She's making a pun in the "words worth" line, referring to William Wordsworth, an English Romantic era poet, who alongside with few other poets settled in The Lake District, England to escape to the nature.

I noticed this when i first heard this! Its also an interesting fact that Wordsworth grew up in the lake district. he wrote a poem called ' Excerpt from the Prelude ' which is a look back into a moment from his childhood where he escapes his reality by ice-skating on one of the lakes in the lake district. It describes the twinkling stars as he races around with his friends playing a game, however his escape is disrupted when he is called back to the village and he is forced back into the brutal reality of his fathers death and the fact that his mother is dying too. In a way i think that there are many instances in this song where Taylor is referencing an escape from reality through nature " a red rose grew out of ice frozen ground with no one to tweet it " and " While i bathe in cliffside pools ". Just a thought!

Fun fact, “words are worth” is a fun play of words here. She is singing in this song about wanting to imitate the Lake Poets and escape with her muse to just be creative and run away from the noise, one of these poets was called Wordsworth. She is probably referring to the fact that her music got sold for 300 million dollars.
Also it’s funny that you called her romantic and a poet because these poets were part of the Romanticism.

The Lake District is a place here in the UK - beautiful and famous for the Romantic era poets who moved there.

Taylor calls Evermore the 'sister' album to Folklore. I like to think of these two albums as sororal twins.

Wisteria is a super slow growing plant, she just wants to be still, such beautiful lyrics. And really clever wordplay when she ends a line with "what are my words worth" as it harks back to William Wordsworth, who lived in the Lake District ❤

I loved to buy TS albums on release day, listen to the cashiers jokes about "oh there goes ANOTHER" Taylor, and then do a first listen on a cd player for the nostalgia of it. But quarantine put an end to my tradition. So it was def nice to have a song to look forward to on the physical album. However the actual wait to receieve it and avoiding spoilers was not so fun. I'm pretty sure I cheated and read some or all of the lyrics.

This song is oh so beautiful. Not only the sound of it, which in it of itself is simply ethereal. It combines the sadness of the overwhelming world and the feeling you need to run away that is always in the back of your mind, your escape plan, with the fact that for once that plan seems doable, because she has found someone she loves so deeply that having them around is enough. Escaping from everything means you escape from the good that comes with it, but as long as she can keep writing and as long as she has her muse it is now truly the perfect ideal place

Don’t know if you already know this but on genius when you look at the lyrics if the lyric is in gray that means you can click on it and it gives you info or details about what that particular part of the song is about. Love your reactions and can’t wait for evermore songs. Also are you planning any live? Miss those

Taylor said that she felt like hoax should be the ending of the album but after a certain time she wanted to release the lakes because it’s the real ending. If I’m right, the lakes was always on the real Cds and stuff, just not on streaming platforms

Fun fact about this song that you may want to react to, or listen too on your own time. Taylor released "The Lakes (Original Version) after this came out. The original version is the song that was suppose to be released with the album, but they felt the production was to grand to fit the rest of the album. So they released this version that you heard which is dialed back. You should react to the original version and compare the 2! Worth a listen for sure.

Well, isn't he like going through one or two misicians at once? He's doing Taylor's discography, then probably he will do Dua's, and then he would find other artists to follow. I think he has something like a list of musicians he will get into. Actually, i think you can vote on his Patreon for those singers you want him to react to
