In reality, it looks and feels very bad. You're feeding the algorithm with too little frames(20) for it to be able to interpolate accurately. Therefore you'll have glitches, artefacts, and input lag. Frame interpolation works how it's supposed to at a minimum 40-60 frames per second. You'd be better running LS at 2x instead of 3x in this case. And it will still kinda suck
yes definitely, idk why there is such bullshit about lossless scaling on yt these days, like what, the dev paid these people to make videos ? input lag is insane, artifact are everywhere (especially in performance mode, but you need it if you don't want the frame generator alone to hog half of your gpu power), on video it's not that bad, but in person it's a very bad experience. Having decent result with x2 capped at 30fps (no performance mode). I need the game to be running at least at 40fps uncapped in 900p to be able to hold the 30fps cap with frame gen active
which drivers are you using? lenovo or side loaded AMD? I just got the legion go and struggling with performance/over heating. Plus lossless scaling isn’t working at all. I updated via legion space to the latest release/update and then side loaded the AMD graphic driver but can’t get anything to work properly.
@@estibenalvarezg I am setting windowed but it just stays locked at the capped fps that i set in RivaTuner. I also enabled DXGI but nothing is working. **update** - did a factory reset (local install) and it now works perfectly!!
If you experience overheating on Legion Go, you can do the following: 1. Don’t let the battery charge over 80%. To do this, play some games to let the battery drain down to under 80%, around 75%, then plug it in and go to Legion Space to turn on Smart Battery Limitation. 2. In BIOS settings, change the thermal policy from STAPM to STT and also change fast charging speed to Slow. 3. Check your CPU clock speed in Task Manager. If it goes over the CPU base clock speed of 3.30 GHz, it means that CPU boost is enabled aggressively, and you must disable it. To learn how to do this, you can check out my video titled “How to Prevent Legion Go from Overheating.” I have already made a tutorial about it. 4. Always play with capped FPS whether plugged in or on battery. This will reduce a lot of heat and also give you more battery life.
How I use it: I cap the fps at 48 with legion space and max fan speed at 30w with 8gb VRAM. I play at 1200, 800 is absolutely too low. I use x3 scaling and lower the game settings so that I get (as much as possible) constant native 48 fps which results in 3x48= 144fps. No warping, no stuttering. Losless scailing does not work good with and framerates.
i think its better to target 40fps and then get 120 through fg, as 20fps input latancy is brutal. 40 fps latancy is pretty good for most singleplayer games.
Tried this and followed your settings to the letter. The FPS works but the ghosting even showed in your video is terrible in the games I play. Aka doom 2016. The tops of the gun looks like ass. I factory reset my amd control panel and limited the fps to 20fps , still terrible, even in Elden ring. refunded this. not for me, but good luck to those who enjoy it. going to wait for legion AMD Frame Gen.
The frametime for a base framerate capped at 20 FPS is 50 ms. When active lossless scaling is enabled, the frametime is 17 ms. There are two framerate and frametime counters in this video. The game is playable and enjoyable.
It depends on personal preferences; some might find it distracting with ghosting and waving distortion. Personally, I really enjoy the lossless scaling. I saw significant smooth improvements by capping the framerate at low FPS like 20, 30, and 36 FPS. It’s really worth it for a handheld owner since the device barely runs at more than 50 FPS with AAA games. After using it for a few months now, I’m used to the ghosting and waving distortion, which doesn’t bother me anymore. Plus, this software gets updated frequently, so I feel satisfied with my purchase.
@@T-PEN thanks I ordered one for $580 new off Amazon, I'll get the lossless app and try it out, I'm parted between keeping this and getting a 14-in laptop with a 4060 for 875-ish used off Best Buy. It comes down to do what I want powerful machine for biking , backpacking and traveling or do I want something I can play while lying on my back on the porch or in bed. I can't figure it out , it's driving me nuts ! LOL
@@charleyweinhardtit’s really what do you want most portability or function? Laptop is more everyday friendly like it has keyboard built in. This is way more portable carry it right in a small bag hold it in your hand easy. I’ve been a laptop gamer my whole life but I find myself always using it at my desk not in everyday scenarios. Like you can use the go for every day inconveniences eg i was waiting for my wife to get blood work it was 2hr appointment of me just sitting in the waiting room this would be so handy vs laptop I wouldn’t dream of just taking it out to play in a waiting room
@volcalstone apparently it's been on sale in the past, 80% discount to $0.99 Imo tho the dev has been updating and improving this so it's worth it. I wonder how good it'll be over the next couple of years
WOW!!! The impression of framerate smoothness did really increase by a lot. It was clear how the game became more fluid. Thats really nice.
i think X2 and capped in 30Fps will be much better for generating the 60fps for most games
future of handheld even brighter with this app, for real i'm really happy with the purchase, i used this with ar glass getting 120fps is awesomeeee
Hi mate, I’m still struggling with the the amd software settings. Can you please show or explain the optimal settings for it? Thank you 🙏
Normally, I only use RSR and Radeon Anti-Lag with AMD Adrenalin software; I turn off other features.

Well , there is a lot of tearing here but np sacrifices it for the smoothness of the game , rly best program untill now ❤

I used AMD 7840U Graphics Driver. Additionally, you must turn off Legion Go’s Overlay when using Lossless Scaling.
what is overlay?@@T-PEN
What application are you using to capture the fps of LS ?
He's using MSI Afterburner + RTSS + Hwinfo. He made a video on how to show LS FPS in MSI Afterburner RTSS. Go check it out from his channel.
Thank you for the response, appreciate it
How bad was the input delay?

To get the best performance of lossless scaling, you should turn off all features in AMD Adrenaline Software.

60 fps is enough.
@@Öyster_Boy yeah if you can achive 60fps then a 2x to 120 is good enough
This is not recommended for FPS games right? Or with the new X3 is it better? 😊
Definitely any frame gen technology is not good for FPS games at all

is this work with every games?
Based on my experience, it doesn’t work with Gameloop Emulators and fighting games like Tekken 8 and WWE. Most old and new AAA games work fine.
Lossless scaling free?
It costs 6.99$ on Steam.
It's a game changer and worth every penny for that $6.99
Buy it for support the dev bro, the price so cheap

looks ok but 35fps looks perfect
Yes, capped at higher frame rate will give better result.
