Here are a few things that I did not think was worth paying for, but got it in the used car I purchased, and now thinks its great: 2 axle suspension with 22" wheels. When you put car in Sport mode it lowers by almost 2", the seats folds in around you (side bolsters) and the engine sound changes. Its cool but at the same time the ride is so comfortable in comfort mode, but sport mode makes the ride very firm so you get best of both worlds. Backup Assistant is just so useful. Driving around my son's car in the driveway into the garage is easy, but getting out often require back and forth manouvering. I dont know why its harder to get out than in, but with backup assistant, you press the button and the car gets out anywhere it got in exactly the same way. The speed limit adjustment is just the greatest feature for me. In the US they seem to see how often they can change the limits. 35, 30,50,45,50 on a 2 mile stretch. I set it to 8+, so if the limit is 35, the car goes 43 and so on. Its so convenient and much easier not to get speeding tickets. The massaging seats is said on many sites to be useless, but on long drives it is almost as relaxing as stopping and getting out of the car. It is subtle enought not to be distracting, but it really makes a big difference that you dont get stiff. Often when driving home from 12hr day at office I turn this on, with driving assistant, and B&W sound, and the trip home becomes an experience. It is really sad to see for so many people spending so much money, and fall just little short of turning a good drive into an exceptional one.
Great features you got on yours! Agreed a lot of packages and options BMW offer are actually quite nice, I just did a video covering a good majority of all them and there were only a couple I would not get such as the wifi hotspot, spare tire, and running boards. But yes I could also see myself checking off a lot of these for my next BMW!
The Driver Recorder can be used even if you're not in an accident where the airbags deployed, you can hold down the button for a few seconds and it will also save 20 seconds of video prior to you pressing the button. IMO, it's very useful in a lot of ways. Definitely get the Driving Assistant Traffic Pro, only when I went on long trips that I wished I had it.
Yes you can hold down the button to record. I do believe it only records the after 20 secs however. I personally would opt in for the new BMW dash cam. It has a lot more practical uses. Also pressing and holding the dash recorder is something that many may not think about doing when something bad happens, it's best to have these things automated.
The drive recording basically takes place of dash cam. I use dash cam in case of accidents, if I dun want to use dash cam, drive recorder will be good in my opinion.
I would still recommend the dash cam over the drive recorder. Drive recorder will only self record if someone steal the vehicle or if the air bags go off in the vehicle. Dash cams can do a better job in parked situations since many of them can record sudden movements with the vehicle say for example if someone happens to bump into it.
You got the drive recorder all wrong. That button is not drive recorder button, it is the surround view button, and driver recorder is a different app that makes use of the surround cameras, but you can get surround view without drive recorder. You can also activate it manually. I dont think you are very familiar with the car? Surround view is very, very useful and will prevent you from hitting small obstacles and scratch your car. In addition the accident recorder may just (recording all 4 sides) be evidence to save you lots of insurance money. SO this is something I would recommend everyone gets.
Good points, correct the proper term for it is surround view, you can also hold it to save a recording as well. Personally I've never used it, accident recorder is helpful but only if the air bags go off, I'd rather invest in a dash cam.
@@BeamerView but you can record manually if you have a smaller accident by holding down the button, it will record the 20 seconds before and after you push the button. it's constantly recording, just need to tell it to store the video.
@@BeamerView Thank you very much, I did not know that I can hold down the button to start recording. I would have liked to have my speed also shown/saved though because these radars in the US are often wrong and occasionally you get pulled over for speeding when you dont. Here is an interesting fact... Few years back 60GHz was approved as ISM (open) band for radar and many stationary and even in vehicle equipment is adopting it. The beat frequency of 61.5 GHz + 24.25 GHz (lane change radar on BMW) = 37.25 GHz. Therefore legal interference in police radar band causing incorrect readings.
Contrary to belief, All Seasons are useless in anything below 40 degrees F, which is the same temperature effectiveness of Summer tires. That's why if you're in an area where snow is likely or you can easily travel to the snow, get a dedicated set of winter tires. The safety efficacy is 1000x better than all seasons. To put it simply, winter tires are obviously good in winter, performance tires are great in handling, performance, and of course rain. All season are good at neither. They're just average. If you trust your life to average tires...then by all means, stick with them
Great point, agreed. It would highly depend on where one lives or what type of performance they are looking from their vehicle. All seasons are great for normal weather conditions but anything extreme such as winter, it'd be wise to opt in for winter tires.
