    i would recommend against a spring upgrade with the original cylinder, mainly because it will eventually break. It was not designed for more than 1 joule springs, i think it is an aluminum body and head(correct me if im wrong) and you need steel for stronger springs or it wont last long.

    • @kokosaysnono
      @kokosaysnono  2 года назад +2

      Hey thanks for the advice and checking out my video. I’ve heard the threads can strip going 2.3+ joules over time. I was willing to take that chance as I was planning to upgrade the cylinder anyway when I had the budget for it. It never did break but I did eventually upgrade to a new action army cylinder to match the barrel. Im guessing when you drill out the hole to upgrade it your weakening the existing threads combined with it being aluminum. This particular unit was running close to 2 joules for 7+ years on that original cylinder. It could just be luck of the draw but good advice it can’t hurt to upgrade the cylinder if / when you have the budget for it.

    super good video fun to watch and informative!!! i m looking to upgrade my hop up chamber too but i m hesitating between the AAC like you or the Maple leaf one...apparently the AAC one is better but the fact that you have to have a allen key with you and take out a mag to adjust the hop up is annoying that is why i m still hesitating...any feedback on this? thanks

      Hey thanks for checking out my vid. I'm agree with the annoyance of having to use an allen key / take out the mag to adjust the hopup. Since this video was posted I have currently installed a TDC (top down center) mod for the AAC hopup adjustment. It's the Gunsmithy TDC mod which is literally a turning nob on the top of the barrel which works amazing for quick tuning. I recorded my install of it and plan to make a video on how to install it but I'd like to record some test firing shots as I didn't get any in the last video which I'm sure people were hoping to see.

      @kokosaysnono  4 года назад +1

      Hey thanks for checking out my video :) I believe you are correct the JG Bar 10 is a clone of the TM vsr 10 so most of these parts would work , AA hopup chamber, crazy jet barrel, maple leaf monster bucking , either nub tensioner maple leaf or panther stalker. mag release. The cylinder parts i'm not 100% but from what I read they should work as well. Mine already had the LayLax PSS10 Zero Trigger / piston installed which should be compatible too. I'd say research each part to be 100% sure but so far it seems they're compatible.

    Question I have fully upgraded my vsr-10 and I am now having a problem with my bbs not being consistent what should I do I am running a m170 spring and .30 gram bbs should I try running heavier bbs with the upgraded nub for the aa nub???

    • @kokosaysnono
      @kokosaysnono  4 года назад

      How’s long ago did you upgrade ? If the issues started right after the upgrade and you did cylinder work it could be grease getting in the bucking. If it’s been a while since the upgrade it could be the bucking is wearing out. Can’t hurt to try different weights to see if the results change, clean out the barrel in case it got dirty, add some Teflon in case the air seal is now an issue and if using the aa nub try reseating it as maybe it wasn’t lined up properly when the arm was put down or is catching on the edge of the HopUp window when the arm pushes down.

    • @kokosaysnono
      @kokosaysnono  3 года назад +1

      Hey thanks for checking out the video. That’s a good question this particular cylinder is like 15 years old and housed a number of different springs over the years with zero failures. I tried working the m150 in for a few months but it was still shooting hot around 2.4 joules where I need to be at 2.3joules (500fps with .20g) I’ve since upgraded it to an action army cylinder mainly for cosmetics and the fact I wanted one without a hole drilled in the side. I plan on making a part 2 upgrades video for that including the install of a action army piston and tdc mod. I may cut the m150 just to get me under the 2.3 joule requirement as my old cut spring has me around 2.10 joules with those spacers added.

    • @kokosaysnono
      @kokosaysnono  3 года назад

      Oh no that’s no good sorry to hear it deformed your cylinder. I did read online that putting too strong a spring in can cause issues with stock parts but I think they were going over 500fps when related to the vsr 10. Things like the stock trigger sear would fail , cylinder nozzle threads, spring guide. I’ve yet to experience any of those failures myself but my spring guide and trigger assembly were already upgraded when I got my vsr. It all comes down the the quality of the metal and as they say “ they don’t make them like they used too” could be why my old stock one is tougher than say what the new stock ones come with.

      Initially I got 3joules until I worked the Spring in then I was getting around 2.3 joules of energy which was exactly what I needed 500 FPS shooting .20 except I shoot .45 with it. So the fps will be lower but joules close to the same. The stock cylinder has been known to break overtime shooting above 500 FPS or around there ( nozzle threads can fail) so it’s good to upgrade the cylinder as well if you plan on shooting higher FPS/joules

    can this shoot .46 bbs?

    • @kokosaysnono
      @kokosaysnono  4 года назад +1

      It can shoot .46 but it’s about finding that happy medium sweet spot. Between spring power , the type of bucking, weight of bb and cylinder air volume. I’m limited to 2.3 Joules of energy which is approx a .20g bb shooting 500fps. Moving up to .46 you could start losing range and/or speed to the target. The 70 degree bucking I’m using recommends between 360 - 460fps setups. I’m going to be a bit below that with .43s shooting around 330fps. If I get some .46s I’ll test out the diff though. So many factors it can be a lot of trial and error haha.

      not impossible because the silencer of the gspec does not mount on the barrel flute aac .... shows under the foam green fabrics if there is a mark

    • @kokosaysnono
      @kokosaysnono  3 года назад +1

      At least 4 people owned this one before it landed in my hands so I’m guessing someone upgraded the outer barrel so they could use a suppressor. I then upgraded the outer barrel to the AAC fluted which has a removable adapter on the end that allows this silencer to attach. It’s painted and I can’t find any markings on the silencer but it screws on ccw if that helps :)

The joules are now 2.3 with .43g bbs so that’s around 340 fps. So if it was using .20g BB that’s 500fps

    • @kokosaysnono
      @kokosaysnono  3 года назад

      I thought it was the tm gspec but since it was painted I couldn’t find any markings on it. It’s basically a mock silencer that threads ccw and fits the action army flutted barrel.
