I could see going with the visuals mode on the Series S if you have a big TV and dont mind the 30fps because the 60fps is kind of soft. The Series X looks pretty amazing on both Performance Ray tracing and regular Performance mode so I doubt many would want to play at 30fps there. The game looks great though
The modes prove the point of diminishing returns with graphics. I think we can just prioritise 60fps at this point unless there's something really ground breaking.
I've tried playing on all three of the modes via the Xbox Series X, on a fairly big 2023 OLED TV... I was honestly left wondering what the actual benefit of the 'Visual mode' was??? The only thing that I hadn't noticed prior to using the visual mode was the inclusion of things like Helicopters that were flying overhead as you lapped. I'd been doing multiple laps around Kayalami and never noticed them previously using the performance mode. It wasn't until I switched up to try 'Visuals mode' and run the sound through a decent surround setup... that I was suddenly left thinking "wait!... What is that weird noise!?" Took me a while to place it, but it was the addition of helicopters that seemed to now be circulating above me. I hadn't noticed them or heard them before, and haven't gone back to 'Performance mode' to verify that they are a true addition to the game in 'Visual mode' only... But I suspect them might be! I noticed on your video at 1:18, the 'Visuals mode' is the only shot with a helicopter in it too!... It might just be a coincidence, depending on the placement of the Helicopter during the lap that was filmed for comparison etc. However it reminded me that I'd thought I'd noticed this... and not gone back to performance mode settings to check. Ps - The helicopter sound isn't that amazing!... Possibly more irritating than anything currently! 😂 It would be cool if that sound got 'overhauled' and made it sound more accurate... Then the effect would be a very welcomed additional extra to the game. Just my thoughts.
How can you not see the difference between Performance RT and Performance on Series X? Maybe it's because I used to work in VFX and I know what to look at. But the difference is pretty clear.
Im a ps guy but i’ve always loved forza, tried it on my oneX this morning, it was shocking but im looking at getting a series s i think, dont think i can justify £480 for a series X just for forza games 🤔
@@DannyD1912same i have ps5 digital and no i’m interested to buy series s Bcoz mainly we buy for forza so even forza horizon 6 comes it will run smoothly on 1080p 60fps 🙌hdr
I thought I was going to dislike the 30fps, but it really didn't bother me at all. Yet I still can't see a difference, or at least can't notice, a difference between the 3 modes other than the 60fps. So I decided to go with performance just to have the full 4k with 60fps... but then just for curiosity I switch between visuals and performance rt when there is rain or something like that.

I don't understand what you find confusing about the graphic settings. You have Visual : 30 FPS, 4K resolution, car + track ray tracing Performance RT (Ray Tracing) : 60 FPS, dynamic resolution, car ray tracing Performance : 60 FPS, 4K resolution, no ray tracing Ray tracing is only visible on shiny paint, chrome, glass, puddles, wet tracks etc. So if you're driving a matte car on a dry daytime track (like you showed at some point) you're not gonna see much. However note that ray tracing is not just a "mirror effect" (like the fake ray tracing that Forza uses for its puddles on Performance mode), its a real time image generated by tracing the path of light from the view camera. However you might have noticed that your car in the main menu is exceptionally "shiny". That's because the main menu has 4K textures, ray tracing on and 60 frames by default :D I'll just note that, in Forza's defense, ray tracing is a super quickly evolving tech that already has a successor called path tracing, so it's more of an issue of the console being underpowered than the game being poorly optimized for consoles (hence why we can't have the best of both worlds as Rich said). The game is however poorly optimized on PC, as is tradition with Motorsport titles
ughmm what? Performance RT (Ray tracing) you say is 30 fps.. .WHAT ??? No its visuals: 4k + RT + ultra + 30 fps Perf RT: = 3.5k Dyna ~4k(3,840) + RT + Ultra + 60 fps Perf: = 4k + Ultra + 60 fps PERF RT is INSANE to handle in GAME play... on this new ENGINE.. WOW :D
I was thinking the same untill i came to a conclusion it is not really worth it. Theres no point for getting a series x. You will waste money and see really no big diference in games. Yes maybe some games will look a little sharper or better but its really not worth.
@@tweetchris46 I base my opinion on what people that own both consoles say about them, in general yes there are differences but not really that big to spend money for. You notice differences if you look closely at the pixels and also will depend of the tv you got. This is amazing, the PERF RTX mode... nobody has done comparison of PERF RTX mode to RTX 4090... nobody.. there is one comparison using XSX visuals mode vs 4090 ...It looks SO CLOSE.. but people saying well xsx can't get frames.. HAHAH the dude doesn't even mention XSX is running on it's weakest setting, 30 fps mode racing? Nah, PERF RTX is basically same graphics with RT look above^ but with 60.000 MORE STABLE than pc 4090.. what do I mean? Well many MANY 4090 videos on forza 8 SHOW and EXPLAIN there Is lag and stutter using 4090, especially first few laps, so most FAKE footages is done by doing few laps on 4090 THEN filming to show 'no LAG/STUTTER' funny thing is .. XSX perf RT is basically visuals mode/4090 graphics.. very VERY CLOSE.. but it's SUPER SMOOOTH no hitch ever.
BTW.. nah nah... FH5 is probably next BEST looking game overall. ( gt7 great too guys!) BUTT This is AHEAD of Fh5 lets be real... Xbox to Xbox... FM8 does PERF RT 3.5k + RTX + 60 FPS... FH5 does PERF 1440p (2.6k) + 60 fps. OBVIOUSLY both running near ULTRA. BUT just on EVEN hardware ( XSX to XSX). Look at the PERF RT stills AND CLIPS you got here... WAY better, CRISPER, and LIGHTING next level too, I think also contact points ( cars move better). compared to FH5... which is still AMAZING.
Forza Motorsport does not run nowhere near ultra settings on console. The settings compared to pc settings are at mostly low and even in some cases lower than low settings with just a couple of settings at med/high compared to PC
