- I joined watercolor painter Eugen Chisnicean while he was painting 'en plein air' at Brugge, Belgium. He was accompanied by Amid El Haddad, who painted the same scene next to him.
While Eugen was working on his painting we spoke about his palette, use of colors, composition, organizing space and planning a painting.

Painting what our eyes see and not what our brain knows about the subject. It's like two people reading the same book, each will have their own interpretation of the story. If we ask them to draw it, we will get two different illustrations. For me, witnessing the work of other artists (regardless of the Art discipline) is a very enriching and interesting way to travel.
Thank you for sharing this moment with the painter Eugen Chisnicean.
Very joyful video, it was so spontaneous, Eugen paints with high confidence. Thanks, Titus for sharing this beautiful opportunity.
A very good idea to meet another talented artist and exchange experiences in a beautiful place. Thank you for another interesting video of yours. Warm regards from Poland.
Thanks for this…fun to watch and hear you compare his style to yours!
Thank you so much Titus for your great contribution to the world of art and artists. Your videos are always fascinating to watch
My pleasure Amid! Next time a video with you again?
Titus, I love your joy is seeing another artist's work. Eugen has such an enjoyable style and technique, as do you. Thank you.
Vos échanges nous permettent de tirer profit de vos techniques réciproques, merci!
Thank you Titus, I learned so much from your ebullient and passionate discussion with Eugen...wonderful!
It would be interesting to see Amid's painting to see his interpretation.
Nice 🙂. I would have a hard time painting in such a busy spot.
Great conversation. Interesting to see how blobs of saturated color transform into a subject over time.
Lovely video. I likewise don’t have time to watch too many painters. Very refreshing indeed 😊
A very good painter Eugen Chisnichean!
Świetny filmik .Ja bym się nie odważył na malowanie w tak ruchliwym miejscu .Świetna praca.
Thanks for bringing us along! I love the finished piece, and also am impressed by those very saturated colors. I have a similar background in architecture as your guest artist so this is quite a nice lesson. I need to find him on social media and see more.
More videos like this... very nice...
Been following Eugen’s career since he first came on the social media scene. He’s the only water colorist I know of who can do more with one brushstroke than many others can do with a thousand.
Thank you Titus for this presentation of this artist painting on site. His dabbing style of painting is not unlike yours, I believe. With that said, I might add that I have Belgian blood in my past so I can relate to the subject matter.
Wizardry and magic....Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, this was very enjoyable to watch. Also, your questions and conversation were most enlightening.
Careful now... you might just make me keen to try watercolours ;-)
Great vid once again. Loved how you two were discussing the process and what makes the painting work. It must take a lot of brainpower to come up with a plan like that. I wonder how much is planned beforehand and how much then changes during the process.
It's crazy how many dials and buttons there are to making a painting: shapes, values and value shift, colour and colour temperature, flow lines/ how you eye moves through the painting, edges, composition, brush work, energy... and the list goes on. To distill art from all those ingredients... ooof. For now, I just paint and enjoy (and try to focus on one or two of these subjects).
Thank you Mike. Always love your comments.
It all becomes natural with practice, I would say. At least I can feel most of the components of a painting, so that it looks pleasingly. But it is fun to analyse it afterwards. As for planning, it depends on the subject. Some things I know how to approach from previous experience, but some I spend half an hour to think of a plan. But I am still learning.
Thank you!
That was fun!! Thank you!
Changing the composition to finish a melodic phrase...🤯 i have so much to learn
thank you. i love your channel

Does he use opaque colors.?Some of the greys seem opaque.
Why do we have to go on and on about a good
Painting yada yada
He seems to have a laissez faire approach. It is invigorating and spontaneous.
I wonder how he can paint fast outdoors without a dryer.
I always want my paint not to dry fast, especially outside :)
@@johnytwoThe reason why I was asking is because at the beginning of the video he says: "when you paint outside you must paint fast".
@@miguelsuarez8010 I thought you were saying „without a hairdryer“ :). Sure. The drying depends on temperature and wind. I wet my paper on the back side, so that it soaks up and stays damp a lot longer. Also, the more washes you apply, the wetter the paper becomes.
Mr. Eugen is a great artist ❤❤❤.
But while recording art videos, show mostly the art work. Dont show the artist face too much. And dont talk with him too much. Let him concentrate on his art work , and show his art work only.
It's a interview, not a tutorial..i like the way it's filmed..
