This fragrance is a masterpiece, and i will explain why. As a truck driver across the whole country, i have been to all over in every single state. This fragrance is literally in the air in a particular place in all of usa. during the crisp cool spring day and night between the months of April and May, this fragrance is in the air between the border of Texas and Oklahoma. When farmers start harvesting or plating after rainy and snow season between those two states. I have never smelled figment man in anywhere else. This fragrance brings memories of me driving through the border of those to states. When i tested this fragrance for the first time, I was reminded of that instantly. This fragrance is perfect to wear for me during the crisp, cool, and overcast weather in spring and autumn. The fragrance has damp soil feel in contrast to crisp, cool, rainy overcast day it is an amazing experience for me. When a fragrance has the capability to remind the wearer life experiences and the perfumer who crated the fragrance in my eyes is a master parfumer. I think Annick Menardo will be HOF perfumer when she retires. As always, it was an awesome review! Thank you, Ramsey.
Ahhh man, what great timing…as I’ve been really lit up by animalics lately. Not sure if you’ve smelled any Arquiste fragrances, but I’d love to hear what you think of El. It gets compared to Kouros, but there are SO FEW reviews here. I think it’s fantastic.
I love this one. Beautiful box and bottle as well. I grew up around gardens and nurseries, some that even had animals, compost, greenhouses with all sorts of interesting rocks and relics and stuff I used to explore as a kid. This fragrance brings me back there like none other. After the initial soily blast, it's also not really that "challenging" IMO.
Finallyyyyyy! Thanks for shining some light on this beauty. I love figment, the opening it's very in your face civet exactly like in Kouros, but in the drydown becomes sooooo woody, creamy and earthy. 10/10 masterpiece
The contrast is brilliant with Figment man. An ancient, dark, closed in place that has been cracked open to let in blinding light. Dracula straight out of his dirt tomb freshened up with some Chanel PM or Dior Eau Sauvage.
Cheers mate, this is a special one as it will not go down well with the usual niche types. It will probably upset most people but not us hell no lol. That said it did shock my nose at first sniff , but brain said “Let’s do this “ hahaha. Nicely done ✅ man 💪🤛👍👊
This is so true about how your taste changes. I look back at some of the stuff I used to like that I really can’t stand now 😂😂 thanks Ram great review as always 🙏🐏❤️
Great review! I’m glad I discovered your channel. Could you please review a house called Ys-Uzac? They have some really interesting and unique fragrances.
My #1 fragrance ever. Mostly enjoyed when I am by myself but it is super artistic. Beautiful presentation as well. Now is the best time to enjoy it although it works year around (now being fall). Thanks Ramsey!
☆Have this one as a sample. Got it early in my frag journey. I sprayed it and it took me to child-playtime. All the wet, musty, mildewy rotting leaf, wood shingles, and cat pissy stained cardboard detris, behind the storage shed in the backyard. Its bewildering that the gerainiums flanking the path infiltrating the rusty chain link fence, the scent of dry, astringent leaves amongst the vermillion red citrine odored-petals all present too! There was also a stone paver i would pull up and see shimmering slug trails, weird broken insect egg casings, and earwigs scurrying about. Thats the feeling it gives me. Very immersive and terrifyingly pleasing, in a compulsatory/nostagic way. Awesome creation, and a great breakdown by the Ram!!! Much luv an respects to you and the whole-of the Ram Frag Fam too♡♡♡ Hope your doin well my friend(s)☆
Been waiting for this one😎 great review as always 🐏 This one is strangely growing on me despite it reminding me of going camping and having to go to the toilet in the early hours of the morning😂
Hey Ramsey. Figment man, Gold man and opus x, are my all time favourites. I wear it proudly also in summer... when my girlfriend is not staying with me. She hates it😢
Hahaha ... ah... the love or hate perfume that is Figment Man. It smells fantastically like wet earth. I like to layer this with attars. As someone who grew up in the hills near Kanchenjunga, the inspiration is accurate.