I like the drivers assistance professional because if you have the adaptive cruise control on and you press the mode button 3 times the car will not only stop and go for you it will also start to steer for you and allow you not to have your hands on the steering wheel as long as the camera that is built into the top of the digital gauge cluster watches your eyes can see you looking at the road in front of you and i think that’s pretty cool but maybe you should try making a video on assisted driving plus on the BMW that you’re sitting inside of in this video and show how it works because I like it how you activate it because You just push the adaptive cruise control on off button, which looks like a lane keeping aid button then you hit the set button when you get to the speed you want then you hit mode three times when you’re in a traffic jam and once you hit the button three times it will not only stop and go for you. It will also take over the steering and I am thinking about getting a BMW with drivers assistance professional on it So that I can try assisted driving plus I think assisted driving plus is pretty cool because it stops and goes for you it also takes over the steering wheel as long as you’re paying attention to the road and you have to be in a traffic jam to use it. I know you called it traffic jam assistant But BMW decided to call it assisted driving plus at first they thought about calling it traffic jam assistant But they decided to call it assisted driving plus but I think you should make a video about assisted driving plus and show how it works and the cool thing about assisted driving plus you can also do hands-free lane changes on the highway and I definitely recommend everybody in the comments for this video get drivers assistance professional if they get a BMW because of the assisted driving plus feature I have seen a lot of videos about it and everybody loves it. Everybody that has the BMW loves it so I definitely recommend everybody in this comment section for this video get drivers assistance, professional on their BMW
I hate having a spot on my switch panel where a toggle/switch option would be. $100 for the 6DR Drive Recorder a tiny-tiny price to avoid a “hey, what should go here?”
Key item to note on the Four Zone Climate control, especially for X7 owners, is that it also provides heated seats and climate control for your 3rd row!
I actually wasn't aware of the 3rd row being heated, will have to check that one out, good to know! And yes climate control settings are also accessible in the 3rd row with this package.
I am considering to buy the 2024 X5 in Florida, but am not sure if I should upgrade to 21” wheels. I prefer a smooth & comfortable ride. What would you suggest - is it better to upgrade or better to go with the 20” wheels?
If smooth ride is what you prefer I would recommend the 20's, those I've always had a smooth expierence. However if you get the 21+ you're not only going to have a less smooth ride but those will come with summer tires or performance tires, so they would have to be swapped out for the winter. Just something to consider.
Haha.... did you just say someone in FLORIDA needs to swap out for winter tires?... yeah, no. I have 22" run flats, living down south and have ZERO issues and a smooth ride.
Hey Dashon, correct tires have nothing to do with HP. They do however help the vehicle perform better in terms of handling than having all-season tires. Most of my inputs are for the vast majority, but if you are a spirited driver you'll appreciate the performance tires for handling. You will however have to have a winter setup for the winter. So you must invest in that next winter.
I think the best tires to choose are the all season run flat what do you think because i live in houston, texas i don’t think there is any cold weather here always.
Correct HK is a separate option you have to get. I would highly recommend remote start if you have the option to. You can use the app to schedule it and do it from wherever you are.
Thanks Moumen for the comment! Will do, I will say the easiest way to do it is through the MY BMW App, make sure both of your keys are in the car and go into the my bmw app, you should see a blue box that says setup digital key! Hope this helps, let me know.
It's tricky. For the older BMWs id say iDrive 7 and older, you cannot pay to upgrade. They are introducing this lower end version of DAPP called Drivers Assistance PLUS. PLUS, won't have the same capability as PRO. More info here > www.bmwusa.com/content/dam/bmwusa/common/connected-drive/pdf/GSG_Driving_assistant_plus.pdf
Great video for working through the possible confusion of all BMW options. Thanks for talking up the Adaptive cruise control. It is a must have. I'd get the Summer tires and deal with possibly getting a winter set. Appearance, feel, and drive are noticeably different. Very good review.
In any 2019-2022 models, remote engine start was not included in Premium Package, but in your screenshot it shows as included. You had to pay $300 for it so I opted out since most other car brands have remote engine start for free. Does that mean now we can get remote engine start downloaded for free, just like 4 years ago when BMW outrageously charged $60-$80 for CarPlay then due to public backlash made it free on all 2019+ models? Do you know if the camera panorama view can be installed aftermarket and if it uses the same module as the rearview camera? Do you know what brand is BMW Hifi Speakers that come standard? What company manufactures them?
