THE 1965 HITS ARCHIVE - here in one place, a good-quality library of original-release-version best-sellers and songs which made an impact that were either released or enjoyed a major chunk of their popularity within the calendar year 1965 (some were recorded in 1964). - Видеоклипы
60 years old, and still sounds cute and lively today. Marvin Hamlisch was a genius, even with pop novelties for a B-movie ("Ski Party") like this one.
1:37 was even short for a song back then.
Lesley finishes this serving of joy and delight faster than it takes Elton John to sing half a verse.
Lesley recorded Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows in 1963 for her second album, "Lesley Gore Sings of Mixed-Up Hearts". It was released as a single in 1965 and she lip-synced the song in the movie "Ski Party". Lesley recorded another version of this song in 1965. They were going for a more "live" sound to be used in Ski Party, however they went with the 1963 version. The B side of the singe was "You've Come Back" from her 1964 album, GIRL TALK.
I would like to hear this in the next Bioshock game.
60 years 1963
There is a little alluring piano riff through this high energy tip to nostalgia. The piano almost hides between Leslie's twinkling vocals, like water softly dripping in a cave. Man, I got a craving for an orange sherbet pushup and a strawberry Nehi everytime I hear this song. Straight up, no drugs.
Your comment just made my day Michael Franklin…I always wanted to learn how to play piano …the music of that genre reflected the times we were living in I guess even though I wasn’t born till a few years later…It’s funny how you just talked about the piano riff now I got to go back and listen again and again
One of the best/R.I.P Ms. Leslie.
This Song Went To Number 13 On The Billboard Hot-100 Chart In 1965.

Marvin Hamlisch's songwriting assignment, pre-"Sting".

what a time to be alive
Shortest song in history... I think maybe there could have had an instrumental part in the middle somewhere, then repeat the chorus one last time at least to make it an even 2 minutes!
Is Marvin on piano?
