My lolo, PFC Segundino Atrero is a member of the 10th BCT alongside Cap. Conrado Yap. He is a machine gunner, he also has been featured in the Military's star and stripes newspaper of April 28, 1951. I remember all of his stories about how bloody the battle of yultong was. He said that it was so dark that they relied on sounds and muzzle flashes to engage fire on the enemy. The number of the enemies is so enormous that they were ordered to stay on their foxhole and shoot everything that moves and make sure they will kill at least 10 enemies per soldier, by the morning he saw piles of bodies few meters away from his foxhole. He died at the age of 94 last January 3, 2021. I'm always proud of you, lo.

However, instead of enrolling to law school he signed up for the army (he was maybe 16 when he entered, he lied about his age coz he was so earger to enter the army). That time the bravest filipinos for them are those from macabebe pampanga.. this history is not included in our national history but you can search on it. There is still a place named papango in indonesia which is named after the soldiers from pampanga and named by the royal dutch army.. today there is only one evidence of that place which my fren flew there.. there is a chance that people from that area are descendants coming from pampanga which live there after they invade indonesia.

“The Battle of Yultong was just a holding action involving a Filipino expeditionary battalion of 1,000 men fighting an undersized Chinese division already severely reduced in numbers by UN air power along the way from the Sino-North Korean border to the front. It was still a great victory, but certainly not the greatest. There are still many such examples throughout the front during the war.” IN OTHER WORDS STOP ACTING LIKE YOUR FOLK ARE SAVIORS AND THAT WITHOUT YOUR HELP KOREA WOULD NOT EXIST BECAUSE THE TRUTH IS KOREA IS A SMALL DIVIDED COUNTRY THAT HAS BEEN FOUGHT OVER FOR MANY MANY YEARS IT HAS BEEN THROUGH A LOT OF DIFFICULT HISTORICAL MOMENTS AND WAR AND DESERVES INDEPENDENT PRAISE FOR STANDING STRONG AND BECOMING ONE OF THE MOST DEVELOPED NATIONS IN THE WORLD SHOUT-OUT KOREA GO KOREA! no disrespect just understanding and honesty.