You can download remote engine start, but you do still have to pay for the 300, I doubt it'll ever be a free feature. The panorama camera cannot be installed aftermarket, at least not that I know of. Most of the time it's something the vehicle has to come with from the factory. I've heard that Harmon Kardon is actually the company that makes that as well, but they do not brand it that way!
@@BeamerView thanks! Do you know if there's a way to control the temperature of each heated seat settings? Even the lowest setting is too warm for me. Where I live pre ventilate with AC works better since I can schedule that to run for 30 min before departure whereas I can't schedule a remote start to run for 30 min. Ideally I can have heated seat and steering wheel turned on with preventilate for 30 min too.. Do you know how to remove the DSC, camera, PDC, Auto off button in the center console? Something got stuck under there and now it's really hard to press it so I would like to take it off and clean underneath. Do you know the max detection distance of the stereo front camera on the windshield for forward collision city mitigation? People say it doesn't work as well when the car person or cyclists in front is stationary and I'm driving 25-50 mph because the car doesn't have enough time to react, but I'm not sure how the camera logic is different if the thing ahead is moving. It's good if HK or Phillips or whatever brand also makes the base 11-speaker HiFi because frankly it's pretty crisp and rich sounds already. Also, I ended up getting the Sensatec Cognac with the standard soft touch plastic and I highly recommend this over the optional Morino real leather seats and sensatec dashboard. First, real leather requires a lot more maintenance and can be damaged more easily over time, whereas the Sensatec seats are a lot easier to clean and maintain from everyday wear and tear and the quality is pretty good. The sensatec dashboard also makes the top door window arm rests sensatec too but does not change the material of the door arm rests, like you mentioned, it's not something you typically rest your arm on, won't make much sense since Sensatec dash will rip and scratch
Hey Rolly, yes the biggest issue is the boat situation. They have the vehicles ready but boats aren't able to keep up with the demand. I know it may seem frustrating that it's not progressing, I would be too. But before ya know it it'll be on it's way. PS. I would also check with your dealer to see if they know of a way to track the boat once it gets shipped on. - I think this is the website - www.vesselfinder.com/
I got a 2025 Silver Edition with 900 miles on it, in service for three months and got it for under $69k (MSRP $81k). What made the deal really great was I got $10k MORE on the trade in on my SQ5 from the Porsche dealer, Audi dealers offered $45k and $43k respectively. I got $51k. So there is no way the place I got from will recoup on the trade. They had to have low-balled the guy who traded in the X5. I unfortunately hate the sport seats. The seat back bolsters dig into my ribs (and I am NOT big or fat). 6'1" 210 lbs Not sure what to do....
excellent! nailed it! I would still however go for the Sensatec dashboard with the non-Merino leather M-Sport seats. The Merino leather wanes off very easily, so that does not do good if you plan to stay with the car for 4+ years unless you are crazy about maintaining the leather. Depending on the region, I would also consider the 22-inch wheels and opting for the external M-Sport kits with tinted windows; I would also consider getting the BMW HiFi loudspeaker system instead of the Harman Kardon as it’s cheaper with little to no difference to the latter; lastly, I would insist in getting the Integral Active Steering for better maneuvering (here in Europe spaces are smaller). Cheers and thank you for posting the video :) I adore BMWs!
Hey Bernardo! Thanks for the inputs and love your taste of the perfect setup! That's good to know about the Merino leather, I didn't know about it going dull after 4 years. I will agree that the difference between the HiFi system and HK is very small, I would say HK is only about 20% percent better and the Hifi System does sound pretty good the way it is. I love them too, hence why I have a whole youtube channel dedicated to them hahah!
