I am so jealous of his studio. Beautiful, functional and very cozy!

12:44 I think this video did it for me. Been pondering and overthinking which monitor to go with for bit.
Thank you for capturing audio so well. Next step is to check em out for myself.

I love Kali speakers! I got a pair of LP6 MK 2s the year before last. They are phenomenal especially for the price. All your mixes translate perfectly. These look fantastic!

been using a pair of these for my bedroom setup and they have been really nice to work with. only gripe is the connector cable is a little flimsy but not a big deal.

I own a pair of these since 2 months or so and I'm really happy. I have them on little stands on my small desk (don't have much space) and use them for recording myself (bass guitar), doing rough mixes and scratch tracks of my band, and listening to music. And they sound great (and bigger than they look). The ONLY thing I don't like is the proprietary connector - just as Henning said. That is a bit too wiggly for my taste.

Power connector looks like a Phoenix connector, these are pretty standard on industrial computers and it's a bit weird that they used them for something like this. Also a bit strange that they didn't use a version with the retention screws since that would let you make them more secure and are by orders of magnitude more common than the versions without the screws.

Nice speakers, sound seems really good. A couple of design choices I'm not sold on though, first the cable connecting the speakers looks quite rigid, which could make placement near a rear wall problematic. Also a volume knob would have been much better and quicker for adjusting.

My monitors are way too big for the room I've got. Kali UNF monitors should be my next investment. I just need some nice low end. I don't want to have to always mix my sh*t (only) on headphones.
Edit: Wow, that Zoom thing through binaural mic was a surprise. I never thought about sound when you talk, but when you switched to that, it made a huge difference.

    Fantastic content Henning!
I've honestly been seriously looking at these as well as the Yamaha HS-3 & HS-4 pairs (which would you recommend BTW?).
I previously had a pair of 1st gen Kali LP-8s for a few years and loved them, but I had to sell them off along with a lot of other gear to make ends as Blair's health began to decline (she and Oscar say "hello" btw).🥰
Also? The LP-8s were inevitably just waaaaay to big for my apartment setup.
My Spidey-sense makes me assume that Kali Audio is doing some sort of DSP jiggery-pokery under the hood with these UNF monitors?
Because in my experience I've always been left with an impression from most prior advertised "studio monitors" in a similar (active/passive) configuration just didn't cut the mustard IMO, and even some big brand designs inherently being vulnerable to RTL phasing inaccuracies. (NeRd! I know...)
Typically individually powered active monitors was always the golden rule, yet...
I does seem that Kali Audio's engineers have successfully addressed any/all of those potential issues, and even go as far as boasting the potential for future improvement updates via USB-C! Not too shabby if they do in fact live up to that claim.
    Seriously tho HP...
Let's say you hypothetically only had a budget of $300 to invest in a pair of studio monitors?
    What would you go for?
    Yamaha HS-3?!
    Yamaha HS-4?!
    Kali LP-UNF?!
    Thanks in advance!
    P.S.

When people do the "didn't see you there," it usually comes across as so daft and fake, but that intro made me laugh!

The longer proprietary cable should really be included, both in the box and in the price; I mean it's only $10, but by email order!? Besides, everybody is very likely to need it sooner or later (given the RCA connections!) At least as a backup solution, in case that the short proprietary cable gets eaten by the dog!

They look like a decent speaker for the price! Can’t say I’m a huge fan of the volume control mind 🤣

That connector is ugly. An angled connector is needed instead of that mess.