@@RamseytheRam I loved it straight up lol but I was prepared. I think so far the one iv struggled with the most is portrayal man ill come back to that one FMD WTF is that stuff
You are great Rams, thx so for all your hard work. For me, you are at your best when you do the Amouages! For me Figment always conjjoured up images of Dracula..that soil note is stunning! Hope one day you will talk about Chris's Britolognes, very different from his previous works, but also very interesting (conceptually at least)! Cheers
@@RamseytheRam Gald you also mention from time to time Kafka; the community misses her so much. It seems the lonely Star can produced and still produces very competent reviewers.
I had a similar journey with this, sampled and forget about it then picked it up cheap as this isn't a popular one. Now I happily wear it. Btw the new Zoologist King Cobra has a few things in common with this one minus the civet accord and instead heavy incense. You'll probably like it.
I used the last 4 sprays i had left of figment to watch along with this video....i couldnt think of a better sendoff! Unfortunately i didnt pull the trigger on a full bottle when it was at its cheapest, but alas. P.s. theres something in this, maybe the woods that is actually reminding me of salvador dali pour homme...not overall similar but one thing is the same with both. Interesting, i havent sprayed this in a long time before today
Yes! It's that fougere style! Salvador Dali Pour homme is a great example of an 1980s style masculine fougere and it has a similar civet note as Kouros...great shout 🗣
I am amouage fan boy......I have tried almost all of there's fragrances and most of I love. However I hate Figment man. This is one of the most discussing fragrance I have ever tryed. Respect to those who love it....
Olympic orchids has that same wet soil smell in night flyer. Just doesn’t have that citrus lemon note i pickup in figment. Glad I got a full bottle of Myths before it was discontinued. Should’ve picked up 50ml of this. I’d never get through 100 ml’s.
Night flyer is the original Zoologist bat! When they tried to change the formula she took the original one and released it in the original form under Bat 🦇
I get a dandelion honey smell. The florals smell so much like dandelion, with that sweet lemon floral and tart bitter green. Now the sandalwood smells like the high end Australian stuff that is about all you can get anymore. It's earthy and rindy. Like an earthy zest similar to some cedar The animal accord I get is beaver (castoreum). I grew up around lots of beavers. They smell prissy, crappy, leathery, musky, even got some ferret smell going on. We put one in the trunk to take to the tanner. He would buy the carcass. It smelled forever. Got better and better. It's been awhile since I've been back to the creek and lakes back home. This smells like home to me
@RamseytheRam I'm not near as familiar with animalistic perfume as you. I grew up in a country farm town. A couple times we ran across a beaver crushed by a tree. I can smell an alfalfa smell I think coming from the vetiver in this. It's amazing. I could go on and on. Thanks
@@RamseytheRam I forgot to get the film reference in but this scent reminds me of "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" shrunken kids out in the lawn riding the ant.
@RamseytheRam She's a young lady who was getting well known in fragcom and recently put out her own line of fragrances. I haven't smelled any but I've heard they were interesting. Some people upset about the election results decided to "cancel" her and got Luckyscent and some other niche retailers to drop her fragrances over some nonsense. I don't really do politics but it's nuts how someone's work can just be erased like that. Crazy times we're in.
@@RamseytheRamMake that 100% yes. 😅 In my view it is an admirable failure. I deeply admire Annick M for her incredible body of work, but Figment is unnecessarily obtuse-it’s begging to be dialed back a notch in order to more properly ride the line between danger and, shall we say, ecstasy. (And I am not afraid of being challenged.) Myths remains, for me, the best Chong era ‘man’ Amouage. Memoir is second.
Luminous Sandalwood? Haha, you made me laught very hard! This is indeed one of the boldest creation i was ever had experience with. But for me was a big NO. The funereal look of a freshly dug grave pit and the smell of cadaverous mold stopped me from wearing it. I do, however, appreciate the creativity and brilliant nose of Anick Menardo, who proves that she is an extremely talented perfumer!
