"Who's hiding?"
The wizard shrouded in black chuckled. "I am not the one peeking, am I?" He sounded like he said it with a hearty grin. "I will tell you a secret: You are me. I am you. The universe is but a theatre, and I am honoured to have met you in this place, in this time." The wizard drew closer, seemingly moving the fog adeptly around the bottom of his robes. He stopped at the land's edge. "Would you like to know another, young squire? Never look back. Always strive forwards. For if you ever check whats behind you, you may miss what is in front. Goodbye now." He finished as the fog wrapped around his body. He dispersed into thin air, leaving the young squire confused, but curious.

Something anent this art piece gives the feeling of an epiphany that is within the reach, yet so far away. Death staring right at the stranger; No haste, knowing he can't get anywhere where he can't snatch him. All while the stranger is apprehensively staring back, not bothering to hide knowing it's pointless; Not reaching for the sheathed dagger certain that fighting is futile. The music accompanying the art piece, on the other hand, bestows on it a rather cathartic coat. An image of inevitable decay gilded with an elysian tune, calling on a never felt before emotion; A kind of emotion that's only experienced at the journey's end.

Running home to the merchant he served, he begged from him a horse so that he could ride far away to Samarra, and escape his end.
The merchant, after lending his servant a horse, went down to the marketplace and met Death himself.
"Why did you threaten my servant?" he asked.
"I did not, it was a start of surprise. I was astonished to see him in Baghdad, for I have an appointment with him tonight in Samarra."
This beautiful theme inspired my creativity, listened for hours while writing down my new dark fantasy world.

Desde antes de que él naciera, el Dios que todo lo ve ya le había predestinado este fin al héroe. No tuvo miedo, no intentó huir, ni luchar, pues sabía que quien yacía en frente de él no era uno de los tantos orcos, ogros, gigantes y humanos que había derrotado antaño; quien yacía inerte frente del héroe era nada menos que el destino, el tiempo, la muerte, EL FIN. Con nada más que profunda melancolía, un sentimiento de vacío en el pecho y tristeza, el héroe se tomó su tiempo para recordar cada instante de su vida, desde aquellos lejanos tiempos en los que era un travieso niño sediento de aventuras, pasando por su comienzo en esta larga odisea, continuando por aquellos dilemas y mortificaciones que tuvo que atravesar, hasta concluir aquí, donde se encontraba ahora. Ah, the ominous Fog Wizard. The Mud Wizard's less frivolous cousin.
The forest lay shrouded in twilight, the trees casting shadows across the narrow path. Every step was heavy, the weight of a life lived pressing down on weary limbs. The adventurer, once strong and full of purpose, now moved with the slow deliberation of one who knows the end is near. The sword that had once gleamed bright in countless battles hung dull at his side, its edge worn and chipped.
Ahead, where the path narrowed to a thin line between the ancient oaks, a figure waited. Cloaked in black, its presence was a whisper in the wind, a ripple in the air. The adventurer knew who it was before he saw the skeletal hands, the hooded face, the eyes that held the depths of eternity.
Death, the Reaper of Souls.
He paused, feeling the finality of this moment. For years, he had traveled far and wide, seeking glory, justice, and sometimes, simply the thrill of the unknown. He had faced dragons, scaled mountains, walked through realms where no mortal had tread. But now, in this quiet corner of the world, he faced the one foe no sword could vanquish.
"Is this it, then?" the adventurer asked, his voice carrying no fear, only a deep, abiding sadness.
The Reaper nodded, a slow and deliberate movement. There was no malice in those empty eyes, only a deep understanding, a reflection of all the lives the Reaper had taken before.
The adventurer looked around, taking in the familiar woods, the trees that had stood witness to his countless journeys. "I've seen so much, done so much," he murmured, almost to himself. "But there's so much I’ll never see, so much left undone."
The Reaper remained silent, giving him the space to speak his thoughts, to unburden himself before the final step.
"But… there’s hope in that, too," the adventurer continued, a faint light kindling in his eyes. "The world will go on. New adventurers will rise, new stories will be told. And maybe… maybe I’ll be remembered, not for what I accomplished, but for the dreams I passed on, the courage I inspired in those who will follow."
The Reaper extended a hand, a gesture of invitation, not demand. The adventurer looked at it, then back at the forest, at the fading light of day. There was peace here, in this moment. The sadness was real, the sense of loss sharp, but it was not the end of everything-only the end of his journey.
With a deep breath, he reached out and took the Reaper’s hand, feeling the cold grip of death close around his own. Together, they stepped forward, into the darkness that was not an end, but a passage to something unknown.
As they walked, the light of the forest faded behind them, but in the adventurer’s heart, a spark remained, a hope that the story was not truly over, only paused, waiting for the next chapter to begin.
And in that hope, he found peace.
