Alex, I understand your point. But that would assume that racism is about color, which it rarely if ever is. Instead, it is about difference of opinion (bigotry), culture (or lack thereof) and respect. And, I agree with you there, it goes both ways. "Racism isn't born, folks, it's taught. You're right if KD was a regular person like you and me, but as soon as you are a public person, every thing you say, they take a sentence and make it bigger than it is! So this is fun 'cause KD is black and thankfully he thought that when he was a kid from a black neighborhood, 'cause otherwise he would have to apologise for all his life if you turn the situation all the way around!
You, as every single person, can understand, but society is a different beast. Society doesn't understand! Society thinks that if you are white automatically you are racist toward black people! Maybe just a little bit, but you are, it's in your DNA to hate somehow blacks! And it's also different in each Country!
I know a lot of people from country with high density of black people (Nigeria for example!) and I don't know where you're from, but in Italy we address black people (light dark or full dark black indistinctly) politely as "colored".
In USA "colored people" is derogatory and some see that as an insult.
I know a lot of latin people and they say "negro" like black people say "nigga". Like "Hola negro!" which is the equivalent of "Hi nigga!". But again I've never heard any white dude say "Hi nigga!" to a black dude!
In Italy say to a black person "Ciao negro!" it's horribly insulting! That's how society works!
We all together are mentally affected by some words and our culture and our countries 'cause of each word meaning, instead of the intention!
"Intention" is that if you are a racist, no matter how you call a different skin color person, it doesn't make you less racist if you talk politely!
On the other hand (and this is my point!), if my Nigerian friend would call me "Ciao bianco!" (which is like "Hi white!" or like "Hi milky!") or my latin friends would call me "Hola blanco!" it's fun and goofy. But I'm not offended and nobody would call them racists.
But if I call them "Ciao nero!" ("Hi black!") or "Ciao negro!" ("Hi negger!"), 100% I'd be instantly rated as a racist!
I respect your opinion and I'd love to say you're right but I'm sorry it's just an illusion and that's not how the world works!

I give you a different example of racism to validate what you're saying.
Every time Madonna comes to Italy, the Vatican says that she souldnt' be aloud to sing in Rome 'cause her name is deprecative toward the mother of Jesus ('cause in Italy we also call Mary the mother of Jesus, Madonna).
Is that racism against the singer Madonna or is the singer's parents fault against Christianity? In the rest of the world nobody cares, but in Rome it's like a "sin" that she born Madonna Louise Ciccone and she uses the stage name Madonna! Is like if I was born Yeshua Alessandro Lanza!