@@BeamerView Must admit that I’ve been watching almost all of them, I particularly enjoyed this one as this is the first honest video that recommends not taking the four control climate zones! Indeed many of the BMW options are sometimes a deal breaker for buying a BMW and your recommendation, at least here in Europe, shows that one can get an optimal vehicle by adding up about 20% of the basic set up. I think that your suggestion is undoubtedly based on sound knowledge and experience. It took me hundreds of videos before I got my X5 and it was worth analysing all the possibilities- only had I watched your video first :) Of course, depending on the model and the investment, I would choose other options, let’s say, for an X7 (different climate control zones could be useful depending on the location and family size)! Again I am really happy for the honest feedback and I am sure that this could serve as a magnet for new BMW customers. Cheers
@@BernardoTavora I purchased 2 years old X5 M50i from Cadillac. It has Drive Assistant Pro, Surround View, 2 axle suspension, Bowers and Wilkens Sound, Ventilated seats, Massaging Seats, Drive Recorder, Traffic light recognition, Automatic speed adjustment (of ACC according to signs) which you can adjust from +10 to -10 MPH, Heated steering, armrests and seats, Automatic Parking, Automatic Backup which is more useful than I thought, Laser light with override for US, Panoramic sky lounge light (which I think is useless), WiFi hotspot (with sim), and then everything you mentioned in video also. It took me quite a few weeks flipping through photos online, because the descriptions are rarely correct. So you have to learn how to reccognize each of these features in photos. If you can do that, you can get buy a unicorn model with all the features for more or less the same price. Since I purchased from Cadillac dealership, they do not know that these are extra paid features, and do not value all the features in their price. The only difference is you have to put in the effort to recognize which car has everything.
Got ot a side slash on my run flat tire from hitting a pothole. The AAA tow driver said BMW calls them for their customer road side assistance. And they always call them late so it’s a big wait time for the customer. Get AAA instead of the BMW service. Also, without a spare and in a bad cell area, you’re stuck. I had to cancel my date plans because of the flat and no spare. Towed it back to the dealer since all tire shops were closed in the evening. So no spare has its cons.
Great point, I can agree that if the tire is completely shredded even to the point where you cannot use the run-flat feature can be quite cumbersome. It's unfortunate that it resulted in that much damage, it usually is not the case the majority of the time. I've never tried BMW service but I'm sure that it does vary on the location of where the incident takes place. Thanks for sharing your point!
Interesting video and pretty much spot on how we spec'ed out our first X3 for my wife. I think you missed pretty few key items, such as xLine vs M Sport (huge cost difference, for mostly cosmetic changes), Heads-up display, which I also find quite useless and upgraded stereo, which again, depending on a person, can also be waste of money. For our wife's X3, we went with xDrive, xLine, with Sensatec interior, and the only options we picked were Premium package, Parking Assistant Package (the plus one is not available on X3), remote start and trailer hitch. We skipped everything else.
Thanks for your continuous updates and videos on BMW. Would you suggest adding any options on a certified pre-owned model that didn’t have it from the previous owner? 22 X6 M40i built in July. I have a Shadow line w/Connivence pkg. took it at a great price, but yearning for some extras.
Hey Wayne, many of these mentioned are from factory only. The only additional extras that you could add on would be on BMWs website or here in the USA its, shopbmwusa.com! Reach out if you ever have any more questions!
The full driver’s assistance option is great. I think it is considered a L3 self driving grade? But I put the car in drive… choose the speed, distance and the car will come to a full stop in traffic and I just tap the pedal to go. Only downfall is the car isn’t going to stop itself at a red light. So you must pay attention and intervene when needed. But it’s nice. I agree the cooled seats suck for every brand Mercedes, BMW etc… mine has the massaging seats. I love it, but I have back issues and the heat plus massage feels good. It isn’t like a vibration feel it does feel it is massaging. Live in Florida so performance tires are fine with me. I don’t deal with snow. Won’t do it again!!! But I love the F90 M5. I feel it’s the last M model that BMW hasn’t ruined and I only lack the night vision mode. Which I don’t feel is worth it.
Hey Krisrk! Thanks for the input and I'm a huge fan of the F90! =) Agreed the Driver's Assistance Pro is a must-have. I mentioned that the regular Drivers Assistance which just limits to safety features is not worth it since the PRO is an amazing upgrade. The self drive currently is L2 but of course higher levels are in the works, right now the new 7 series and a couple newer BMWs are going to have Self Drive up to 85 MPH which is awesome.
@@BeamerView thanks for the clarification. I was not sure and knew it wasn't above the L3. But looking forward to all vehicles getting self driving as I think we all benefit then more with less stop and go traffic over options such as you must buy an EV. No we need more efficiency vs only EV. EV's pollute more upfront but if we talk all cars EV +ICE having self driving then that's when it'll be the best options and less wasted time in commuting when vehicles can be closer and all speed up at the same time a light turns green vs. the waiting one by one we go... haha Love this channel!!! Great work!!!
