I get a really good Mustaine tone w/ my Jet city head. Only time I use it really when doing "deth" stuff. But it is so crisp and clean but great overdrive.. I'm liking them more and more.
I had a single channel Jet City combo, and I couldn't get a sound I liked out of it, but man! You make that sound good!!! Are those active pickups in your guitar?
Hey Matt...have you ever had a chance to play their 100HDM? It's supposedly the overdrive circuit from the SLO in a more modern sounding (and affordable) package.
Matt can I ask what formal music tuition you took? I'm assuming you write all the parts from what I've read so far but I've not seen you play keys - yet you have a distinct understanding of musical composition and theory, not something anyone can teach themselves at your age. I cut my teeth on Christian music - mainly because it was 'acceptable' en-mass if you said 'We're a Christian Rock band' - in the 90's that was like your 'Licence to play rock in church' lol. You have true talent, I'm too old and crap and married with kids etc blah blah - you can't have both. I love your music - tripped over it here in the ad for Ghost ship and some of your collaborations are phenomenal - I describe you as being to Christian Metal as Toumas Holopanien is to Symphonic Metal - incredible talent, plus you can sing! Truly inspiring!
when you had jet city in the title, first thing I thought of was jet city woman from queensryche and then I read the description and you were talking about them. used to love that band just didn't appreciate Geoff Tate insulting Christians in his interviews.
Matt, I'm going throw this out .. If Theocracy is ever considering doing a cover .. A cover to publish on an album .. Consider this .. This will blow some minds, if considered, attempted, and accomplished .. The song: Thistles The album: As Above - So Below (2007) The band: Deliverance It is an 11 minute instrumental epic .. There are epics, and there are instrumentals .. Rarely do the two meet .. Most have probably never heard this .. I believe "As Above - So Below" is Deliverance's single best album to date .. I prefer it to "Weapons" (WooW), and "Stay" (SoE) .. I could go on, but not needed here .. Thistles is hard, but I believe Theocracy can do it .. I wonder if a choral track could be added here .. A choral without words .. More of a "coloring" or added ambiance via voice .. Perhaps Jimmy P Brown would be even more the impressed here ..
first I thought sweet Matt is doing Jet city woman by queensryche then it was nope then I thought hey wait he is doing a cover of a judas priest or black sabbath song which I was hoping they would do a covers ep anyway
Amp: Is called Jet City
Matt: *Mentions Queensrÿche in description of video*
Could listen to these riffs for days. So sick. I think that Krank is still the best though, I'd never heard of that company before these vids.
Love the new album and hope you can play here in Houston. Love y'all and stay awesome
I'm in San Antonio I wish they would play anywhere in Texas I'll gladly drive there to see them
I'm in San Antonio too and have been waiting years to see Theocracy. Come on down boys!
Edward L what’s up Edward, I guess I’m 3 years late
Awesome riffs man .
Thank you for this video, I'm thinking of buying a Jet City amp.
Sounds so much better than the somewhat sterile mark IV metallicopy sound you go after in some other videos.
Those amps respond great to boosting.

These were designed by Mike Soldano if I remember correctly. . .
Correct!

I haven't, but I've heard good things! I think that one has the "deep" knob as well.
