Shootouts like this, where mics are placed the mics in the same position, have an inherent problem which is that you wouldn't do it in real life. If you were actually making a recording you'd optimize the mic position to hear what you wanted. It could be that the character of a mic simply doesn't sound pleasing in a given scenario but just as often a slight adjustment in position can make a huge difference. Everything inside me wants to sooch the 141s over to the right a little to see if the sound opens up a bit more. That said, to my ears the C451 is _the sound_ of acoustic guitars. KSM141 has always tended towards a boxy sound.
Great sounding acoustic and playing. I think I prefer the Shure here, especially when you strummed.
I prefer the AKG : clearer and more detailed.
