your editing and storytelling abilitys are so moving and impactful. A lot of comments are hoping you are going to blow up, and i do to, but even if you somehow dont, i just want to say i really appreaciate these incredible videos.
I'll never forget that arrangement of this song by Neil Cicierega made entirely of "Yahoos". That was honestly breathtaking. It's one of the many reasons I love his work. He can breath new life into already top notch songs.
I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to find such a gem of a video, but feel so sad to see how underrated it is. This video is incredibly poetic and moving. This is the first video I've seen from you, I'll go and watch the rest of your work now:)
For a while, I struggled to cry and couldn't shed a single tear, even when I felt like I needed to. But now, thanks to you, I was able to release all of those pent-up emotions. Thank you.
music is my biggest passion,it's the one thing that i know i can always find solace in no matter one, something i can always find intrest deep down in every note, and something that i will always want to talk about for hour and hours on end, aswell as learn about and listen to other talk about. You have somehow captured all three of those and more in every second of every video and i have nothing but thanks to give because this is something very very special your able to do. Thank you for your time and effort into these vides and hope for more in the future!!
I couldn’t agree more. Music has been my life for so long and I just gotta talk about it. It feels like my purpose. Thank you so much for watching and your kind words!
Holy shit dude. I adore your editing style, it’s amazingly emotional. I personally love Clair de Lune, and this perspective on it was such a joy to experience, wonderful job.
While trying to figure myself out over the past two years, I've written monologues in comment sections around this site. Each one getting closer and closer to what I think to be the truth. I hope (however vainly) that this one will be the one that reflects my opinion forever. The moon has always been something I loved across my life. When I did walks with my father earlier this year, when i got a new phone and immediately used it to take pictures of an intriguing lunar phenomenon, and throughout the media I consume. In the fandoms I consider myself to be in, the ones that have become part of me (or always were), I've found Clair De Lune somewhere. (Or wish to put it there myself) In ULTRAKILL, there's a level titled Clair De Lune, and every time I start a new playthrough, I explore the level all the way through just so I can hear the titular song play in near-full. At the end of Deltarune Memes 17 (i think) on L Void's channel, he dubs a comic about Clair De Lune with the song playing in the background. It exposed me to the true beauty of the song for the first time, and I often came back to it whenever I wanted to hear it again. And in the furry fandom, which I think is the one true place for me on the internet, I haven't found a single instance of Clair De Lune yet. But I know I could maybe put it there myself someday. Something I've found out about myself is that I have this innate desire to make art. Art in the sense of not just images and sculptures, but in the sense of all types of media. I wish to create, to give the gift of my mind back to a world and people deserving. I wish to learn the skills to paint each metaphorical canvas I can, and to give back and pay tribute to the world that inspired me. I make the preparations for this part of my life with a quiet anticapatory joy that Clair De Lune embodies in its piano notes that hit just the right spots to resonate with my little cat soul. I changed my name recently in order to help me become more in-line with who I truly am, and who I want to be. I hope I find this message well in the future, and I will maybe see some of you the next time we cross paths. Ad Astra: Salem :3
I feel like Claire De Lune makes me feel like a swan, moving gracefully across the water, and like an astronaut, floating through space and experiencing things scientists of the past would dream of. Clair De Lune reunites everything into one piece of art that takes you on a journey every time you hear it.
This reminds me of a similar thing that happened on an hour long video of a donkey Kong country 2 music video. The video title was in Japanese so it was hard to look up but on it the videos comment section had people create checkpoints in which they would describe what was going on in their life. While the original video has been taken down for some time now there are copies that still have the same checkpoint system.
ive heard this song many times in my life, but because of this video, i took the time out of my day to truly appreciate it instead of just hearing it. i think that "supernatural" is a pretty good way to describe what this song can make people feel, as you said. it's touching, and magical. it makes me feel so lucky. so incredibly lucky that i have what i have in my life. so lucky i have someone to propose to, someone to pour my heart out to, someone to spend my life with, someone to make me feel like it's all gonna be ok. to those who read this, i hope you can feel that in your life, whether now or in the time that is yet to come. i hope that you can feel like everything is okay. thank you, and be good to each other and to yourselves
Claire de lune as the music that my music teacher used to play for us before concerts. Its so calming yet it hurts, like a tinge in the back of the heart
{SPOILERS FOR DANGANRONPA v3} Danganronpa V3 is one of my favorite games ever, despite its many flaws. The first trial is one of my favorite trials in the entire series and is an emotional rollercoaster, with the main character, Kaede Akamatsu, who we thought we would play as for the rest of the game, being the first blackened and being executed in a twisted way with her screwing a basic piano song. What struck me the most however, was not the moments before she was executed, but the moments after, where the new protagonist, one Shuichi Saihara, going to Kaede's ultimate lab, where he sits close by to the piano and "sees" the ghost of Kaede playing the piano. Clair de Lune plays throughout as Kaede and Shuichi talk. It's one of my favorite experiences in gaming.
