Bought Pigments 3.5 last week as a Black Friday deal for 69 euro (as an existing customer), and the good news, this update is free of charge for existing Pigment users!! Just ran the Arturia Software Center and YES!! Will now buy the Wavelengths Bundle for 19.99. Merry Xmas
Certainly my favorite UI and workflow, but as far as versatility and depth, IMHO it's not really in the same league as VPS Avenger or MSoundFactory... I still think its the best, fastest and most fun choice for most people most of the time, and a good friend just bought it last week on my recommendation.
Haha demo limited to 20 minutes only. A no go! Arturia do not want to let you find out that plugin is not as good as some competitors or what's the reason for such a stupid limitation?
I have had this synth for 3 days and it's already by far my favorite soft synth I have ever used. User-friendly, clean GUI, smart preset library functions, soooo much tweakability, and it sounds SO good!
One of the best overview videos I’ve seen. A very thorough walk through with clear and concise examples accompanied by a compelling presenter who knows her stuff. Wonderful.
When Pigments was initially introduced, I bought one, because price offered for me was much cheaper than buying Serum. Many years later I am in love with this synth and its get better and better all the time. Thank you Arturia!
I just recently added Pigments to my (large) vst synth collection. I own 3 V collections now and I don't understand how I've been missing Pigments. The moment I got it I made a track with almost only factory presets. The sound is soooo great. Thank you guys!
Drag and drop modulation is a very welcome change. I kept trying to do this when I first started using Pigments since that modulation palette is right there. It just feels right.
Glad to see the work continue on this beast. Fantastic work and thanks for not charging for it. That is literally one of the "features" I point out to others about pigments. (Wish this respect for my investment carried over to my v-collection instruments). Really hope to see audio input in future versions. Such a useful feature I can only imagine it must be left out intentionally in order not to compete with your own products? Very unfortunate choice. If so I hope you'll at least release an FX only version (like the one that comes free with Serum)?.. 🤷🏽♂️
Must say this synth is really starting to mature beautifully. Love the bypass buttons and play view. All welcome improvements! Drag and drop is amazing, but at this point feels more like a bug fix than 'feature' lol. All the more reason to want AUDIO INPUT so we can use it as a channel strip with the existing presets/fx chains/midi mapping inside Pigments... Pure magic folks!
Yet again, another magnificent update from Arturia! The drag-and-drop and pop-ups on modulation... YES! Thank you for adding this, it's exactly what was needed to bring the software into line with competitors, and it's a very welcome enhancement. Also love the other little touches like the arrow-paging modules and the Play view. A lot of thought went into this.
Good introductory video, and the presenter comes across as genuinely excited - which is understandable, as I've been using Pigments since version 2, and the free upgrades have been amazing! Some great workflow (especially on/off toggles & DnD modulations) and creative updates here. As a software developer working on an application with complicated graphical front-end, I am always in high appreciation of the intuitive GUI and engine in Pigments. Well done Arturia!
So cool, thank-you Arturia. The only thing that confused me was looking for an upgrade price on the website... it took me a while to work out it was entirely free! Brilliant :o)
I love this synth - had it from day one! What a great company arturia is! I missed the V collection and FX upgrade offer but will jump at it when it comes round again (and I know it will!!). Next step some arturia hardware!
A couple of things one of which is an error in the video - when you open Pigments the default view is NOT 'Play' view but 'synth' view. Second is the good one - if you own previous versions of Pigments open ASC and check for updates. You'll be surprised to see that this new version is free. Thanks Arturia!
@@Razzileful Not seeing that here. Whether opening in standalone, as an insert in ProTools (AAX format) or as an insert in Digital Performer (au format) it always opens in synth view. I have to manually select play view each time. Now if you open an instance of Pigments and select play view the next time you open that instance it will be in play view. Each instance remembers what view you open it in.
Wished I had a screenshot of the older version so I could compare the 2. Now if you're specifically talking about the light/white view - I'm not a fan of that kind of gui no matter the plugin. Too bright a gui strains my eyes.
tried a previous version of pigments but couldn’t get into it because of the modulation. adding the drag/drop feature is a no brainer here, i’ll have to give it another try! (also, i appreciate the brighter skin option)
Nice presentation with many exciting new features. And the Presenter Yetundey is so agreable to listen to and her joy is a pleasure, perfect voice and pace ( i am french ). I am happy to have choosen Pigments a while ago and get these huge updates for free.
Hello Arturia. I come to leave an certain tips, there are many acclaimed Synths to be reacreated an reinvented. All Sond Engineers are expecting more as the current version 9 left someting to be desired. In the next version V Collection 10 please try even 2 new recread Synth. Maybe PPG Waves an Korg Trident, ROLAND D 50 and SYSTEM 8 exemple.
After multiple versions of Pigments, Cubase, and Mac upgrades, I still can't use it with skips, pops, and clicks (unusable). I really have wanted to do a lot with this vst. The latest updates have allowed me to play on the standalone version seemingly fine, but inside Cubase, no dice. 😩 Any help would be much appreciated 🙏
I can not get my minilab 3 to control any of the parameters in pigments 4. I select it in the midi drop down in the gears tab on the top right. But nothing. Thoughts.
I'm new to Pigments, loving the sounds and UI so far! But quick question, is there a way to manually enter number values? In most other synths it's a simple double-click, but I haven't been able to figure it out yet in Pigments. 🤷♂
Curious what the differences between this and Serum is. Anyone know? Do you use both independently? Or can this replace Serum? Still learning about DAW related things.
After updating I miss something. I think in version 3 there was the possibility to ramp the three random controllers (up/down)🫥. Thanks for the video!🙏🏽🧔🏼👍🏽
If press a hold button and play after that, it is possible to get a multiple sound (similar to layering). Is it possible to save this sound? If i choose an option "Save Preset As" Pigments just saves it as single originl sound (not the multiple one that i created)
trying to load my own samples into pigments and having trouble. when i go to import, the wavs i want to import are grayed out, even though pigments says it can use wavs in its sampler. any ideas on what's happening?
I applaud the guys at Arturia working on Pigments continuously working on it and bringing us updates for free. Well done guys!
yeah! like Native Instruments Absynth, Reaktor, Massive X, FM8...and so on..
I've always loved this Synth but the previous versions up to 3 were real CPU gluttons. Looks like Arturia have addressed that issue in V4. Kudos
just bought v3 a week ago and boom, there is v4. Great Arturia!
Bought Pigments 3.5 last week as a Black Friday deal for 69 euro (as an existing customer), and the good news, this update is free of charge for existing Pigment users!!

