Nice work Ade, I love the speed you work at, carefully and very accurately. I usually convert measurements to inch values but I like how you seem to switch back and forth so effortlessly. Enjoyed, cheers!
Hi Are good to see you again, question quite a few months ago (about the time you got the mill) you had a small sieg lathe that you were going to convert ? Have I missed something or has this been shelved ?? Thank you .
It's a comparative indicator. Really can't use it for accurate measuring. As you said, length of the probe and angle used to pick up the diameter would affect the reading. He's using it correctly.
Nice looking end caps Ade. Interesting comparison of the wobble bar to the indicator. I never trust wobble bars on small bores like this, always opt for a dti. Cheers, Jon
Enjoyed this video. Thank you.
Great work as always Ade.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the video.
Thanks for sharing and I recomend that you don't drink the Tennessee Swill Water but get yourself some good Kentucky Bourbon.
Thanks for the detailed demonstration of wobble pin vs coaxial indicator, very useful. Cheers.
Hello Ade,
Good work as always, an enjoyable video...
Take care.
Paul,,

Great as always!
Nice work, as per usual!
Ade just check your footage. It looked like the centre finder body was slightly moving side to side in the chuck. Great video as usual.
I noticed that too, and confirmed that it's wobbling on its own.
Since I have a 5/8 collect could I just use a pin or reamer to align the cylinder? Trying to think ahead on what I can do by watching you.

It is a project very low on the list at the moment but I still have it hiding on the corner of the bench . Cheers Ade.
Hi Ade, it seemed the coaxial is moving as though the spindle is not locked or collet not tight.
Thanks Ade
Hi Ade, just subbed to your channel, was wondering what centre drill holders you’re using?
Hi , Kevin . They are ones I made up using some MT3 soft arbours . Cheers Ade.
Hi Ade, good demo of the two centering tools. The coaxial indicator seemed a little bit "fussy", or is that just a feel thing?
It is really simple to centre . I was just me being a D**k . Cheers Ade.
I used co-axial for center checks on cnc spindle to program location. Last word for spindle to fixture or part. Just always did it that way. ???
Hi Ade
Good video, can you use the divisions on dial for measuring, or will the length of the probe will effect the amount of movement on the dial?
It's a comparative indicator. Really can't use it for accurate measuring. As you said, length of the probe and angle used to pick up the diameter would affect the reading. He's using it correctly.
Would this be a good kit for a first steam engine kit?
Hi Jake . It is my first kit and so far, so good. It does make improvisation skills needed on some parts . Cheers Ade.
Hi Ade, can you tell me where you got your toolmakers vice from please
It was from Buy Brand Tools online . Cheers Ade.
@@ade63dug many thanks :)
@@stevelawes8833 also try ARC -
@@gb_engineer Ha, yes just ordered one from Arc yesterday! 90mm Thanks
