My chinchilla Sammy won’t stop chewing the bars of his cage. I can’t get him to stop. Can you help me? Sammy has everything he needs but he won’t stop biting the cage!
Also it’s fine if not but I just started my channel with my pets and I was wondering if you could maybe give me a shout out again it’s fine if not❤️💜💕🤣
I love your videos, thank you!! I appreciate how you have educated me and others about keeping our chins safe and happy. Pet stores really don't cater to chins :/ Also I noticed you have a lava ledge on the ground for merlin, mine chew theirs off too XD if you want, you can pull that metal piece out and then it's just a giant pumice piece and there's no metal sticking out or anything. Much love to you ❤️
i’ve learned that chinchillas shouldn’t be using wood bedding but also not paper bedding..... help i’m getting chins soon and i don’t know what bedding to choose! help me pleaseeee
Many owners give harmful toys to their chin's without realising that they could harm their chinchillas, and many times they either don't know or ca't afford it. You should never get a chin without researching and you must have a very large budget. 🐭
Another thing to be wary of is unknown wooden toys and dyes, and any toy or hay rack or hay ball with holes that chins can get stuck in. For example chins are known for getting their head stuck in those wire hay balls. There's also a picture somewhere on the internet of a ceramic red-bell-pepper toy that a chin got stuck in.
@@TheChinchillaNotebook Awesome! That's what I've been doing! Thank you so much for responding! I'm about to run out of that carefresh bedding, which I will not be buying anymore. I got Chili about a month and a half ago so I'm hoping he hasn't chewed on any of it while I'm sleeping or at work. But he's acting fine and his 💩 is normal so hopefully I'm switching before he's had a chance to chew it!
I agree with Caitlin because they sort of smell but I think I got used to it by now. It smelled when it is in a room but it doesn’t really travel into the whole house
My Chinchillas would get along SO well with your chinchillas Gus Gus is a Goober haha that’s one of his nicknames btw Goober and Merlin seems pretty funny and Cute just Like Gus Gus Chinchi is very shy very soft but creepy why (staring) and he’s always is up to something or always angry at people Also very active And Zorro seems like that So they seem like my chinchilla
Is the country harvest blend treats safe for Chinchillas? They sell this product like on Amazon and PetSmart and I can’t tell there actually safe or not. Please let me know!!
just from first glance I can tell you no. Looking into the ingredients there are papayas, bananas, raisins, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds, which are all terrible for chinchillas. Try to stick with rose hips or goji berries or plain oats.
if you don’t have etsy or things like that, a place you can you get treats from walmart! Plain cheerios, old fashioned oats and shredded mini wheat without the frosting. I typically crush the shredded wheat up before giving it to them :)

Hello I love your videos I have three chinnies of my own which are all getting new ledges and toys for Christmas. They're also getting coop cups and I'm switching them to fleece. I'm new to fleece so if you could give me some advice I would appreciate it a lot
I have a couple videos on fleece as bedding and how to use it. Next Monday I will also be uploading another video on fleece and where to buy some liners 😁💕
Hey tomorrow im getting a new chinchilla, and i was wondering if the led stripes are dangerous to their eyes.like can i have them or its bad for their eyes?
ummmmm i have them in the room my chin is at and i don't think they are dangerous? They shouldn't be, especially since its lower lighting but I'm not too sure
@@devynthecatwithsocks9010 ok thx i get him today and he alreday bit me and ate some of his wooden house.😂😂but i didnt move the finger so i hope he wont bite me anymore.

In the video she goes over why you absolutely should stay away from these products, so don’t just take my word for it, watch the video too!!!!
I bought the first 2 and I regret it.
I’ve been using paper bedding since forever😭😭
I never understood the exercise balls because the best part of letting them out is watching them jump and flip off the walls.
When I got my third chinchchilla it came with an exercise ball but I threw it away immediately
Good Choice
Exercise ball? Their fur is already 100 degrees... why a ball.. just let the run around in a air conditioned house
Exactly! It’s so inhumane 💕
are plastic bucket for there dust baths bad or good
I had NO idea paper was bad.... even the vet recommended CareFresh (as long as he wasn’t eating it... which for a while he wasn’t but long story short, he started eating it so I stopped buying).
I used carefresh for one day and I instantly regretted it so I got rid of it and I also give my chinchilla (Sushi) little carrot strips as treats

@@TheChinchillaNotebook Thats true. So many die every year, its so sad for the owners and the chins.

Um I think the wood chips for the bedding is a bad idea because it’s can get in to the eye and cause infection
Stay safe

You moved again hehe 😜 or what happend
I did 😂
@@TheChinchillaNotebook oh haha well I hope everything goes smoothly for you 😌💕❤️
Who's watching and doesn't even have a chinchilla
awww Merlin is so cute
Since most chinchillas are more active at night, what's the best lighting for them at night?
They have really good eyesight so if you plug in a nightlight behind the cage, that would be the perfect amount of light that they need 💕

My chinchilla is very picky
hi! i was wondering your what your best cage liner recommendations are, thank you so much! i love you💖
Really cool video!
I want one
I sleep with a box fan for the noise, will that harm the chinchilla or is it bad
It shouldn’t be too disruptive 💕
Do chinchillas smell bad? Because I really want one❤️
I personly dont think they smell but some people might think the hay you have to get for them smells a little :)

What state are you guys moving too? Just wondering if you guys are going to be anywhere near? Also are the guy going to be in a shed again?
Tennessee, and the house we bought already has a shed so we’ll move them into that as soon as my dad brings electricity to it😄
my chinchilla has a hamic will that be ok for him?
Yup!💕

Are raisins ok for chinchillas?
No they are very high in sugar
One every now and then is okay but in general they have a lot of sugar so I opt for dried goji berries since they have less sugar 💕
@@TheChinchillaNotebook is there any specific brand for dried goji berries?

It’s only unsafe if you notice them chewing off the pieces, then swallowing the bits. 💕

At pet smart, the chinchillas looked sad they were in a small glass fish tank and a plastic hides and wheel and paper bedding 😞
That was so cool when Merlin climes the wall and jumped on the ledge. Spiderchin!

Where do you buy your chinchillas? A pet store or a breeder?
I got mine from a pet store because every time I go there the chins always look sad with a plastic hide and paper bedding. But a breeder would be nixe

What’s wrong with the sticks in the beginning of the video?
The chin probably chewed on them before hand because they are very destructive.
They like to chew off the skin of sticks. It’s their favorite part 💕
