We celebrated Memorial day on Sunday and I stitched all day Monday. I love that you and your husband take little get aways together. He seems like a keeper. 😊
Glad to hear you got to have a little mini vacation! You deserve it! I spent Memorial weekend with some friends and I also got started on a stitched piece for a friend's birthday.
I love all of your little adventures!! Especially that Clint joins you for all your junking lol. We took my grandson for his first trip to the beach. Went to Isle of Palms in Charleston and he loved it! He will be 1 on 2 weeks and was absolutely on his best behavior. ❤
I do too. We were young parents, and didn’t have much time together before the babies came. Now we travel each weekend we can to spend time together. We both enjoy it. Already a year? That year has went by fast. ❤️
We celebrated by going to south GA to visit our grandmas and mother in law! You mentioned several areas of my childhood stomping grounds! Thanks for sharing all your goods….look forward to seeing more! 😊
I love all your stitching Lori. So nicely done and such a wide variety. Our memorial day has been very peaceful. Just grilled some chicken and had some nice side dishes. 🌷🌺❤️💕🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you for your video. That flag came out very cute! I have that crow pattern, you make me want to start mine. I have never done a Mirabilia. But if I did I would do the one that's just a Ladies head surrounded by flowers. I went to my son's on Sunday, and we had barbecue. On Monday, I stitched, organized my stitching, and watched Marvel movies! Take care and happy stitching!
I spent some of the day starting HOD's Liberty Pennies and then we had a "cook in", as it was pouring outside so we couldn't have a cookout. lol Thanks so much for taking the time for your channel! I enjoy it so much!
I am so happy you had a great Memorial weekend! Beautiful projects you have going. This was a very hard weekend for me! My husband passed away unexpectedly 6 months ago so I spent time at his grave. My hope for you is that you get lots of stitching done this week.
Your weekend sounded lovely! We went to a wonderful Craft Festival in Rhode Island this weekend. The weather was glorious...warm, breezy ,sunny, with lilacs fragrance filling the air. Spring has finally arrived here in New England! The festival is in a lovely park with beautiful gardens as well as lots of inspiring Art & creative crafts... a delightful day! No antiques, but we did top it off with lobsta roll heading home. A great start to summer! Just have to put the air conditioners in before humidity hits, & we'll be all set. Great to get outside, so not too much stitching. Once it's hot, I'm back inside! Could you share how you cook your grits? I'm clueless!
We enjoyed a quiet day at home and I cleaned to prepare for some of our children to come for a visit tomorrow! Love your tomato pincushions and I am a SC girl too! (Lisa P.)
You were so close to where we live. We are in Blairsville Ga...not far from Helen. Just a little trip over Blood Mountain. I collect those pin cushions as well. We hung out with neighbors and cooked out. Great company and great food ❤
We spent our weekend celebrating my husbands 70th birthday. I also did a lot of stitching. Enjoyed seeing all your stitching projects. Have a good stitching week
Your stitching is lovely. I'm tempted to get the hobby lobby flag kit. We kicked off summer by hanging a new flag on a nearby tree and grilling with our youngest son.
Happy Memorial Day!! When you talk about spending time with your husband it is very comforting. I didn't go anywhere, but I did a lot of stitching. Have a good week!!!
You’re making good progress on your WIPS! The trip to the mountains sounded amazing and super relaxing! I think I’ve only had grits once or twice in my life maybe, are they similar to hash browns? I just recently picked up an old wooden jewelry box that I’m going to clean up and replace the inside felt to give it a new life. I thought of you and your junkin’ adventures! 🥰
Grits are ground corn. The consistency is similar to oatmeal. They are seasoned with salt, pepper, butter and sharp cheddar. We often add crumbled sausage, bacon and scrambled eggs to them.
Happy Memorial Day. Beautiful Stitching. I have not done anything. My mom recently passed away. Still feeling kind of lost, I guess. Have a terrific week.
