He was magnificent playing for the North Adelaide Roosters too. I was
fortunate to watch Darren, Andrew and the entire North Adelaide side
play some of the very best football ever played throughout the mid and
    late 1980s. Very blessed indeed!

By the way any young fellas out there, Jarman also played for Hawthorn and was arguably at his best there.

He could have been in the Crows' inaugural team, but their team manager Neil Kerley annoyed him so much that he suddenly signed with Hawthorn.

Very lucky to watch him as a young man at North Adelaide football club where he and his Brother Andrew were just mesmerising to watch, great days in the mid 80's with my Dad and Grandfather watching these two weave their magic from the stands at Prospect Oval.

Jarmans 97 GF was the first footy game I watched. I was 12 and raised in an English family who didn't
Like AFL. Was hooked from that day and imitated all his GF goals in the back yard.

Gotta say...This compilation is far from complete. In fact it's disrespectful to DJ and Hawthorn. But that's the AFL for you. DJ played his best footy, aside from the '97-'98 GFs, at Hawthorn. He was superb and a lot faster then. Anyone who saw him gracing the wide flanks at Waverley knows what I mean. He seemed to be untouchable in Brown and Gold and his kicking was peerless. I'm lucky to have seen him on his absolute prime.

There is an 18 minute highlight package of his time at Hawthorn, and every second of it shows what you have said. It is hard to conceive of a more complete footballer.

Two legends of the game, Darren Jarman and Drew Morphett. What more can i say. 😁

  • @bouwebear597

He played half his career at Hawthorn, but whoever it was that "works" for the AFL tasked with compiling the highlights reel was too lazy to find anything. He played in a premiership in his first year at the hawks, so it wouldn't have been that hard to look. Believe me, over his first five years there were many highlights. Oh well, down the Memory Hole.
I'm waiting, when the time comes, for the same person to compile the top 5 for Buddy...all Swans probably.

    • @colinoz
      @colinoz 4 года назад +2

Bouwe Bear he was benched in the hawks premiership and lowered his colours.
But yes there were many highlights when he eventually found form with the hawks and hit Dunstall on the chest lace out many times.
He was a master of the balk/dummy whatever you call it and skilled on both sides.

Fudd played his best football with North Adelaide at Prospect Oval along with his brother Andrew.(Jars) Would like to see a compilation of those days.

That's a stupid criticism of the AFL's video editor. Somebody else had compiled & posted Fudd's Hawthorn highlights 4 months earlier: ruclips.net/video/VrUCf9IPr-4/видео.html

Name a better two sided player than Jarman? There’s a couple of Hawthorn moments that should have been on this list. Also name a player with a better fake and run around?

    Either foot
If you're either foot you are choc full of confidence and a 30% better player.
