Great video, as an exercise after slowing down and practicing leading with the right.
i reserved it and lead with the weak hand, it helped me tremendously.
two bars with the left and two bars leading with right hand

Such sensible words too. I wish I had more time in my life to practise more and watch more of your vids.

I get that time is often the issue. One of the core tennets of this channel is for you as viewers to get the most out of the time you have. The methods I present in these vids ARE the fastest way to go towards where you want to be on the instrument, in my opinion and experience. I think a lot of people miss that point! Cheers Desmond :)

Thanks for this Mike. I've been working furiously on this all week since our lesson! The problem I'm trying to overcome at the moment is when I try to go faster my ghost notes get louder, but I'm sure I can do it. Also, I've been applying your method to other accented patterns that I've had a problem nailing recently. Great video!

Nice one Suzanne! It's all good, in fact his is probably the thing I say the most on this channel - it takes time! The subtlety and nuance in playing well, especially dynamic contrast at speed takes years to really bed in in my experience. Everyone's in such a rush! It's not "a problem", it's just natural development, enjoy the process and keep going! Your playing will be unrecognizable in five years if you commit and keep consistent with your practice :) Glad you dig and well done 👏🏻

There's a great Bo Diddley section in Bastille's Pompeii... But I really can't keep a straight four beat going with the kick while BoDiddling with the hands
