Is this like its own category of music? How do I learn how to do this lol. I feel like the couple times I've tried learning string instruments in the past it ends up being backing notes that hardly resemble the song they're meant to be when played on their own. The combination of melody and rhythm and everything else on display here is simply incredible and I'd love to find more like it.
Beautiful, really beautiful. I just got this same exact guitalele, but I find it very hard to find a good source to learn songs and good basics. I would love to have this song as my target. Would you consider making an instructional video for this? Cheers!
It's still the strings it came with from factory. I think these are normal strings for classical guitar. Next I'll try Aquila Strings, they have special ones for guitalele.
Hi, awesome playing. I am thinking about buying this guitalele, I just want a small music instrument to have some fun. But I am a very inexperienced guitar player, is this a good choice for me, I should I look for something else?
Thank you! Hard to say - perhaps it may be a bit tricky to play because of the narrow string spacing. You could also consider a real Ukulele with 4 strings or a small travel guitar
On the contrary, I think it's even easier! I have this same Yamaha guitalele, the strings and positioning are very gentle on the fingers. I'm a pianist and terrible at guitar but I love my guitalele!!
He shows you how to play it. Watch the video, slowed down using the video speed settings in RUclips. But first, you'll need to learn the "pluck and chuck" technique and practice on some simpler songs to learn to play melody and bass at the same time.
Awesome playing! I have a question though, did you have to make any modifications to it, say the bridge or the neck to make it sound better? Or was it fine as it came?
Would you be able to show how to tune to A-D-G-C-E-A please? My son is starting to learn on a 1/4 size Startone with nylon strings and I'd like to be able to tune it for him.
The the most simple way is to use a chromatic guitar tuner. This can also tune to the guitalele tuning. Or you tune the A-Strings using a pitch fork and compare: A to D on the 5th fret of the A String, D to G on the 5th fret of the D String, G to C on the 5th fret of the G String and C to E on the 4th fret of the C string ....
I'm not sure when I changed them. But I think would be hard to hear the difference. The good thing is they last very long and are slightly better in intonation
Jack Isidore oh well. I've been watching it back and have picked up a few things already. It really is a great version and sounds so so good on the GL1. Subbed 👍🏽
Sorry, I have no tutorials by myself. But you should know, that the guitalele plays exactly like a guitar with the difference that it's tuned five semitones higher. That says, like a normal guitar with a capo on the 5th fret. So for the beginning, you could start with every standard guitar chord, just have in mind that it sounds higher - so eg the normal guitar e-minor chord shape played on the guitalele sounds like an a-minor played on the guitar - if you know what I mean ....
Hey, I'm planning to buy the yamaha GL1 and I saw somewhere else that it can be tuned like a normal guitar too. I need one to practice on the go. I'm still an intermediate and I like fingerstyle. Can i change the strings with some high tension ones so that it's not sloppy and lose while playing? I got this suggestion from someone. I need help.
Hi, I can't imagine that this would work. The scale is really too short to do that. But I didn't try. But for practicing, why don't you use the standard tuning of the guitalele? I'ts tuned like a guitar, only five Semitones higher (like you were playing with a capo on the fifth fret)
i know this is kinda old but man you earned a new sub :) it would be nice if there were tabs/you made a lesson for this! also im looking to buy a guitalele, would you recommend the Yamaha? i think it sounds pretty good cheers
Thank you :-) Tabs or lessons would be difficult for me. But I can absolutely recommend the Yamaha Guitalele! I love the sound still very much, and it is a great instrument, especially for its price!
Jack Isidore thanks for the reply. I see we can play it like a normal guitar but i heard that its like a guitar with capo on the 5th fret? Whats the effect of it ? 😅
The effect is, that every tone you play, sounds 5 semitones higher than on a "normal" guitar. That means, if you play a note on the guitalele that would be an "e" on the guitar, you really would hear an "a" :-)
The guitalele is very much smaller than a guitar - about 1/4 the size - just like an ukulele. It has six strings just like the guitar, but they are tuned five semitones higher than the standard guitar tuning ....
one of the greatest guitar vids that I've seen on youtube over the past decade. perfectly displays how to combine rhythm harmony and melody.
Wow, thank you very much!!
Beautiful! I just got my guitalele today and yours is the first song I'm tackling. Sound incredibly good with the Zoom. Thanks for the inspiration!
You're very welcome! Thanks for your comment!
i love this so much i wish someone would make the tab of it . Beautiful !!
Outstanding.
I just ordered one, arriving Tuesday, and would love to learn this song.
Schönes Arrangement, toll gespielt. Hätte nicht gedacht, dass man solch einen Ton aus einer Guitalele holen kann. Klasse!
+A.G. Ober Vielen Dank, Andreas!

Cool! Thanks for your comment! 😊
Wow! You are amazing! This is a wonderful arrangement as well.
Thank you very much!
Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed
Nothin' seems to fit
Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'
So I just did me some talkin' to the sun
And I said I didn't like the way he got things done
Sleepin' on the job
Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'
But there's one thing I know
The blues they send to meet me won't defeat me
It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me
Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red
Cryin's not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothin's worryin' me
[trumpet]
It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me
Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red
Cryin's not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothin's worryin' me
Absolutely beautiful ❤
Thank you very much!
I learned this arrangement and did a mini cover, I love it so much ♥👍
Thank you 😊
Lovely! Excellent work mate. Have to use this as a reference for learning this song! Lovely guitalele I have the black one xD
Thanks!
You make it sound incredible
Thank you!
I loved your version!!
I wouldn’t mind paying for you tab.
Thanks
Thank you very much! I'm very sorry, but I have not the skills and not the time to write tabs - sorry
That’s awesome . You made that guitar sound so good. Wish I could play the same, maybe not yet but getting in there.
Thanks!
Wonderful music! I like the feeling of this.
Thank you!
super nice display of talent here. great coordination!

