I really like this set! Personally I think the lack of a track for the tram is not really a downside. It would have increased the price. For kids it's not that big of a deal and I think most adults probably have some form of rail layout already😇
I like that this set doesn't have those mini builds of presents, toys, etc. They are hard to display and get lost. Motorizing the trolley is a nice option.
The one thing I love about it is it’s so much easier to display in separate pieces rather than one big house. It doesn’t look as impressive but it’s more versatile and practical. I just finished building the trolley and it looks amazing
I am getting the Christmas vibes and I love the Tiago easter eggs with the gingerbread house and even with the Titanic. Lego will always remember you. and may God be with you I will pray to him for you to get 500k subs by the end of the year :D
Gingerbread house was the best set of recent years; I find the ground floor interiors especially gorgeous 😌 Though, in terms of interactivity, it's hard to beat the Elf Club House with its waffle machine built into the chimney
I agree the Gingerbread house is definitely the best out of all the Christmas village sets. I think this tram set will go nicely with the gingerbread house.
Again, an excellent review. So I’m always disappointed your reviews come out before the release of the product. Sometimes weeks. In doing so I forget to come back and order from your page to give you the well deserved credit. This time at least I ordered the extra elements (train tracks lights etc), from here. I am going to pick up a couple of these sets on Oct 3rd, when they will be released early for VIP’s, I promise I’ll be back to order from your page giving you the credit. I have been collecting legos now for 22 years. I watch a ton of Lego themed reviews insights and opinionated videos. Your vids are truly my absolute favorite. So well done with an honest review, sometimes a touch of humor and visually excellence. Looking forward to your next video. Happy holidays to you and yours…😉
I'll definitely get this set! I'll trust your review since you're a former LEGO designer and designed the Gingerbread House set, which is one of my favorite LEGO sets.
I jumped on this set immediately because my family has been collecting the theme for the last four years (yes we have the GB House :-P). I love the build and its actually exactly what I think the theme needed (less the train). HOWEVER...no light brick? That's a party foul on LEGO no? I have been progressively getting less and less impressed with LEGO this year. Usually by this point I have about 10 sets laying around my house unbuilt because I've been dropping so much cash with no thought, but this year, I've honestly just been underwhelmed by the recent sets and overwhelmed by the recent price hikes. Not sure what Jan. 1 will hold for me, but I feel fairly confident that I'm done buying new stuff (from this year) for the year....I do however, really want that Home Alone House! Thanks for always crushing these reviews T! Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas!
Is the tram driver's torso a Polar Express reference? The conductor in the Polar Express wears a navy blue suit and has a gold watch as well. He even has the same hat and a mustache.
I somewhat like the set. I really like the trolley, however the power up process removes sooo much space inside and can't be "hidden" like you can in a train. The buildings do feel a bit too thin. While I prefer prints for bigger sets, at least we can put the gingerbread house sticker on a box for our city LEGO store.
I wish the colours would have been more brighter or I would totally get this set. Thanks for your video and insight. Congrats on getting a sticker reference to a set you designed! How cool!
I think the best solution for those wanting to motorize the tram who don't have the parts already is to get the Express Passenger Train 60337 as it has all of the required Powered Up pieces and some track (currently the only set with all parts looking at BrickLink), bonus is that once you cannibalise the parts back from the tram you have a train for the rest of the year. Finally it is also on special regularly at secondary Lego shops in Australia so no doubt other countries will have it on special too at times.
I love this set and definitely going to get it. I have the spare elements needed to motorise it and will have to fumble my way through on how to use a colour and distance sensor so I can just use a straight limited track.
Great review!!! I became an afol about the time of the Elf Club House but managed to get the Fire Station too. It's a shame I missed out on the Gingerbread House it looks so fun! I cant wait each year for the reveal and reviews of Winter Village 😁
Hi Tiago, thanks for all the work, much appreciated also from Italy! A word of advice: which colour would you have done the second building in? The texture is fine in my opinion, the colour I agree that it dulls it a bit. What colour would you match with the toy shop? Thank you very much.
Hey i’ve been working for the past day or two on a Lego twin towers memorial and it has a feature where you can put on the one world trade center right next to it and I was gonna send it to to Lego to see if I can get a made into Lego set
I like motorizing the tram, but it takes away all available room inside. Surely it must be possible to have a smaller motor/batterycompartment than there currently is. I would prefer a small steam loc to pull the train
I’m late collecting these winter sets. Picked this up instead of Santa’s Visit or Alpine Lodge. Also got the Lego Store so I can display it with the other stores.
Important! - Some places that are selling this are recommending that Track set 60205 be bought with this. Beware - 60205 does not make a complete loop. It's just an add on of tracks to go with existing track sets. James 😁
This is my first time really looking at Christmas themed sets. I usually stick with Halloween. I might get Santa's Visit this year. Already bought Santa's Sleigh when it came back in stock. 👀 Also happy they kept the $100 price tag for this set but I'm not sold on it yet.
--I like the tram, being as someone from San Francisco I recognize a cable car when I see one. --> I like that the tram can be motorized (without major rework), and I'm happy they motorization isn't included as that would require it was much more expensive or you get much less -->I'm not a fan of the overall "Lego economy" that exists, Lego should sell the pieces to make this happen and not have to rely on 3rd party sellers who bought when they existed to sell, "trains" exist, this is proof they're still making them, why not have some avenue. Plus it would be nice if I could realistically get older Winter Village sets without having to pay an arm and a leg, since I largely started from when my kid was born 6+ years ago. :) -- I like the front of the buildings but... I hate the fact we only get building facades with 4 stud depth inside of them. They really make the buildings feel a bit half-assed. --> I would think a better design is to get rid of the tram (yes, I already said I liked it) and put those pieces into the buildings, either two more fleshed out buildings, or perhaps a cluster of connected buildings that make up the town square. -- I feel like the high piece count is artificial due to a lack of building size where as with those you might have a number of 4+ stud pieces and large flats making up the roof, with the smaller buildings I can see a lot more smaller pieces to make up the detail.
Thanks! Great review!!! I'm thinking of adding the tram as a wagen on my Disney train as the winter village train but not sure or I can connect it seeing it more up close in your video 🤔
If you wanted to use them with other buildings, how difficult would it be to remove the snow theme? Or how easy would it be to apply the snow theme to other buildings?
Hi Tiago! Can you please make a chesterfield armchair tutorial in minifigure size? I tried a lot but couldn't find any solution for the iconic pattern :(
I bought the gingerbread house set in 2020 and I love it, although I haven’t unbox it 🤣 Life is busy and I want to build it only when I have long relaxing time at home during Christmas. I’m traveling this Christmas. I guess I’ll delay the joy for another year 😆
You say it was not hit by the pricing, but I'd argue that the fact that it is missing the light brick that always comes with the winter village sets and still costing the same might be due to the price changes?
The only thing I like about the set is the tram. Too bad they don't sell that separatley. I am probably gonna buy it for the tram and then use the rest for a future moc.
The set looks fine, but the toy shop should have been a new post office. Those early sets are ridiculously cost prohibitive for collectors, and Lego recently remade the winter toy shoppe. Easily fixable I suppose.
You know, you did forget one easter egg, the appearance of the steam train engine in the window of the toy shop. That engine, if I'm gauging my historical sets correctly, is a reference to classic, (and very expensive), Lego 12V Train Set 7750 Steam Engine. It becomes obvious when you consider the German color scheme of red wheels and black boiler/cab, plus the fact the train has is a 0-4-4-0 wheel arrangement in the toy shop mini model clearly sets it apart as the same engine as seen in Set 7750. Enjoy this fun easter egg. Rockatoa, brickticks out!
Hi Tiago, this video reminded me something I wanted to ask for so long: why did Lego abandoned the old rail sistem, with current passing through it? It was so much better in my opinion, leaving all train set free from battery pack and recharging issues...
This is great for people like me who put winter village sets below the Christmas tree with a train track encircling it! There’s not much space down there, so small buildings are better than the big ones in a lot of winter village sets. Unfortunately mine is already pretty crowded so I don’t think I even have room for those! My winter village has expanded as much as it can now.
Do you collect winter village sets? Buy. You’re looking into buying something at 100$ max, then I would go for the Tallneck. Maybe galaxy explorer though I have not built it yet
@@TiagoCatarino I don't as of yet. I got the Galaxy Explorer, it was a great bulid. As for Tall neck, I don't really play video games, so it's no fun for me. please do i lego christmas review for a christmas set
I neeed legos for my channel. Thanks for the content
I'm gonna order this set along with the winter village cottage, even though it's a retired set.
I still think the Gingerbread House from 2019 is the best winter village set. I heard the set designer is a pretty cool person 😉
I don’t know. I heard he’s a pretty terrible guy actually
@@TiagoCatarino damn that must suck
Gingerbread house raised the standard so high that the next Christmas village houses just feel underwhelming.
@@TiagoCatarinoman I have the set and it sucks 😂
2:53 The designers really love and miss you, Tiago!! ❤ Warms my heart to see that.
Great review!
I love the Minecraft honeycomb tile used as tacky 80's wallpaper in the kitchen! Great part reusage, and even better review!!

