actually for me DRAMA is still THE QUEEN. BUT armageddon really gagged me... it's like i couldnt choose between🥹 they are good in their own way. like i wasnt sure if theres another comeback that could top DRAMA. i was worried for the full album. but then fool me.. aespa really outdid themself.

Yup i still remember what peoples think of next level before it blow up in SK. Some said it's weird or it will flop..but the next days, they eat next level like a cake. Same with supernova. From what I can gather, the new villain currently is themselves. The concept is overcoming the adversities within yourself, and "Only I can define myself". They portray this in both a literal and figurative way. With themes like "Who are we?" "How did we get here?" Like someone who feels alien to themselves and needs to overcome that and be authentic, but also portrayed as literal alien-like beings invading lol. It's a bit confusing but that's what I've understood personally from it so far.

Agree, that what's makes me sm artist supporter from 2009 until now. Although i enjoyed many kpop artist and groups from all companies, but i will always buy sm artis product, because their groups always serves creatives and ambitious music. From the Licorice track video, the "licorice" entity was just a regular licorice ice cream but was ignored and neglected and came to life to tell aespa that they should have a bite of licorice for them to realize that it's delicious.
I’m just so happy there is a newer (4th gen or later) group rejecting the TikTok formula and embracing the wacky and weird for music videos, fashion, and the songs. A few groups do 1 or 2 out of those 3, but not many groups are doing all three at once. This is what kpop was in the older days and I’m glad a few groups are continuing the legacy. The album is a bop, supernova and Armageddon are bops, and I’m loving this aespa era.

Aespa does it ALL. Grungy, sexy, and masculine Rap/hiphop…they got it. Quirky, girly, and cute K-pop…they got it. Western pop/rock…they got it too. They have so many sounds and they own them all. TWICE might sing a song like “Long Chat” well, but they couldn’t pull off “Supernova” or “Armageddon” the way Aespa does. Personally my favorites were “Armageddon”, “Supernova”, and “Long Chat”.
