Very cool to hear how some drivers learned how to drive truck. Me it started when I was like 14 ,dad put me in truck with a driver on the job site. It was a KW 1954 with a 220 Cummings & a 4&5 ,yep two sticks.
Holy crap this guy's old man had some really nice trucks!!!! True American classics. I love when you talk to old school truckers and throw in pictures of these beautiful trucks. Awesome video Mike. Thanks for another great video. Merry Christmas ya filthy animal... And a happy new year.
@TheBostonTrucker the old stories are just so much fun to hear for me, you know, that's an era I didn't get to be part of. Not to mention the old guys with those stories aren't always going to be around to tell them. The truckin tales can live on here on RUclips!
Wonder if you realize how many people watch this channel that don't truck. I have reasons why I enjoy the channel but I'm not & never have been a trucker. Sure I'm not the only one. Thanks for all the content! Enjoy your holiday season!
Mike this was a great interview i remember seeing some of their trucks now i know the history. Ryan was very lucky to have grown up in that type of life he's a young guy with a old school trucking view thats something that is lost in todays trucking world that is so sad to see
This hits close to home for me. As a friend of Hank's I'm also one of the fortunate few who got to drive Hank's Highway Hilton, a couple times, and just before it went to it's new home in Iowa 80. I drove for KEM out of Binghamton NY in the mid 90's and went through NEPA on a daily basis, and always saw Parry trucks. They hauled Frito Lay out of Kirkwood NY, right near our terminal. Parry and all the other NEPA companies were a daily sight for us (Penns Best, Kane, Road Scholar, Bolus, Campos, and of course Parry). Good times back then. This brings back a lot of memories. Thanks Mike. I know Rob Parry, but never met Ryan.
Thanks for doing this interview, it's funny because every now and then I wonder what happened to Parry. I haul out of winchester and saw there trucks all the time back in 2000 to 01/02
He’s a great guy. I got to drive his truck when I was 16. Only had my permit for about 2 months and I drove it up 81, pulled pine grove probably overweight. Just over thanksgiving break, I had enough days off from work I was able to go to Mass and Virginia with him to pickup a couple cars.
Merry Christmas to you and yours Mike. By myself this Xmas eve, thanks for posting a video, as always something decent to watch.......... but you gotta straighten those stickers, lol. Be well Mike

I wonder how ole Highway Hank is doing. He hasn’t been active on his channel in like 11 years . I know the cabover is at the i80 museum now
Hank is a company driver for ICX.
Man that has drove it up that cab over Mack is the truck my dad had the dirty cartoon painted on the side pocket door 😅
Sounds like you've got some good memories of that truck!
