But one thing I couldn't understand is why using selector switch when we are using different phases for different segments of the house. Y in the world we would want to switch from one phase to other phase. For instance R phase is feeding segment 1. Y phase is feeding segment 2. Similarly G phase is feeding segment 3. Y would I change R to Y when Y phase is Already feeding segment 2. Yes it might benifit when R phase is not working. And such problems are very rare.

Sometimes 1 phase Voltage get Down in Village area and even in city also in that condition we can use the selector switch to change the power supply