I spent my weekend doing some finishing, since I realized my county fair is only 2 weeks away. I still have a stocking and a pillow to sew together and an ornament and flat fold to glue up. I have tomorrow and the next 2 weekends to get that done. Wish me luck.
I don’t have your luck in finding tomatoes. I only have two but hope to add more. Our Memorial Day weekend was quiet because we stayed home. I got in lots of walking and then the rains came. We saw several firework displays right from our front steps put on by local municipalities. It was nice to chill out this time instead of traveling and hurrying the weekend.
Your weekend sounded enjoyable. I spent Memorial Day visiting my husbands grave in the Veterans Cemetery, then came home and stitched more on my grandsons wedding sampler.
We didn’t do anything this weekend. I’ve had a lovely migraine for 2 days now, and the husband and boys are mowing as it’s supposed to storm again this week. This weather! I hope enjoyed your getaway.
@@mischievousstitches I’m in tornado alley and we get hit the hardest the end of May. We had 7 a couple nights ago perish just a jump away from me. Just awful!
French knots are my nemesis lol i use beads whenever they are called for. 🤷🏻♀️🤦♀️ very low key weekend here. Sunday was my first shot of 3 for my new MS med, then a monthly shot. Was sick all day Monday from first shot (but knew it would happen). 👍
French knots do take a bit of practice, I find them easy, yet some do a Colonial knot instead, as they are more uniformed as an end result. Frankenstein is a great fabric color. We did a BBQ, enjoyed picnic type foods, and later today will be chips & salsa and watermelon margaritas made by Me :)
Great advice on when to head….repetition is IMPORTANT when decimating information what a hoot “minus four” with a smirk….please share a “yellow grits” recipe if possible……with my husband in Vina my grown children plied me with a delightful clam in the shell pasta….
The mountains sound like a good place to be right now. Sometimes I’m not sure how to choose between the beach and the mountains. Both great places! I sent an email about the gingerbread cottages from a couple videos ago. Not sure if you received it or not. So just mentioning it here just in case 😊
On Memorial Day , I made a Quilt for a Veteran...I posted it on my Instagram...this is the 3 one I have made this year.....the I sewed tell 5:30 for Charity...I done....thank for sharing...please take care
Sounds like you had a wonderful adventure. I love your turtle necklace can I ask where you got it? I love turtles. I’m trying to stitch the flag kit from Hobby Lobby have broken two needles may pull my stitches out an try only two strands.
Sounds like you had a great weekend...hopefully relaxing. A question about grits, please. What is the difference between yellow and white grits? Is it the taste, the texture or something else? I would like to know. Thanks! Now on to watch your current video.
There’s a difference in the type of corn, and the milling process. Yellow grits are slightly more starchy, and have more of the corn taste. The ones I showed are also stone ground, which means they’re not as finely ground as the store bought grits. My husband says they’re more creamy, and I think that it’s the starch content that makes him think so.
We celebrated Memorial day on Sunday and I stitched all day Monday. I love that you and your husband take little get aways together. He seems like a keeper. 😊
We had a great time, but we always do. We’re high school sweethearts, and he’s my best friend. ❤️
Thanking you for spending your precious time with us. Happy Stitching! - Valerie
Thank you for visiting with me. ❤️

Lori don't feel bad my brain is always going south!😂 Your projects are looking beautiful! Have a great week!
It’s my focus, I don’t know where it’s gone. I guess I packed it away with one of my oldest WIPs. 🤣

1 I cleaned my carpets for Memorial Day to enjoy the weather
That is always worth the effort and it makes a home smell nice. ❤️
For Memorial Day weekend, I slept in, stayed home, and stitched! It was a real treat! Well, I did laundry today as well.
Sounds relaxing!

The weather…the hard storms usually hit us in March. May and June are short belly washers. This year is different…

The Clam Pasta sounds amazing! I will land to share the grits recipe soon.
Have a wonderful week. ❤️
If you like fresh fried fish, add cheese to your grits and try it with the fish, it sounds odd but tastes so good.
We eat it that way too. A favorite is Salmon Patty’s and grits, or with my Daddy’s fried Catfish. ❤️
