Days Boat Trip To Reedham Village and Beccles Town.
Welcome to our 3-day boat trip. We started from Brundall Village, Norwich. A picturesque village on the River Yare, known for its boating facilities and scenic surroundings. The village has several boatyards and rental services that cater to tourists.
From Brundall, we set off on the River Yare, cruising through a landscape dotted with traditional Norfolk Broads cottages and lush greenery.
Travel southeast along the River Yare. The journey to Reedham takes us through lush countryside and peaceful waters.
Reedham Chain Ferry: One of the last remaining chain ferries in England, providing a unique crossing experience.
The scene of Reedham Village laid out before us was beautiful. A charming riverside village with traditional pubs and a lovely atmosphere.
We went to a pub for a beer and to watch football. This pub has views of the swing bridge. Normally the bridge is open to let ships pass, but sometimes it has to be closed when a train passes by.
We went to another, less crowded pub for dinner. The food was good with traditional British dishes.
After exploring Reedham, we continue our journey along the River Yare towards Beccles.
We follow the River Yare, which widens as we head southwards towards Beccles.
The landscape gradually shifts from the narrow, enclosed sections of the river to broader water views and expansive marshlands. This section of the river is characterized by larger waterways and scenic views of the Norfolk Broads’ natural beauty.
The journey to Beccles takes us through the heart of the Broads National Park, with plenty of opportunities to observe wildlife and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Beccles is a historic market town with a vibrant atmosphere. Known for its Georgian architecture, Beccles offers a range of attractions.
We have some drinks at a pub and then head to another restaurant for dinner.
We walk back from Beccles to the boat, to enjoy the sunset.
The next day we navigate back up the River Waveney, rejoining the River Yare towards Surlingham.
We loved the peaceful journey through the Norfolk Broads. We arrived at The Ferry House and had dinner there. It’s known for its excellent food and beautiful riverside setting.
The last day we headed back towards Brundall along the River Yare to finish our trip.
