Not sure how long ago you played it, but there have been several patches that have greatly improved the game compared to how it was on release date. FYI, Chloe is 16 in this game. It's about 2 years after her dad died and Max left for Seattle. She was 19 in the first game. (and Max was 18) I love this game. It really helps you understand why Chloe is the way she is at the beginning of the first game. Girl has seen some stuff. One tip: Be sure to check Chloe's journal and text messages during the dream sequences. If you replay the game, try gaming with Steph and Mikey. It's more than just a throwaway scene.

Unfortunately, this journey will be shorter given the simple fact that the story will be "compressed" into just three chapters (which I consider a sad waste, as the plot could be developed with more care and depth if the traditional five chapters were available), but I understand that this game touches on an interesting side of Chloe's life and her latest adventure partner: Rachel Amber. You can accuse me of being a hopeless romantic, but ahhh... I'd be lying if I said I wasn't intrigued and fascinated by the prospect of knowing how the relationship between the two girls evolves in greater detail. It may seem nostalgic of me to say this, but even the soundtrack brings back many memories. Again: all of this just makes me regret the fact that there are fewer episodes exploring a previously unseen part of the story. So many years have passed and I still haven't recovered. * I've only played the classic (or old) version of the game on PS4.
Wooow! It’s amazing how much this game has made such a big impact on you. I’ve only played the first episode but so far I have to say that Chloe and Rachel’s chemistry is amazing. I absolutely love them together. I think Rachel might become my favorite character in the series but it’s too early to say. There’s a lot more music throughout episodes in this game than in LIS from what I remember. It’s very fitting for the game and quite enjoyable~
I've noticed several issues with the remastered versions of Life is Strange: Before the Storm and Life is Strange, and it's baffling that these problems still persist after 2-3 years. In this particular playthrough, I saw some really strange bugs: Visual Bugs: In one scene, Dinah's earring had a weird lighting bug, making the flicker way too big. Character Positioning: There was one instance where characters faced away from each other instead of towards each other during a conversation, which was really immersion-breaking. Clothing Glitches: Chloe's outfit randomly changed mid-scene, with a sudden white flash, and then switched back in the next scene. It's crazy how inconsistent these issues are, as other players didn’t experience them at the same time. On top of that, the remasters have this odd mix of high-quality character textures and low-quality environmental textures, which makes the game look even worse compared to the original. It’s funny and annoying how a more expensive remaster can have these kinds of problems. Are people who defend this blind or just in denial?
SO glad you're back in the Bay so soon! :-) I think Deck Nine did a great job taking a face on a missing-persons poster and building her up into a solid character. I'll add my voice to those encouraging you to take some more time with this, poke your nose everywhere and talk to everyone. More *YOU* interacting with this game will def be more fun for us too..! The new voice cast does take some getting used to. My two biggest disappointments (aside from Chloe a'course) is William and Samuel. The original William sounded *exactly* like young, red-headed puppet Santa Claus (if you know the old holiday TV special from the 70's) which was perfect and, while original Samuel was charmingly odd, prequel-Samuel is a stone cold creeper..! Even his squirrels think he's nuts. ;-)
Not sure it's a metaphor at the end sequence. This story's universe has people in this area who gain subtle powers. Rachael is either a pyro (controls fire) or has something to do with wind. Some think it's wind given her personality. But others think she is a pyro because she was seen on fire in the past dream sequence Chloe had. But as we know, she didn't live long enough to really find out. Then we have Max who can time travel obviously. Not so subtle but may appear that way to others around her. Life is Strange 2... well... you'll see. No spoilers. And then True Colors we have a visual empath. And that is not a spoiler because by then it's obvious. It's literally in the trailer.
Aww you really should have played the D&D sequence. So fun. It explores the character of Steph more. And should have talked to Skip for that matter. Really fills in the world. That's probably why things feel awkward. All the people matter in the story, it will feel empty if you don't know them and run through it.
Just like at some points on the first game, you seem to be in sync with the game at 03:35 Nice. Chloe's voice actress Ashly Burch couldn't be part of this game, as her union was on strike at that time. But she was involved (don't know how much) with the writing.

Weird. The PC version of this doesn't have these problems at all from what I've seen. That's really unfortunate. Hurts the immersion of the story.
