    I worked on lsm systems for coasters, I would be really impressed if you pulled this off. You're timing has to be exactly right or you end up slowing down the car. I would suggest doing an lim.

      It’ll be a challenge for sure, RanHam335!
      Gonna try using Arduino with optical sensors to fire the coils ( 3 of em, I think). That way, timing can vary based on load, etc. Gotta be a hundred things I’m not thinking of yet. Any advice you have to offer is entirely welcome!

      @@WillPemble My advice would be that you need to build an Energy Storage. The Tesla Model 3 has an 355V Battery that can provide up to 1100A. So i would recomend that you build an big capacitor bank made out of Supercaps that can provide this huge ammount of Energy in seconds.

    Bird bones are weaker than mammal bones (most of the time). Plus when an animal is dead the bones are weaker. And then once you cook the bones they become even weaker. So... I am not sure about the comparison if the chicken bones to the human bones.
    Cool video though! I look forward to the next part.

    I'm surprised that you've decided to go down the path of an LSM launching system. LSMs are reliable, but they're hard to align properly so the cart accelerates rather than decelerates. Personally, I'd look into an LIM system if you're sticking with the electromagnet idea. If you have the budget, a hydraulic or compressed-air launch would probably work best since they're easier to set up, can accelerate quicker, and provide a constant acceleration speed if done properly. (Continued below)

    • @Innovation_inc
      @Innovation_inc 4 года назад +2

      If you were to hook able to use an air compressor and release all of the pressure at once, you could, in theory, use that pressurized air to turn a drum and pull a cable down the launch straight. There is a great video by "Art of Engineering" on RUclips that explains how the cable, drum, and catch car all work. Although the video covers a hydraulic system, you can probably engineer a solution to work on 4,000+ psi. Again, the magnets are a good idea, I just worry that you won't be able to reach the speed you need to get to in time. (I'll show numbers below)

    • @Innovation_inc
      @Innovation_inc 4 года назад +2

      (Part 3) To reach 21mph in 0.8 seconds, you'd need to accelerate the car, with weight, at 11.76m/sec. (roughly 1.2g of forward force). It would take a pretty strong magnet to achieve that type of acceleration. Can it be done? Absolutely.
      And please don't take my comments as criticism, I applaud your ingenuity and knowledge about this stuff. I just want to present other options in case something were to happen that doesn't work in your favor. I wish you the best of luck and I'll be keeping up with your progress every time you upload!

    i feel like something you could do is have a magnet sit below the car and have an other magnet behind it that can repel the other magnet along the track. You could use something like a pole to push the repelling magnet down the track.
