They are to different stations of the city loop 4 all together the other 2 are Parliament and Melbourne Central.

Southern Cross Station handles regional train traffic as well as suburban trains whilst Flinders Street Station is the main station for suburban trains. Flinders Street Station is the busiest station in Melbourne followed by Southern Cross Station.