@@BeamerView This brings up an odd question. I have the 2019 F90 M5. And it has the Advanced Driving Plus where I set the cruise control, speed, following distance. I know there is the Driver Attention menu and you can choose Sensitive or Standard. Or turn it off. Now on the updatead LCI you have that ugly blank cut out with LED's in the middle behind the wheel. But it seems prior that update the F90 has the capability to know if you're paying attention or not. Otherwise, why have the option to turn it of/on and sensitive or standard. The icon in the background is an expesso cup. Where is the camera at to see if I have my head and eyes on the road pre 2020?
Why when the Harmon Kardon was shown in a package did you not speak about same? I am in the U.K. and on my second 5 series. It would seem that different countries of the world have different packages, and names for them. Looking to buy a new 5 series I am really annoyed that buying the sports M package now does not include the Harmon Kardon unit, but a non named cheaper make. The U.K. must buy the Technology pack to get the H.K. It seems profiteering to spend £60k plus and get a cheap sound system. I know if the X5 was bought the ammount would be in the £70k bracket with same result. I love my BMW but really do think they are looking to make too much profit. Am I the only one who thinks this?
Ah gotcha, correct here in the US we do not have the technology package! Was not aware of that one, so great point you mentioned. Here HK can come as a stand alone option which is nice. The regular hi-fi system is nice but I do agree with you with the fact that a sound system such as HK should be standard, and the Bowers and Wilkins should be the real upgrade.
I love how you discount good features😅, but sure it really saves money. The exec package and drivers prof package are wonderful. One question-does exec package always come with Harmon Kardon?
'Hey Michel! Trust me, it was really hard to come up with these because they are actually really good packages, so I had to nitpick =) Driver's Assistance is nice but I'd upgrade to the Drivers assistance "PRO" - This one was a bit confusing my fault. Executive does not always include HK, for the most BMW it does not.
Yes that can be a drawback to the run-flats. BMWs can only come with a spare from the factory and the new ones that are getting released now are removing the run flats and opting for a mobility kit that would help with flats, which seems to be the best of both worlds.
@@BeamerView mobility kit or tire sealer and pump about useless. Better carry a plug kit and know how to use it and compressor. A spare is really needed even if a donut style once bead broken on tire 🛞 it’s all about accountants calling shots on products
What 😮😮😮dude Drive recorder is a most for new bmw it records everything every day like a dash cam who doesn’t want that and wireless charging is also a most because it allows u the have the digital key card and your phone as a key to start your car without the actual key 🔑
Thanks for the feedback! Agreed Drive Recorder can be handy in that sense. I do like the feature of it auto saving when an accident takes place, I don't like how it only triggers when the airbags go off, because that usually ends up with the vehicle being totaled. I would rather invest in a real dash cam at that point, those are much more advanced than the drive recorder. Wireless charging is nice, but I like to have cases on my phone that have kickstands, I also use the vent mount which requires having a magnet on the back. Wireless charging is also not required for the digital key to work, the tray is NFC. Great points!
The M50i with 22" wheels do not have an option not to have a spare. And I have had run flats since 2006 on BMWs. Only until 2008 they did not fix nails in RFT. Since 2008 they do fix nails in RFT. Walmart wont even fit RFT and other tire dealers may be full of crap and tell you stories, because they are ignorant or have too much business. I agree with your other statements.
After having driven a car without a heated steering wheel when the temps in the fall and winter are 15-30 degrees or less... having a heated steering wheel is a total game changer. Also, I have arthritis in my hands so the heated steering wheel is a must.
My esim is through AT&T. I don’t have it active as it’s not worth the cost. My phone has unlimited hot spot and I have a work and personal phone. Both are different networks so I’m confident I will always be OK. I don’t go down country roads where someone may tell me I’ve got a pretty mouth, boy. Lol
Agreed, the Wi-Fi in the car isn't worth it at all if you have it on your phone, I do the exact same and it's even more convenient because you have your phone everywhere.
@@BeamerView agreed - I did look at the pricing and I think 3GB was $15/month. That's very expensive for little data. It's me and myself. No passengers and if I do then they can connect to my car's system or they can use my hotspot if they need the data. Heck sometimes I'm using my work phone's hotspot to speed up my personal phone!
