Of course, from a financial standpoint, it would better to buy a home instead of renting in LA. Thanks for the house tours. That floating house at 17:00 looks very interesting :)
@@mandaleemilly6367 I think they both own the Seattle townhome. Monica lives there and manages the tenants (roommates) and Shelby is a silent investor.
The first thing that popped in my head when I saw the Vlog title was the line from "Sleepless in Seattle" where he says "It rains 9 months a year in Seattle!" lol! You should think of doing "Acid Staining" to color your polished concrete. It will help any patches they do blend in, because new concrete won't be the same exact color as the old, and you can make it a blue color like the tile you were looking at! Don't worry about the small "veining" in the concrete, (but do fix the big ones of course!) it adds character to the look when it's polished. In construction we have a saying "There's only 2 kinds of concrete. Concrete that's cracked, and concrete that's going to crack"! lol! That "Waterfall" kitchen counter in the first house was cool, but the last one would be really nice to be in! Hope you pursue your Realtors license and open "Twin Church Realty" with Monica!
Dealing with new home interiors for 15 years I can tell you that trends change every 4 or 5 years , maybe not drastically at first but they evolve to where within 6 to 8 years interiors will start to look dated within that time frame so by the time you ever get ready to resale the house some of what you are doing now may need to be updated again. So that is another reason to go with the concrete.
After you are done with the Palm Springs house, you should get a realtor to estimate the value to see how much it increased. I would love to know if you could potentially profit if you sell the house!
Popcorn ceilings are ugly as sin, but they actually serve a purpose: sound abatement. Think twice about scraping off the popcorn ceiling without taking other measures. All it takes is one heavy walker or a heels fan to make you hate a place.
Fun Fact: The lymphatic system isn't circulated using the heart's pulses; It actually circulates through exercise or any other strenuous activity that makes you essentially sweat. My professor lectured about that one day in class and anytime I'm sick, I go for a run/walk and I usually feel better afterwards because your lymph nodes drain all the toxins and dead pathogens they've filtered.
The fact that you always looks less puffy after working out and doing your draining routine means that one day your face will be totally back to normal!

Hey! I am a naturopathic student of medicine (at Bastyr in Seattle!) and I actually have really similar issues with lymphatic drainage, despite never having to undergo the jaw surgery you did. Unfortunately, mine is natural! I watched your video and learned a lot as my mother is preparing to undergo a similar procedure. You may never see this, but I just thought I'd share some stuff with you that might help get that lymph flowing faster and also give you some hope that it will get better! Why? Because our face and the beautiful bones that make up the architecture of our face and skull are apt to shift and move constantly! Craniosacral therapists work by gently palpating the joints that exist in our cranial and facial bones and can actually really get things moving in the most significant of ways. Sometimes our bodies need a little help re-aligning themselves, particularly after undergoing a surgery as drastic as the one you have recently undergone! Something to consider. Further, here are some more tips I have accumulated over the years for lymph drainage: - Decrease salt (increase water intake, particularly before bed. I know it sucks to pee in the middle of the night, but that fluid flow really has made a huge difference for me and the puffiness, particularly in the morning when I am most puffy). - Good job noticing how working out contributes to reduced puffiness. Indeed you're right, the increased blood flow also increases lymphatic flow and thus, lymphatic drainage! Something to also note that ab workouts and literally any cardio are my #1 for getting this done. SWEAT. Steam rooms, sauna (they make these personal sauna blankets that you can lay in and sweat in, in the comfort of your home without buying a whole sauna), cardio with under armour on (just be careful haha) --sometimes with lymph congestion, the issue really comes down to issues with detoxification (and/or liver detoxification), so I would definitely give a visit to a naturopathic doc to see how your liver is detoxing and if there is any kind of supplementation that could be added to help rev up these processes and help your body heal, reassured that it's working well and safely. - I know you've mentioned that you have tried lymphatic drainage and I know Tummy Temple in Ravenna does a lot of it and I go there. I love Christina! Finally, I just wanted to remind you that your brain is slowly having to re-map out where your jaw is now located relative to where it was previously located! This inevitably means that there is going to be some awkward stages of learning how to talk and eat and do all of the amazing things we do with our mouth and jaw. That's no easy task! Give yourself grace, and have full faith that your healing is not complete and it will absolutely get better. I can already see differences from your last video to now, which is wonderful so congratulations! Anyways, that was SO long! I apologize. Best of luck on your healing journey :) - Olivia

Hi Shelby. I think you look so great! Your face looks amazing. I know you felt at odds with your jaw surgery results, but it’s shaping up really nicely. It can take up to two years after surgery for swelling to go down and for your face to be fully healed. Anyways,I think you should move close to family. A lot of content creators are moving out of LA as WFH becomes more and more prominent. I don’t know your financial situation, but I suggest either buying something small just outside of LA or moving to Seattle and being close to family. You can’t beat having that connection with people. Friends are great but mom, dad and siblings are the best.
Even before you mentioned the swelling going down, I noticed it too! I didn't think your face looked swollen before but now I see what you're talking about, it never looked bad tho!!
absolutely hate popcorn ceilings, college dorm room had them and the beds were lofted, so when you wanted to stretch when you wake up, just scrapped your knuckles and now you are awake.

Give yourself grace, and have full faith that your healing is not complete and it will absolutely get better. I can already see differences from your last video to now, which is wonderful so congratulations! Anyways, that was SO long! I apologize. Best of luck on your healing journey :)

I knew exactly where that first house was the moment you guys walked up to it. The park at the end of the street is my favorite place to sit when I’m on a break from work
YES MOVE TO SEATTLE!!!
Noooo move Bellevue instead. Boujie and clean with no state income tax or major issues with violent homeless peeps.
Bellevue is very nice but feels so suburban! I would just feel out of place at my age/stage of life there I think haha
@@shelbychurchvlogs lol because 20 somethings don’t live in Bellevue... what? Y’all are so obsessed with appearance it blows my mind.
@@shelbychurchvlogs May as well start thinking 5 yrs ahead. It'll come quick :)
Only do it if you aren't going into extreme debt to buy a place. Buy within your means.
*_Yes._*
Just wanted to say that your face looks really good😲❤️ I’m loving the results ❤️❤️❤️
Shelby! I can attest that your face looks even more beautiful then usual! Definitely a little more 'chiseled.' Honestly you look amazing :)
I think those zoom meeting are a great opportunity for some twin shenanigans!
No. Lovely city, but it rains way too much. Polished concrete is a great choice.
i haven’t watched many videos since your jaw surgery and bruhhhh your face looks amazing!! your so pretty im jelly hahaha
Guys, my honest opinions, you are living a good life. Yet our necessities as humans always ask us for fulfillment. Whatever that means for each one of us as a person. I am really enjoying this blog and look forward to visit Washington and Seattle but I cannot cross the mexican border because of the shutdown here in Baja (south of California).
If you are reading this have a nice days and work for your projects. Good luck, good human and be nice with people
Monica looked nice as the housing expert, bless her, she's really trying and progressing,I hope Mon enjoys it❤️🇬🇧👍 nice video shel!
The 2nd condo is the best ! ❤️❤️❤️
Have you guys considered concrete countertops?! I love the polished concrete floor!
The view from that first house was amazing!
Super excited about concrete. Didn’t know it came in tiles.
I live in Seattle and am from here and want to leave but also have that dilemma of wanting to stay close to family. But also being away from family can be nice too. Such a hard decision!
Love cow🐄and teddy🐻
I moved away from Seattle a little under 4 years ago. The cost of living out there is INSANE... So happy I moved from there when I did. I now live on 4 acres in the middle of nowhere!
