Furthermore, when discussing LLB he implies that he is finding and/or confirming these based on a Wikipedia Platform Fighter category page, on which you can clearly see Brawlhalla listed. Putting multiversus so high over many of those other games makes no sense to me, unless you are just valuing what it does differently to smash. Just because it is different doesn’t make it good. Multiversus engine and character design leads to the game feeling extremely linear for both casual and comp players, with limited options for stages, abhorrent monetisation and a repetitive single player. They have taken away multiple benefits to the game upon it’s full release and made serious balance changes which were intended to make the game less floaty but only removed the little individuality the game had. Now all that remains are jab infinites, unsatisfying movement and little counterplay to anything. Each of the games under it I’d argue bring more to the table in the plat fighter genre. Especially Slap City, which has imo the best single player in any plat fighter. A diverse and original roster which don’t steal movesets from smash. A big list of stages and gamemodes. And an engine which both feels extremely satisfying to play in and innovates in the platfighter genre with it’s reworkings of melee mechanics and new mechanics unique to the genre such as clutch and air strongs. It’s fine to have your own opinion on games in the genre, everyone’s a little bit biased. But from this video I felt like you need to take more time to learn what each game has to offer before making a final verdict.
So, you definitely missed Brawlhalla which is still very popular. Also flash party is still active and probably the most accessible to new players, both in terms of hardware needed and ease of entry to the genre.
I love lethal league blaze! the comunity is still prety active! even if the mm system is prety dead from time to time... no regret on putting +1.2k hrs into LLB
I love the idea that every fighter game is labelled a "smash clone" like smash invented the idea of a fighting game. So I guess every racing game is a mario kart clone? Even if I had no idea what smash was, and I just wanted to make a fighting game, there'd still be dumbasses calling a smash clone. Also you forgot brawlhalla bro.

I wish more devs would try to make a serious platform fighter-ideally, one that departs from the character all-star/crossover formula and goes for a coherent and less cartoony set of characters and graphics that have a more dramatic vibe. I keep picturing something like Smash but with only sword/weapon characters…
I know you said it was opinion based, but I think the inclusion of the slime meter increases NASB2 to C tier in my book because slime is unique and interesting, you didn't seem to talk about slime, even though it should and just might be in the next smash game (if Nintendo tries to listen to its fans, hint: impossible), other than that tho yeah NASB 2 kinda uninteresting

Hm there is also the Super Smash Flash games SSF1 &SSF2 which yeah they are flash based but you can play them on emulators and such I'm pretty sure they are local only now
Underrated smash clone is tmnt smash up for the wii. There's also the CN punch time explosion game for the wii as well. As well as the digimon rumble arena games. Quite a few older smash clones as well.

Ngl I think that intro was alittle long you could have gotten the same point across with out the 50 second intro by just doing a really fast montage of different highlight clips and just the “hype” moments. Besides that I think the rest is good. But yeah I think adding a bunch of hype moments then the words the best smash clone or something to that effect

It's not. With the weapons Mechanic it is a much different game than smash

I agree with both opinions on NASB2 and Icons but I feel like ranking icons above NASB2 just isn’t right.
It’s mainly the price tag making the difference for me. I think $50 for that game is too much, especially for how hard it is to find a real player :/.