Hey Mix, thanks for the input, you're right in the sense that it would make sense to have it. I personally felt to rather have a real dash cam since it has better triggers for recording. The drive recorder is great but only records if the airbags go off, which at that point the car is going to be totaled anyway. I've seen many instances when real dash cams have been more convenient to have in situations where incidences were minor.
Great video. Wish I’d have seen this before placing my order. I did actually get the advanced driver assist professional and I stuck with the regular wheels as well. Was curious about the CL value of dashboard, charger and other options.
Well I like most of the videos made by this account but this one is very misleading and a recommendation for packages to avoid based on his personal opinion obviously , and makes very little sense. I think dash cam is super important to have and most vehicles don’t have the implementation of their 360 cameras to be a dash cam here u can get it for free or almost free. Worth every dollar. Same goes to most options in this video like contouring seats , no comparison. Just try it on your own.
Thanks for the feedback, I agree personal opinion greatly. I personally never seen myself use the drive recorder. Yes' it is a good option worth getting for some but I personally prefer to have a dash cam handy since it's more likely to record in better ways than just when the airbags go off. The majority of the customer's i've spoken with have not even set up the function to auto record if there was a car accident, which I do plan on making a separate video for since it's very important to setup. But, yes ultimately the rest of the options i've either never used nor could tell the difference. Thanks again!!
First thing Drive Recorder. I got into an accident where another driver merged into me. I was not able to steer out of his way because there was a curb on my right and he as coming from my left. I have a $500 deductible insurance so I had to pay to get my car fixed since he didn't admit fault. Most people don't admit fault. The first thing the Police Officer asked me was do I have a camera recording. So this option would have saved me about $400 cause he hit me.
Great point! I can agree in situations like that it can be a life savor and save thousands. I personally would prefer to get a real dash cam since these days they are designed to pick up even the slightest amount of damage and have other capabilities like wi-fi and being able to have the video on your phone as well.
Very true, these are more just my personal opinion. I am doing another version of this too that goes over every package and option, should be more helpful.
I have a 2016 BMW X5 xDrive40e It does not have CarPlay. I saw a RUclips Video of a person adding CarPlay with a software upgrade only, with no wires or hardware installs. The Video said, If I provided the last seven characters of my VIN and a photo of my map version, he would send the software upgrade program to install that would activate CarPlay. Exhibit A: ruclips.net/video/Wo-DOVINXfA/видео.html Is such an upgrade possible?
I personally have not heard of a way to get it that specific way. I would refrain from anything that may seem shady. I would look on amazon and find one that suits your vehicle and have a tech install it.
Haha mainly all the little things. Left out the major ones like drivers assist pro, parking assist plus, all the things that come in premium, HK, etc. Trust me it was hard to come up with these!
The wireless charger is nice but it doesnt fit my s22 ultra. It’s nice for passenger charging though. Also for those of us in the Deep South the X drive is a waste, we just do not need it.
That is what I did for my 17 3 series, best bang for the buck if you're looking for the best value. For many leasing seems to be viable if they put on less miles, and like the fact that they don't have to deal with repairs and major maintenance.
Go figure people don't want a spare tire would fit on the side of the road waiting over a hour or more to lazy to change a tire sitting on the road over a hour hows that not more dangerous 🤔🤔🤨🤨
You dont know that the wireless charger is also an NFC port? Do you? So this allows you to either use your phone to unlock and drive the car, but also allow you to assign a temporary key to a family member or your wife. You can make the key expire so they can only use it once. This is for many people very useful who have families.

Yes you can hold down the button to record. I do believe it only records the after 20 secs however. I personally would opt in for the new BMW dash cam. It has a lot more practical uses. Also pressing and holding the dash recorder is something that many may not think about doing when something bad happens, it's best to have these things automated.
@@BeamerView The drive recorder is recording constantly and in case of accident it saves 20 seconds BEFORE and AFTER the accident.
@@kardkovacsi He wasn't aware of that feature. It's very useful, however.
Are low profile, high performance all season tires available from the dealer? Or, is it a better deal to install privately with an aftermarket brand?
They should be available by the dealer. I would get a quote from the private place and have the dealer try and match the price.
What about parking assistance package?
