PowerMac G4 - Part 4

Time for another update on my Sawtooth PowerMac G4.
The ATI Radeon 9800 I had installed fried itself. I had to use the original Rage graphics card for a while. I picked up a new OEM ATI Radeon 7500 from eBay and installed it. I don't really plan on using this machine as my main Mac anymore but it is still a great great Machine. Long live the PowerMac G4!

@East Coast Brush Works I took the HD from a Powerbook G4 that had leopard installed and plugged it into the PM G4 and it booted to leopard. Then I cloned the laptop drive to a desktop one. The drive I use is a Seagate Barracuda 7200 120GB. The Dual 450 G4 was just an extra addition I added on since OS X supports dual cpus and the logic board revision could support it. If i was going to do I clean install, I would use a tool called LeopardAssist that "tricks" the mac into thinking it has a 867MHz CPU.

@athfdrizzle Yes. The GeForce2 MX should be adequate for basic web browsing and standard video. Also as a plus, Quartz Extreme will be enabled which will make the OS run a bit faster and smoother.
However, RUclips and other flash videos will be best if you play it on the lowest quality (240p) or you just download the video directly to your Mac.

you need to use a agp 2x card
the nvida card was a 8x or 4x

Hey I have a Powermac G4 (Digital Audio) 533Mhz and the video card sucks it is just like the one you used with the 16mb. Do you think if I used a NVIDIA GeForce2 MX with 32MB of SDRAM that it will allow me to watch videos on the internet of course not being HD but standard quality. thanks. :)