69? Feck!! I paid 99 but it’s still a win. Where can you buy the wavelengths bundle tho?
I am so thankful, I appreciate yer constant effort to make Pigments even better,
without charging us, other companies should learn from Arturia.
Drag and drop modulation is really an essential feature. It would be also really good to preview the modulation like in Vital!
I've been a Pigments user since the first edition and Arturia never disappoints. Maybe the best and most versatile synth out there! Keep it up!
Indeed, veeeeery versatile.

In my 42 years of existence this is by far the best VSTi plugin ever. Congrats to Arturia for making this possible ❤
AMAZING!!! You are on top of the game and you don't let down the Arturia Users, upgrading your software is the best, BIG THANK YOU ARTURIA
Exactly, one of the best companies when it comes to considering their existing users... I appreciate Arturia for this, it's rare these days.
@@Bati_ big facts
I've been a software developer for 30+ years. I'm deeply impressed with all aspects of this. The developers have done an amazing job.
Not far behind you. Yes, it's an impressive piece of software...especially for a VST!
Thank you Arturia for making this a free upgrade ❤
Yes. And I just bought Pigments for a bargain. 👍💪😎

talk about "saving the best till last"
Just when I was wondering what to do for the rest of the week, thanks Arturia.
i was searching my account to see what the upgrade pricing was - then realised it was a free upgrade, thanks Arturia!
Hands down, this is the best synth plug-in and value for your money!
Drag and drop modulation is a very welcome change. I kept trying to do this when I first started using Pigments since that modulation palette is right there. It just feels right.
One synth to rule them all… so excited for this.

I think my favorite addition is clicking switching between basic LFO shapes, very much needed
That being said, I thought the logic of switching beforehand was really beautiful, just kinda slow.

You pronounce everything with such clarity lol
But yes I'm glad to see my favorite product in this line getting an upgrade. Love the texture 💝
Thank You Yetundey and Arturia 😀can't wait to explore V4.
looking foward to this
At this point, I swear that Pigments 4 has just completely replaced about 10 of my other VSTi synths...wicked good stuff Arturia! 🤙
Great Update! -> Please implement the super unison in Minifreak, this would be very nice to get better stereo sounds out of Minifreak.
Been using it since 2.0. this is the first upgrade I'm excited for. Vital and padshop 2 are my primary sound design tools for it's ease
Thank you for the free update to existing owners of Pigments. :)
I love Pigments.. Definitely a go to when Im cooking.

Hey what happened to Slow Down Metallic or Mechanic Elephant presets that she demonstrates...not in my factory presets that I can find.
Good to see Vital's way of assigning modulation and amount.

PPG Waves
Korg Trident
Elka Synthex
Roland D 50.