Parking Assistance package, I would get because it is only 700 hundred dollars and something you will be using everyday.
Thanks
Can those packages be purchased for download to vehicle if after purchase. Ex..2016....can I buy these packages if I bought a 2016 bmw x6 m.
Michelin cross climates would beg to differ. Only thing is they pick up nails and screws like no other tire
Agreed it's my favorite too!! Would never buy another BMW Without it.
I hate having a spot on my switch panel where a toggle/switch option would be. $100 for the 6DR Drive Recorder a tiny-tiny price to avoid a “hey, what should go here?”
Yes, I'm not a fan of those blank buttons, just makes the consumer feel like they missed out on something! Drive recorder is okay imo.
I order my 2023 BMW x1 2 months ago, the sales person told I should get the performance tires because they limit my HP. I feel like I was lied to.
All seasons are fine for TX weather. If you wanted more traction you could get the summer tires and use all season for the other parts of the year.
Can you make an x1 course?
Sure will be out in a few months, currently working on the X5!
You can record anytime with the BMW Drive Recorder by hitting the same button and hold it
Correct!
Do we don’t get the harmon kardon sound system normally, And tell me that, Is remote start perfect to choose for a new bmw.
Correct HK is a separate option you have to get.
I would highly recommend remote start if you have the option to. You can use the app to schedule it and do it from wherever you are.
Can u please make a video about the digital key for 540 2023
Thanks Moumen for the comment! Will do, I will say the easiest way to do it is through the MY BMW App, make sure both of your keys are in the car and go into the my bmw app, you should see a blue box that says setup digital key!
Hope this helps, let me know.
If you don’t buy DAPP, can’t you just pay to get it enabled in the future?
It's tricky. For the older BMWs id say iDrive 7 and older, you cannot pay to upgrade.
They are introducing this lower end version of DAPP called Drivers Assistance PLUS.
PLUS, won't have the same capability as PRO. More info here > www.bmwusa.com/content/dam/bmwusa/common/connected-drive/pdf/GSG_Driving_assistant_plus.pdf
Hey is launch control only for M version? Or can I do it on my XDrive30i?
I have seen it done on non-M versions, I have a video on the channel that shows how to use it too. Give it a shot!
Great video for working through the possible confusion of all BMW options.
Thanks for talking up the Adaptive cruise control. It is a must have.
I'd get the Summer tires and deal with possibly getting a winter set. Appearance, feel, and drive are noticeably different.
Very good review.
Thanks Dan, agreed. Have a dedicated set of tires per season is going to give the best driving feel by far.
I got the 23 230i in premium package and so am good to go. The cost of the next one up is a bit high.
Good Choice!
Do you know if it’s normal for my m340i order to be stuck in Ready for Transport for over 3 weeks?
Hey Rolly, yes the biggest issue is the boat situation. They have the vehicles ready but boats aren't able to keep up with the demand. I know it may seem frustrating that it's not progressing, I would be too. But before ya know it it'll be on it's way. PS. I would also check with your dealer to see if they know of a way to track the boat once it gets shipped on. - I think this is the website - www.vesselfinder.com/
Yea mine was in transport for about 4-5 weeks can’t remember.
@@stevensagun6682 Its been 1 month so far, hopefully it ships soon
I got a 2025 Silver Edition with 900 miles on it, in service for three months and got it for under $69k (MSRP $81k). What made the deal really great was I got $10k MORE on the trade in on my SQ5 from the Porsche dealer, Audi dealers offered $45k and $43k respectively. I got $51k. So there is no way the place I got from will recoup on the trade. They had to have low-balled the guy who traded in the X5. I unfortunately hate the sport seats. The seat back bolsters dig into my ribs (and I am NOT big or fat). 6'1" 210 lbs
Not sure what to do....
Excellent informative video - big thanks. Helped med a lot 🙂
Great to hear!
excellent!
@bernadoTavora I think the Harmon Kardon is better than the HiFi system. Could be the type of music and volume where the difference comes in.
Great points mentioned there! You and the fam got a perfectly spec'd out X3 IMO!
@@BeamerView Thank you you so much. Love the channel. You're doing us a great service.
Agreed the Driver's Assistance Pro is a must-have.