I discovered your channel from your Hawaii Part 2 video, saw this - and after only two minutes of watching this, immediate subscribe. You made me tear up listening to this beautiful, nostalgic song - I look forward to seeing your next videos.
I don’t know if I’ve ever commented with a video (in all of RUclips) so much before, but I’ve loved this song since my infancy due to great childhood memories with my dad, and I liked other videos you've made as well (great voiceover/narration skills!) that just felt really connected. So I’m commenting and saying you have great skill, in my opinion (at the very least), 😅 and I wish I could learn more about why you chose your subject matter and how you think about things in general :)
for me, the word that comes to mind when seeing those comments, is "sonder" it's not quite the right word to describe the feeling of the music itself, i dont think there is a word (or words) that could ever capture that. but to read the comments does make me feel both existential and connected to the human experience, realizing that everyone is living their own lives just as complex as your own. all very different and yet all so human
All your content is wonderfull, and clearly carefully crafted. How it hasnt reached out to many more souls is beyond me, I wish to see the day where millions start appreciating the media you make. You explain things in such a way that I could never describe, but if I had to put it into words I would say poetic. Im happy to have found this channel, and hope to be one of the first people to watch the rise of it. Thank you for such beautiful content, and allowing it to be viewed for free.
I first heard Clair De Lune when I was around eight years old. I was playing my favorite Roblox game, Monsters Of Etheria. The song played in a certain region of the map every once and a while and ever since then, I’ve had this strange attachment to the song. Every time I hear it, an overwhelming sense of peace and calmness comes over me and I can’t help but stop everything I’m doing and enjoy it. I know I’m late, but what a wonderful video you’ve created.
@@fortcollinsproductions Your reply made my night!! I had watched your video, “Me”, earlier and I started looking for a certain older video you had mentioned when you were talking about your favorite and least favorite videos of yours and in the title of this video you said “(And it’s comment section)”, which caught my eye, so I found the Clair De Lune video you were talking about and looked through the comments. It was so intriguing that I thought I’d watch the video. I’m glad I did :) You’re a really cool person and your work captivates me. I like the mix between video essays and film kinda things (like your “The Repetitive Nightmare of Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared” video). Keep doing what you enjoy. Your good at it! :)
Amazing video, this manages to express Clair de Lune’s undescribability in a form other than the song itself. It feels timeless to me, while celebrating and mourning the way everything ends.
Your videos are amazing keep going. I initially loved this song so much that I learned how to read sheet music in order to play it. It took me several months but I was ultimately able to accomplish it. This song led me in to a world of classical music. On of the most beautiful compositions I have ever heard that sounds like love incarnate is Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto no 2 and I highly suggest you listen to it
i think about my beautiful mortality when i listen to claire de lune, i don't think i could get with many other experiences. it was one of the pieces that found me during a very rough time in my adolescence, maybe 8 or so years ago. i would listen to the hour version on repeat. movement one of rachmaninoff's second piano concerto and the 90s big band recording of Charles Mingus' moanin' hold similar places in my heart. i truly think music can shape people to who they are. thank you for sharing your insight, i just came from your hawaii 2.0 video and we defo have similar tastes lol definitely subscribing
Thank you so much for sharing! I completely agree, Clair de Lune has one of the strongest emotional connections with me among music. Mingus is also fantastic, I’ve been lucky enough to play a couple of his pieces and they’re always so fun. Thanks again for the support!
For me this song will always be associated with danganronpa (feel free to look it up, but major spoilers) And yet - i have always felt this song is something so calming for me, just a peace concentrate. Anyhow, great video essay - can't wait to see it again pop up in my recommendations in a few years
