Make it in Memphis: Freddie Mac Resources are Making Home Possible

Memphis homeowner Nicholas Whiteside explains that a lack of knowledge is one of the barriers to homeownership in his community. And Freddie Mac affordable lending manager Monda Webb knows how important it is for underserved communities understand the types of resources available to them, because it goes hand in hand with homeownership.
Through Freddie Mac's CreditSmart financial education program, Whiteside was able to get a down payment and closing cost certificate that, along with down payment assistance and support from housing counselors, helped him buy his home at age 22.
