We bought one yesterday from Arrowhead BMW. It's truly incredible. The buying experience was the best! Pearl white exterior, red interior and black top.
You forgot a few things that would be he helpful in a review. The lines of the hood are not important to people. 1) You did not show the sun visors and if they had lights which I assume they do. 2) No one ever does a test drive at night. It would be nice to see the exterior lights, interior and dashboard at night. Are all control knobs and switches illuminated? Are the headlights any good? 3) What type of spare tire does it have? Looking at the tires I assume they are not run flats. 4) Are the headlights adaptive where they change positions on hills (uphill and downhill) and on curves? 5) You mentioned the glovebox but you never opened it. 6) Are the tires the same size between the front and the back? Thanks for the review.
You make some good points.. On the sun visors I could add that in on reviews. I can't do a night drive because the dealers are only open till a certain time so I have to work with what I have. This car did not have a spare, and most vehicles don't have run flats in general. The headlights are adaptive as I mentioned and I opened the glovebox at minute 9:20. Most of these things though aren't necessarily important in the review, I'm going over all of the general specs and features and if it's a car you are serious about, checking it out in person will give you a better idea if you like the car or not. But I can certainly go into some more details on some of those aspects..
We're going to talk about the "elephant" in the room, that massive grille. It doesn't look very bad, it's just that we miss the smaller grilles on the E46 and E92 models. The large grille doesn't fit this car, it's too big. Same for the 3 series.
I would agree on that! The new grill design looks much better on the M cars since they have more body lines around the rest of the car! On this 4 series, it's just the front end and then the rest of the car doesn't blend in with it!
Thanks for a great review, I am considering buying this exact model, my only concern is the temperature in the cabin with the roof up, living in a very hot climate, I am afraid it will be even warmer inside the cabin with a soft top convertible, compared to a regular roof, anyone who has experience with this ? Thanks again for a great review
There's going to be no difference at all! If anything it would be less hot because the soft top doesn't absorb heat like metal will, so you really don't even have to worry about that on this BMW!
I leased my mom a 2020 MBZ E450 convertible, it has a soft top as well and you’d be surprised how quickly the cabin cools and how the cabin is actually cooler than having a hard top. I’ve driven her car many times in 110 weather and you can’t tell you’re driving a soft top, ac keeps cabin very cool. Soft top technology has come a long way.
I live in Texas (warm weather! ). I own a 2022 430i convertible. No issues. When that top is up, it is like a coupe. The soft top has hard polymer sections underneath it. Hope that helps.
I own a 220 convertible at the moment and thinking if I go for the 430i new model or stick with the 2 series convertible. Hard decision as I love the way the 2 series convertible drives… I need to test drive the new 4 series convertible.
I think hardtops are much cool especially since they can make them look like a coupe! Not sure why BMW decided to change, but probably for the weight savings.
The 2022 model on BMWs site shows 5.9s for the 430i, 5.8s for the 430i xDrive, 5.0s for the M440i and 4.7s for the M440i xDrive..... and 3.6s for the M4 Competition
Yea I would agree it could use more power, but different market I guess. People buying this don’t want the performance but you are paying for that BMW badge. It is a nice model though!
Sucks you can't get nappa leather on the 3/4 series, without trying to go Individual. Vernasca stuff is a tad better than Dakota, but its not that great. I have it in my X3. Nappa have in M550 is awesome. Makes a big difference. And M440 convertible with shadow line will look good.
The materials seemed very nice for the seats! Maybe it was different with the convertible top, easier to clean if you leave the top down and they get dirty or something! What is the shadow line for this BMW?
@@BrosFOURRSpeed The leather is def more durable than nappa is. Which is just a more luxurious smooth leather, softer feeling. Vernasca is more processed like. Though yes, if you have young kids. Vernasca is prob a better choice. BMW makes that stuff standard on lot of models. Because honestly, even most buyers won’t spend extra $ for nicer leather. Shadow line is just package that blacks different trim pieces out. Like grille around, side mirrors, window side moldings.
Yeah they use a good line of seat materials. This is one of the better Synthetics Ive seen. I really like the super soft smooth genuine leather. And those smell so good! lol
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Most def, nappa is really nice leather. Feels much more expensive. But yeah overall BMW makes quality interiors. I think better than Benz. Particularly the C and E class. They look fancy, but skin deep are kind of hallow/cheap feeling.
The hardtop is gone for this BMW model. It looks ok, but I do like the hardtops way better, makes it a sporty coupe but also has that option to put it down!
God, that grill is horrible! What the hell is BMW thinking? I won't be surprised if we see a market for after-market grill modifications on these cars.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed - I have to say, I have actually come around to liking the grill. I don't know what happened, but one day I just started liking it. Weird.
Did BMW pay you not to say any negatives? It’s lots of little for $65,000. 5.5 secs? That 1990s performance. This should be easily a upper 4 second car. Left Arm height is awkwardly high which is poor design for a cruiser.
I don't own this BMW so I don't know the negatives. This is not an owners review of the car, this is simply just going over all the specs and what it has to offer. A potential buyer can go look at the car and decide what they like/dislike about the car and decide if they want to purchase it. This isn't a performance BMW either so the 0-60 time is respectable for a car that's not designed for it. The left arm height will be different for everyone, I thought it was fine.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yes I have, my neighbor just got one in the same color. I just really hate it, the design is amazing except the grill, it's just way to big & takes away from the other wise great redesign
Having to pay extra at $65,000 for MORE SAFETY that is standard in a Hyundai is pretty sad. Dash is already dated, same as 2018. Lack of pre braking is pathetic. I shouldn’t have to pay for more safety…..it should be standard over 30k these days.
BMW is so behind in terms of technology now. I won't buy another BMW until they launch an electric convertible. Electric version will have more storage space in the frunk.
How do you think they are behind? BMW does have tech like Mercedes Benz does, but they have said they don't do all the light emitting on the interior because it's bad for your eyes at night time! Hoping into a BMW is more of a drivers car, has the tech you need without going over board!
We bought one yesterday from Arrowhead BMW. It's truly incredible. The buying experience was the best! Pearl white exterior, red interior and black top.
Congrats!! Sounds like a great spec with the red interior!!

This is a cool green in the BMW for sure! Happy Easter!!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I know right
I can’t wait for the M4 Competition Convertible
That should be pretty cool! Possibly later this year we’ll see the convertible M4!
I love this car, in green and beige interior. I would buy it right away if I had the money
This was a cool spec! Really like the new 4 series. They drive great
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yeah, I would love to have one, the grill is powerful too, but taxes in my country are an impediment.

I think the green really makes it worth for this interior! Nice little BMW! Happy Easter as well!
U can definitely rock the convertible bro. Nice car beautiful light leather. Happy Easter! Great review!

Can you put the top down while the car in motion?
I believe it's up to 30mph you can operate the top.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed good! Just like BMW other convertibles. This is a very crucial feature for a convertible. Thank you for the reply.
I like the grill, but it is hardly a "traditional kidney design"... This is brand new.
It still retains that look of the kidney design that BMW is known for, just in a new look.

That 2.0 doesn’t do 0-60 in 5.5 that’s the 3.0 turbo 6 times.

It's lighter than the previous hardtop that BMW offered for this model. I'm sure that was a huge reason in ditching the hard top.