EV's pollute more upfront but if we talk all cars EV +ICE having self driving then that's when it'll be the best options and less wasted time in commuting when vehicles can be closer and all speed up at the same time a light turns green vs. the waiting one by one we go... haha
Love this channel!!!
Thanks for taking the time to reply, wish you had commented on a car costing £60k plus and getting a different sound system from many previous years!
@@gordonholmes3500 thing is, UK packages are very different to US packages.

'Hey Michel! Trust me, it was really hard to come up with these because they are actually really good packages, so I had to nitpick =)
Driver's Assistance is nice but I'd upgrade to the Drivers assistance "PRO" - This one was a bit confusing my fault.
Executive does not always include HK, for the most BMW it does not.
You can also manually activate the drive recorder by longpressing the button. This will store video of idiots you meet on the road
Haha! Yes thats true, I found this out later on!
Runflats suck , get noisy and you have to replace both tires if they are half worn and one gets a flat . If you have X drive ALL 4 !
Great points!

Why wouldn’t you want the recorder and you can never know when or how you’re gonna meet in an accident???
Hey Mix, thanks for the input, you're right in the sense that it would make sense to have it. I personally felt to rather have a real dash cam since it has better triggers for recording. The drive recorder is great but only records if the airbags go off, which at that point the car is going to be totaled anyway. I've seen many instances when real dash cams have been more convenient to have in situations where incidences were minor.
Great video. Wish I’d have seen this before placing my order.
I did actually get the advanced driver assist professional and I stuck with the regular wheels as well. Was curious about the CL value of dashboard, charger and other options.
Glad it helped
The run flat tires are terrible - I still wouldn’t get the spare tire though :-)
Luckly, I've only had to encounter using them once, wasn't too bad, I did have to replace the whole tire though =/
I never op in for the Drivers ass pro package but I also don't trust automation when it comes to driving lol
True, sometimes it could do more harm than good. I always get a little too comfortable when I'm using mine!
Drive recorder is only $99, why would you not get it. It could save you a lot of hassles in an accident.
Good point, kept these with prices aside.
Sorry, I can't agree with most of these, it's completely subjective depending on the person purchasing, and how they intend to use their car.
Very true, these are more just my personal opinion. I am doing another version of this too that goes over every package and option, should be more helpful.
Yes this is very accurate. They really get noob bmw owners with those unnecessary options.
Glad you think so!
I would much prefer regular tires with a spare than run flats
I have a 2016 BMW X5 xDrive40e
It does not have CarPlay.
I saw a RUclips Video of a person adding CarPlay with a software upgrade only, with no wires or hardware installs.

Exhibit A: ruclips.net/video/Wo-DOVINXfA/видео.html
Is such an upgrade possible?
I personally have not heard of a way to get it that specific way. I would refrain from anything that may seem shady. I would look on amazon and find one that suits your vehicle and have a tech install it.

I try to be funny where I can =)

Haha mainly all the little things. Left out the major ones like drivers assist pro, parking assist plus, all the things that come in premium, HK, etc.

If you drive a 750xi, then you must have the autobahn package.
Love that package!
Why not buy 12 to 18 month old used , fully loaded and save a fortune.
That is what I did for my 17 3 series, best bang for the buck if you're looking for the best value. For many leasing seems to be viable if they put on less miles, and like the fact that they don't have to deal with repairs and major maintenance.
slowly ... slooooooowly
.... slllllowwwwwwwwwwllllllyyyyyyyy..
Bullshit! You can repair runflat, you can fix it yourself at 5 $, I do that for over 15 years!
Possible, but not recommended.
Don’t need to move your hand that much.
It's got a mind of it's own =)
@@BeamerView hahahaha I feel you
Go figure people don't want a spare tire would fit on the side of the road waiting over a hour or more to lazy to change a tire sitting on the road over a hour hows that not more dangerous 🤔🤔🤨🤨
You dont know that the wireless charger is also an NFC port? Do you? So this allows you to either use your phone to unlock and drive the car, but also allow you to assign a temporary key to a family member or your wife. You can make the key expire so they can only use it once. This is for many people very useful who have families.
Vehicles with the digital key feature (key card, phone) also come equipped with the NFC reader without the capability to wireless charge.
Car i ordered has a wireless charger but no keyless entry or digital key. two are not part of the same thing.
I wouldn't buy a BMW at all ....they're a nightmare when things start going bad
Just got to take care of it!