true. also you can buy track seperately. i find it good. no track to just throw in a bin as i have no use for the newer non 9v tracks.

I love this set, makes it much easier to build a “real” winter village
This set is so nice! I actually think it could be a great starting point for new fans of Winter Village

Yup the only negative I had for the gingerbread house was the fact the baby was a printed 1x2 piece.
Too be honest - I am soo excited for this set! I love the fact that you can motorize it. It's for me a big plus!
I think the little toy duck on the Santa's Toys and Games sticker might me a reference to how the Lego company started out making wooden ducks.
great review as always! that painting of the gingerbread house is really cool

Hey Again man, it's the Australian from yesterday... lol

At 2:48 there’s a repurposed LEGO Minecraft Honeycomb piece used as wallpaper. Just wanted to pint that out.
It's cheaper to buy the passenger train than the seperate items to make it powered up.

You say it was not hit by the pricing, but I'd argue that the fact that it is missing the light brick that always comes with the winter village sets and still costing the same might be due to the price changes?
That’s actually a very good point. I guess we would have to wait until next years release to see the trend of price/pieces/light brick
I love this set and want it soooo badly
Didn’t all Christmas edition sets use to require a light brick somewhere in the build?
Very cool and epic
cant wait to add my custom building mocs next to this main street! :)
The only thing I like about the set is the tram. Too bad they don't sell that separatley. I am probably gonna buy it for the tram and then use the rest for a future moc.