Beautiful. Thankyou

Beautiful
Thank you!!
Just amazing...
Thanks!
great stuff. as a lefty I never minded missing out on an abundance of ukes but I am really envious about the guitalele :(
+play your part - Thank you! Yeah, it's a pity they don't build a lefty version
I'm also lefty and got given a guitalele. I restrung it lefty and it sounds great! Even the intonation is pretty much spot on.
I almost forgot that i come here for the guitar. I enjoyed it:)
+Rizky Akbar Thank you! :-)
Great play
Thanks!
Well done, Jack !!!
+Jörg Kipar Thank you!
Excellent! so nice that I played it twice. :)

Hi, this is beautifully played and one of my favorite songs. Can you provide the chord chart/arrangement for this or how to get it? Thanks!
Thank you very much! I'm sorry I don't have tabs or know how to get them, I play this by ear ...
assalamualaikum i am from indonesia , nice suiiit play
Thank you very much, Ketan! Greetings from Germany!

Thank you very much, but I'm so sorry - I'm really not good in making tutorials ...
@@JackIsidore That's ok, just make these videos then so I have something to look up to ;)
How do you play the melody and the rythm at the same time?!?!? Thats crazy im a beginner with 1 year playing and that is amazing dude
Thank you :-) just keep on playing - it took me some years to get to this point ;-)
I don't understand why 7 people would thumbs down? I mean why?
Well done. Nice.
FLEKS! I've also 1year of experience and this is not hard to play
I’ve got a different version of this, not as good but pretty decent enough to appreciate and listen. Keep strumming...
Edouard R then post a video of you playing it

Wooow! Só great song!
+Müller Ângelo muito obrigado, Ângelo!
Hi jack.. so the chord we are using on guitalele its a guitar chord or ukulele chord?
Btw nice cover sounds lovely
Thank you! We play guitar chords on the guitalele. But they sound five semitones higher (like a guitar with a capo on the 5th fret).
Do you use normal nylon strings? Like the ones for classical guitar
It's still the strings it came with from factory. I think these are normal strings for classical guitar. Next I'll try Aquila Strings, they have special ones for guitalele.

So nice ,,does this have special strings for it or standard classical strings ?
Thanks! These are the factory strings. Later I bought special strings by Aquila. I'm not sure, if standard guitar strings would work ...
@@JackIsidore THanks for that.
Very nice! :)
+Templar Druzh Thanks!
Awesome playing!
I have a question though, did you have to make any modifications to it, say the bridge or the neck to make it sound better? Or was it fine as it came?
That's just as I bought it. Even with the factory strings :-)
Great stuff. What kind of strings are on there please! Thank you.
Thanks! These were the Yamaha factory strings.

Incredible tone! Which strings do
you use? Aquilla red series?
In this video, I used the original Yamaha factory strings. Now I have Aquila red, which are even better.
@@JackIsidore thanks for opinion, do you have a video on which you play using aquilla red strings?
I'm not sure when I changed them. But I think would be hard to hear the difference. The good thing is they last very long and are slightly better in intonation
It is a "requinto" .. it is not a "Yamaha invention" .... in Argentina it is manufactured and sold as a Gracia M5 guitar or "children's guitar" ..
Great performance! Please post the tabs for the benefit of humankind!
Amazing!! May I ask if you tuned your guitalele to its standard ukulele tuning or to the guitar tuning?
Thank you! This guitalele is in standard tuning which means it is tuned like a guitar but five semitones higher.
Thanks! :)
Hello It sounds so beautiful! Can i ask which string did u use? Can i know the product name?
Hi, thank you! This were the factory strings from Yamaha
@@JackIsidore thank you so much!
Can you tune it like regular guitar? Amazing performance btw :D
Thanks! It's tuned like a guitar but five semitones higher
@@JackIsidore I know this. What I wanna know if you cane tune it like gyitar on first thread. EADGBE.
No, I think it's too small for that. But I haven't tried ...
This is fantastic! I'm learning this but the guitar tab isn't great. Have you tabbed this? I love it!
Thank you! I'm sorry - but I'm not good in writing tabs ;-)
perhaps you can learn it from the video ...
Jack Isidore oh well. I've been watching it back and have picked up a few things already. It really is a great version and sounds so so good on the GL1. Subbed 👍🏽
go to settings bottom left of screen, your right. See the gear? That is settings, change the speed to slow him down and it will help you learn it. ;)
John Fair fantastic, thanks!!
Well done, great sound out of that little guilele or I must say is the player? Thanks for sharing
Thank you! :-)

Jack Isidore yes, i understood. That is what I am doing practicing the chords of Guitalele , thanks though.
That mean I do not have to change all the fingerings or any notes on guitalele? All musical notes transposed to higher tones too?
Yes - exactly! If you can play guitar, just play the Guitalele the same way - it will just sound higher
I'm thinking about getting one but the fretboard looks so tiny. Is it comfortable to play chords?
It is really tiny! It's good to have small hands. Some chords are difficult to play
On a scale of 1-10 how much do you like your guitarlele?
10 😊
