of the NA V10 song bad news. Sound heat vibrations and friction are wasted energy when you refine the engine you reduce this thinks. Sorry for the long post....😅
I mean, yeah. But you kinda ignored the spirit of people's argument. It wasn't about actually turbocharging the V10. It was about everything afforded to modern F1 cars. Full racing slicks. DRS. Powerful hybrid system. Improved bodywork material and optimized aero. It is a miracle that the F2004 is able to maintain relative pace simply by being afforded leniency on NA engine power and being lightweight. Especially with a grooved tire handicap, which was intentional at the time. The F2004 is a lunchbox on wheels compared to modern F1 aero.
@brolo7234 Yes, its small size and low weight are the biggest advantages that f2004 have, for me its always better to remove weight than increase power. With that said, i just want a fair fight for both cars. Full slicks for the Ferrari and maximum power that V6 can provide without concerns for reliability and fuel consumption. Because f2004 have handicap in the form of an tires but RB20 have handicap in the form of limited fuel. And because both can be done in minutes, it should be considered as equal modification over the rules limits. One more thing that i really liked for older regulations. I don't know how old you are maybe you remember or know from somewhere, but back in the v10 era teams were allowed to make changes at the engine between qualifying and race. Removing oil rings for qualifying was common practice to increase the power of the engine. It was a wild time 😆
Over a race distance the 2004 would beat the current cars as even though the v6s have 1000hp its hybrid so can’t go 1000 unless it’s a quali lap/ overtaking mode. While the 2004 will be at 930 hp the whole time. Scratch that in race trim the 2004 cars had 860 or 870 hp so they would be slower even with slicks. But if you put in a Valkyrie v12 in a current or old F1 car. Then it would DEFINITELY beat the v6s and v10s.
what is that gearing on the f2004.. You are reaching 7th gear about 50 meters before the braking zone on the longest straight and having trouble to accelerate out of slow corners. Make the gearing shorter, and it will destroy the rb20
Not true this is the best track suited for the 04 cars you take advantage of better acceleration and top speed and minimise its lack of performance in medium/high speed corners compared to the 2023/4 cars

Scary and bizarre [in the best way possible] that these two vehicles are 20 years apart in terms of engineering, materials, aerodynamics, etc.

Nah, the RB20 is just that big in comparison, I can't wait for the 2026 cars because they are going to be smaller again.
