So the WoL is the one to give Hydaelyn hope ever since the beginning before she became a primal. It's a complete mind f. WoL was there since the beginning.
Someone mentioned it was like the chicken and the egg. All of this thing would never happened apparently if the Wol never went back in time and the world would have been gone. It’s kinda like hydaelyn already knew what ur gonna do before you even knew you are the warrior of light so everything she did was to make sure you follow the path that would lead you to the past.
@@Exteliongamer also Venat, after stepping down as Azem, chose not to "return" and instead stayed in Elpis because "she felt she had more to do", that was before she met your character. So even something inside her told her she had to stay in order take part in a grander plan. She was waiting for something when your character arrives.
I wonder how many people picked "Thank you, Hydaelyn" over "We will find our way, Venat"...because I also picked the latter. It felt more reassuring that we will be fine even when she's gone and calling her by her true name means more to her.
Fun fact: in the trial Y'shtola is the one who does the mechanics best since she sees the aether's flow and thus can predict better where it's gonna hit, she even says and does as much at 2:20
“Or fly my children, and never look back” I fucking loved that line. This fight specifically I did as a trust because I wanted to see the Scions dialogue and it was one of the best boss fights ever for me for it.
I know people have their issues with Trusts, but this fight right here just feels way more impactful when done as a trust. When I first came to this trial, I saw there was an option for running it as a Trust. I figured there was a damn good reason they'd make it like that so I did it that way. So glad I did. It just meshed so much better with the story.
Not really an issue just seems that the scions never had the power we had so thinking about them joining in and fighting the primal of all primals just doesn't feel like she is truly testing us. If this was a true test without her holding back some of those scions should be dead.
@@Villiscaband1 The scions don't have the echo, but Hydaelyn isn't trying to temper them - why would she? They've always been capable fighters, and then they spent years honing their skills against sin eaters on the First. It is the echo that has meant they have never fought primals before, and the blessing of light which made them wait for you to fight lightwardens. Are they as strong as the warrior of light canonically? No, but then, no one is - probably including whichever random adventurers you summon to you for other trials.
@@Villiscaband1 problem with that interpretation is there aren't 7 other shards of the WoL left. There were only 13 to start with, and there have been 7 rejoinings with the source. Plus the 13th that fell to the void. so there are only 5 shards left, plus the original. 6 total. We're just summoning allies, not necessarily other versions of ourselves.
@@Villiscaband1 the scions have alwasys been more than capable of fighting and contending with Primals on a power comparison the only thing that stopped them was the tempering effect the primals had. if that wasn't an issue they would have been fighting with us no problem.

By the Twelve!. Oh man the tears started flowing. Made more apparent by saying "We will find our way, Venat". Dude Flow is a beautiful song, at the part: "By Storm's wake" I feel the heavy emotion during that verse. It's also my favourite part of the song
I thought I could watch this again without getting emotional, but just as you said "we will find our own way, Venat." and she tears up I just lose it exactly like I did when I played through it. This game is so powerful and good at pulling out your emotions.
Such a beautiful cutscene, the thing that always gets me from speaking to Venat / Hydaelyn she waited thousand of years, thousands....for her one true warrior of light, reaching out to so many failed ones along the way to finally find us. We only found that out in Endwalker but Venat / Hydaelyn must of known from the moment we first heard....Feel, Hear, Think....which makes the last 10 years of cutscenes hit so much harder

Why did I see a comment about the Scions being a poor choice of allies simply because they didn't have a good power comparison against primals? Hydaelyn gave that protection to the WoL in the first place which allowed the WoL to fight the primals to begin with. Remove that, and you just have one incredibly strong warrior who can suffer from the same problems as the Scions. At that point, why would the Scions not help the ally they have shared so many journeys with, and who could possibly be a better ally then the people the WoL had shared journeys with time and time again in a fight meant to test mankind against despair and hopelessness?
Oh no it’s just a coincidence as I always use Paladin to go through the story since Arr and switch out to Red mage, dragoon or something else when doing raids and grinding.

by principle I stopped using "Hydaelyn" after the events in Elpis
It felt the same way as when i called G'raha by his true name after he was without a doubt unmasked as the crystal exarch. Just felt more powerful...
Hydaelyn feels more like her title. Calling her Venat shows that we still see the humanity inside her.
