- General Sarath Fonseka Chief of Defense Staff addressing officers and men of the Sri Lanka Army at the 60th Army Anniversary Parade in Colombo said it was the last time he was making an address of that nature. He said he has finished his obligations dedicated to the Army.
Speaking at the ceremony Gen. Fonseka said, This may be the last occasion I make an address of this nature to officers and men of the Sri Lanka Army. Although I am still serving in the Army I have finished my obligations dedicated to the Army as I have reached different heights at this time. After serving for 40 years I have already done my share for the Army and I have done this in a historical manner as I gave the leadership for the Army to win the 30 year long war.
According to political analysts this indicates the dissatisfaction over the way Gen. Fonseka is being treated by the President and the government. The contradiction between President Mahinda Rajapaksha and Gen. Sarath Fonseka had come to the surface at the 60th anniversary celebrations of the Army held at BMICH recently. According to several reports that appeared in the media Gen. Fonseka was not happy regarding how he is being treated by the President and the government. There were rumors that he had been offered the post of Secretary to the Sports Ministry which Gen. Fonseka had rejected.

If anyone would say, it was Gotabaya and his talents were instrumental in defeating the LTTERs that way, that should be the biggest lie. Gotabaya had left the country for a safer heaven and had been away from the country for 15 good years. There, how could he or any one in that rank ever been able to know it better than the good commander who continued to give the lead to lanken forces. SF is not a traitor, he should be the real war hero for all of us.
THe manner he was treated by applying revengeful agenda should be condemened. They the Rajaakshe should be cold blooded criminals. They behaveed like Green monsters in the case of SF. Not even a man who just did high crimes could be treated well, but SF was treated with all higher punishments. That should come on back on Rajakashes in the days to come. I have no doubt, for all the high crimes commited by Rajappakshes, they will have to stay in JAILs inthe future.

Ayubowan ! This nation has a new breath of Freedom , since the civil conflict has come to an end. They say, hardships either makes you or brakes you. Sri Lanka got her freedom back in 1948. Her foreign rulers left "landmines" that went off as scheduled. With the end of the fighting (30 years) the Sri Lankan people can put their energies and God given talents into actions, that are building a united country. Where all Her people groups can dream and have a chance at having successes. Remember: E PLURIBUS UNUM ( OUT OF MANY, ONE) Go Sri Lanka , your destiny (for good) is awaiting. The nations founding Fathers will smile down on the Reborn nation (Ceylon/Sri Lanka) PEACE to all and God's speed Sweet Pearl of the Indian Ocean.
