    I feel like the biggest thing that isn't taught by others are those motion steps you broke down on the wing when they started going full speed. Being able to cross, take a number of steps while the ball floats then decide what next is huge.

      NXT Nick because you only start counting the 2 steps as the dribble ends. Basically if you delay your catch you can take as many steps as you want until the ball has been gathered. Once the ball has been gathered you have 2 steps. Watch his step back hesi video

    One thing I don't get about the live dribble - if you can take as many steps as you want, what's stopping a player from taking one dribble and 10 steps to the rim?

      Live dribble is just that, live. Reason being you could take those steps and decide to put the ball back on the floor and continue your dribble.
      There are no rules in any league limiting steps while maintaining a live dribble. You only kill your dribble with some form of gather (cupping, palming, cuffing, carrying, and of course putting both hands on it).
      The steps taken after your last dribble, but before your gather are not counted towards your 2 legal steps.

    i could never pull that crossover in transition. The go-to was always the inside out. That usually got the job done with minimal risk of getting the ball poked away,

    wouldn’t it be traveling ...if you’re not putting the ball back to the floor to continue dribbling then the last few steps were the gather steps, can’t take three steps anytime when you’re going for a layup, right?

      As soon as he picks up the ball with two hands, he has 2 steps. But as long as the ball looks like it’s in dribbling play it’s good.

      You can google this pretty easy. Can you imagine how it’d look if we had to dribble every other two steps, we’d look like robots. The count for steps starts when you terminate the dribble
