    Really terrific! That method of flick shading looks great & the shading gave the piece so much depth. 😊👏🙏👍🌟

    thanks Molly and Martha! love this - so cool, and you can do so much with multi dimensional layers!

    Love it. In the negative space I had at the top of my tile I put a few black orbs that had 'escaped' the tangle 😂

    You’re doing 4-sided figures, not squares. Love it.

      You can put it in all the tiles if you want. The video is really just for inspiration and ideas. Everyone’s tile will look different anyway.

    Why is the darker pencil called a 5x5?

    I think I want to teach this tangle to the 2nd-5th graders. I always tell them the name but not sure what to do with this one! Could be just a variation of Tripoli but you didn't actually have a name unless it is Poly Poly? Help. Thinking about doing this on a Zendala!

    Very nice but a square has 4 equal sides.

    What does 'fragment' mean in Zentangle? To me, most of the possible elements used in tangles are fragments.

    • @vrenimurphy9107
      @vrenimurphy9107 Месяц назад +2

      In Zentangle speak, a fragment is a small pattern which is drawn in a grid. Each field of the grid has the same fragment, but you can vary the orientation of the fragment, which produces several different meta patterns. The grids are called reticula and can have different shapes for square, round, oval or triangular fragments. The Zentangle family likes to play with words, using unusual words, changing words, adapting words, inventing words, anything goes.

      @@vrenimurphy9107 Yes, I love the word-play of Zentangle. I wondered about "reticula" too,, but you've addressed that now.
      So in this case the fragment is the 4-sided-figure that was the beginning of the tangle? Or the circle inside the 4-sided figure? I guess there's a Zentangle lexicon somewhere on the web.

    • @vrenimurphy9107
      @vrenimurphy9107 Месяц назад

      @@ruthloewen3884 The four sided figures are the grid. What is inside the 'squares' is the fragment. In this case a cross and a black circle.

      @@vrenimurphy9107 I realized that there's an exact parallel to quilting, and that makes this completely clear, thanks!

    I really like this one! But I think you could do better on the name. 'Poly' means 'many', I think -- it certainly doesn't mean 4 -- so save it for a tangle where the elements have various numbers of sides. I would suggest 'Quadrille' if that's not in use, or something based on the Microsoft Windows logo (which the beginning of this tangle resembles)... how about Quadroes?
