Stop saying you will be a black millionaire, you are just going to be a millionaire. Let’s stop separating ourselves. Success doesn’t have a color! Let’s get it
By stating himself as Black, he is referring to his ethnicity, which is something to be proud of and not ashamed of. Do you condemn Jews for saying they are Jewish? What is with your reflexive anti-black aggression? Do you condemn the Mexican-American for saying he is Mexican or the Irish-American for saying he is Irish? If he is a foundational Black American Descendant of Slavery, that means his people were responsible for the building of the US and its economic empire and trillions of dollars in labor and wages were stolen from his community. He should have been born a millionaire at birth considering that Descendants of American Slavery are victims of mass Birthright Theft for which, reparations are long over due!

As a middle aged person I am so incredibly inspired by the FIRE movement. I try to seek greatness in all generations and not join the choir of Old Folks trashing the next generations. I changed my life AGAIN and went back into corporate america with the full belief that I can achieve FIRE in less than 12 years (even though I'm not young). Thanks for sharing your story. #BlackMillionaireInTwelveOrLess!!!
FIRE typically promotes the idea that you should work only if you want to as opposed to because you *have* to. No need to formally retire if you don’t want 😊

Thanks for the inspiration! I love how this couple still has a really nice and normal life while saving. They cut out the fluff and made smart choices with the money they did save. Excited to see where their FIRE journey goes!
FIRE does not mean you stop spending. It just means you spend wisely and on things that provide a benefit to your life. I have found that the people who seek FIRE do so for the independence to WORK on what they desire. They dont just retire to a beach somewhere.
People don’t forget. We just don’t care, what other people do with their money is their choice. I’m making money through investing and watching my expenses, that’s what I know. Besides that, companies will always grow, even with FIRE. Cause I still spend money just not above my means.
Nah, economies with high savings rates are just more stable and rigid. Less opportunity to make money off people's desperation, but more opportunities for higher end and more sophisticated businesses.
Really inspiring! In this time when black people are being told they’re victims these two show the way to empowerment. The biggest obstacle for poor people is that you never learn to invest, generations live in rentals and never own a home. Greatest advice I ever got was that being rich isn’t determined by what you own but by the passive income you generate. Buy appreciating assets not depreciating ones.
Black people have experienced real historical and contemporary racial discrimination, which has vastly impacted the amount of wealth Black families have been able to amass. While, I completely understand the premise of what you are saying, I do think we must be real about the experiences Blacks have had in the US that negatively effect their net worth. And that’s not about being a victim, it’s a reality rooted in data and facts. I support the FIRE movement, I’m a part of the movement and plan to retire early. However, I also understand that most Black families have very little to save, because their incomes are low and they do not have any wealth passed down to them from parents and grandparents. The FIRE movement is most helpful for middle class and up Black singles or families because they have additional income to meet their needs (a few wants), create an emergency fund, and then invest the rest.
@@Simone-es2qs It's not as if systemic racism or its affects are going to disappear overnight. Blacks experience poverty and unemployment at twice the rate of Whites. Also note that Blacks make less on average than their White counterparts of similar experience and training. In the develpong global economy where wealth is more and more concentrated in the hands of a few, where education and training are increasingly difficult/too expensive for poor and middle incomes to attain, climbing the wealth ladder is getting harder for those who start with little. That said, sharing these principles with people at a young age, showing them examples of successful FIRE proponents? It will defenitely change lives!

Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C, North Carolina and Georgia are the primiere states where blacks succeed the most. Virginia is ranked in the top 3 most educated states where blacks are the most educated. Maryland is ranked #1 from what I have seen....and believe me when I say that there are plenty and "not out of the ordinary" financially & educationally well off blacks in Virginia and Maryland. Lots of people first impression is that of Baltimore but Baltimore is not all of Maryland. It's just a tiny slice of it, but you can't explain to ignorant people that small fact.
@Wealthy Forex Trader. Fam, The District & Northern, Va. are increasingly being occupied (invaded) by euro-albino transplants & "Mexicanos" (central/south americans). The video didn't cite any sources for their stats. However, I don't have any problem believing that Median Black household wealth is on a projected DECLINE. For ex. I know numerous people who work federal or local government jobs in DC or N. Va., but cannot afford to reside in those jurisdictions.
I lived out there for a few years. I went to a few mansion parties...definitely an amazing experience to see Blacks w/ huge often custom made homes in Maryland 💖
@Heart of Gold. I have a close buddy who resides in MD, but now travels quite frequently. Long-story-short... He is one such person who used to reside in a 8,500+ Sq.Ft. "mansion" property. The monthly mortgage + utilities on the place was WELL over $5,500+ PER MONTH. He used to periodically throw big parties (once-twice per year) & there would literally be 800-900+ people on the property (inside the house + chilling on the grounds). The point of my comment is mainly: I know some people who are living like that (or used to), but the average Black/Brown ADOS citizen in the DMV ain't living like that. (BTW, I'm a university graduate. So my extended circle includes a helluva number of people who minimally hold BA, BS degrees in their field). The avg. Black/Brown ADOS resident is STRUGGLING & literally 2-3 paychecks (or a medical emergency) away from a severe financial crisis. Don't allow bullshyt & propaganda to fool you fam. *My Dude , had to eventually sell that big "mansion" property & downsize because (although he works in the legal field), his income dropped off significantly & he could no longer afford the costs to maintain the mortgage & upkeep on the house. Things ain't always what they seem Fam.'
@@SoundScientist1 two to three paychecks from a severe financial crisis sounds on par with the average American of any color. Maintaining a mansion of that size is often a struggle unless you are very wealthy and have streams of income that are going to continuously come in for years to come
This couple is awesome! Real role models. And their message transcends race. They show that the power of "FIRE" is not actually having to retire super early (even if you could) but to provide a great cover for families to live frugally (and as they show, very well) and not be ostracized by their spendthrift friends and relatives (who are all broke and will retire to lives of poverty). Face it. Without a cover like "FIRE", those friends and relatives will simply say you're cheapskates and make fun of you. Nobody wants that and that's the problem. The culture is overwhelmingly spend like crazy and those who are frugal are ostracized (and when I say frugal, you still live very, very well like the couple in this story. You just don't throw money around irresponsibly). People like Suze Orman might like to make fun of FIRE but she doesn't understand the true value of the movement.
Race does matter for this specific video because they are talking about the unique experiences of Black wealth and the Black experience. Please don't erase that ;)
I’ve been diligently working, saving and contributing towards early retirement and financial freedom, but since covid outbreak, the economy so far has caused my portfolio to underperform, do I keep contributing to my 401k or look at alternative sectors to meet my goals?
Agreed, having a good financial advisor is invaluable, my portfolio is well-matched for every season of the market and has just yielded 120% from early last year. I and my advisor are working on a 7 figure ballpark goal, tho this could take another year.
mind sharing info of this person guiding you please? truly appreciate the implementation of ideas and strategies that result to unmeasurable progress, thus the search for a reputable advisor

Y’all are like two of the dopest humans ever! Also, from Atlanta and also currently on the road to FIRE. There needs to be more of this. More Black FIRE pursuers telling their stories. This is how you do leadership. You, your family, your community ... self care family care community care it trickles inside out and not just for some. Well done my sister and brother well done.
*Excellent feature! 👍 It's possible for anyone to be on this path but it takes changing your current habits. I started my FIRE movement before this term even came about and talk about my current investments.*
When they no longer need child care and the mortgage is paid off, they can retire with less. I haven't started this journey but I have been thinking about it a lot. But doing it as a single person seems a little harder since I am not sharing the cost of living.
Plus it's much harder to stay motivated by yourself. With two people, the chances that at least one of you is motivated at any given time is much higher.
Assuming nothing comes up like emergencies or family needing help...which it will. It's a nice thought to retire early but you really need a lot more than minimum
Actually, I feel like if I was single, I would've invested a lot more. It's just that my partner cannot tolerate risk, so I have to let it go. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side. lol
Duel income is nice but you both have to be equally minded on the goal, if not it feels like dead weight trying to get ahead. Set yourself up for a prosperous future so that when you do find that equally minded partner you can come together already ahead of the game.
Thank you for this. This is so important. New black homeowner here and I can tell you that many of the lifestyle choices this couple made are ones my husband and I had to make as well and it’s worth it. Thank you for this video!
Wow this is smart! I’m already going down the part of early retirement myself. Although I’m not doing it alone, trading has proven to be more than an avenue to generate residual income for me as it turned out to be rewarding over the past months.
@Prime Donavan Just as mentioned, months ago I began putting my savings into stocks and fx investment. Coming across a reliable expert, Levi Clemans has proven to be an edge for my investments. So now I continue to reinvest. Here, you can reach him
Intrigued to know what approach a more seasoned fiduciary like Levi applies, as I’ve come across his appraisals severally on here. Left a message, I hope he can help me earn from the market too
@Prime Donavan I personally lost money countless times too trying to trade and build my portfolio not till I came across recommendations of Levi. He’s the brain behind my success.
Stories and people like this should be the role models for the black community. This is how you do it...not by teaching people they are victims. Great job!
The goal should be "Freedom" and not becoming a Millionaire. Most millionaires are NOT free. They have DEBT. Most are heavily leveraged. Minimalist Nomads have the FREEDOM and lower cash requirements to travel the world. Many have no House or car to maintain. No property taxes to pay. They have learned that "less" is MORE. Access is better than Ownership. I define "rich" as being "free" and you don't need a million to do that IF you are not attached to "stuff".
Earthwealth Energy Mobile ownership allows you to build a legacy example, owning your home which you can rent out while traveling, have a home base should you have a family and have something to pass on to your kids or be a source of income for them.
What about the future of your children? They would need money to go to school and so one. You can save being minimalist. And free as well. Once you ve finised paying you re debt you can really be free finacially no worries for you re retirement and for you re childrens future

Excellent role models for all races. Beautiful couple and sharing techniques of financial saving, loving eachother and teaching financial wealth is the American Dream. We all should try to be self sufficient and never rely on corporate America.
I would focus on being conservative like they are with money first but ultimately I think it would be more beneficial to teach the community how to make more money down the road. Living extremely frugal is great to start but eventually living that way sucks and you don’t have to do it.
jerald meow yeah but have to make sacrifices. Buying Rolex and Lamborghini’s are stupid decisions only the stupid rich can afford. To do that you need a start a business. Most people realistically will never be a able to generate a business that can afford them fancy things without going into debt. I like this movement because it allows for financial freedom grounded in reality.
Frugal doesn't have to suck. Just budget for what you want to do. We are a well off African America couple, my wife and I. We use a program called (YNAB). It stands for --YOU NEED A BUDGET. We get what we want without being in debt. Some people think frugal means beans and rice. LOL!!!! That's a myth within itself. We vacation two or three times a year and never have to charge one dime. You have to step outside the norm and start to create financial plans that will work for yourself.

What people forget is that investments, whether in the stock market or otherwise, is based off someone else spending money.
FIRE does not mean you stop spending. It just means you spend wisely and on things that provide a benefit to your life. I have found that the people who seek FIRE do so for the independence to WORK on what they desire. They dont just retire to a beach somewhere.
Yes. Someone will be spending money. That’s what all economies calculate. No one said this was an expression of minimalism

Exactly!
@@brics6873 you better educate them !!
@Infinite Awareness Only 5 black billionaires?? Where did you get that from? There are at least 7, most likely more if you look it up.

Yea, alot of well of Blacks, but none of us out there actually own and cobtrol any resources. ok..
Maintaining a mansion of that size is often a struggle unless you are very wealthy and have streams of income that are going to continuously come in for years to come
Not just cutting out but also finding ways to make extra income. My passion allowed me to live where I love and buy another small house to rent out.

You have to step outside the norm and start to create financial plans that will work for yourself.
I am so glad to see you lovely ppl who r a married couple working together. I will be following ur channel as well seemingly my husband & I r also toward cutting corners in expenses and building wealth.
This is truly inspiring. I believe they are on their way to greatness if not there yet.
I will however say that I live in Southern Africa and there are way more wealthy blacks in America than there are in South Africa. The poverty rates are insane and the middle class is slowly dwindling.
Living life on one's own terms... is freedom. Inspiring.
1:25 Daycares all around the world are robbing people. That amount
It's $2,200 a month where I am and there is a waiting list to get in. I was so glad when my kid started school. An extra $2,000 in our pocket every month!
That's not true.
I'm not a chef by any means but when I saw those knife skills, I was like, dude must've been a chef. Great vid.

Love this! Slowly but surely my husband and I are on our way to financial independence too. We're not doing FIRE though. I should look more into it
Bianca Johnson the RE part is optional. Is having the choice to retire if you want to because you are financially independent.
