This video shows how to use the BabyBjörn Move carrier on its smallest setting to carry a newborn baby. The carrier used to demo with is the BabyBjörn Move 3D Mesh Baby Carrier in Anthracite

Thank you! This video is much more helpful than the actual Baby Bjorn demo vid. I have my carrier together now and can actually use it haha.
So pleased it was helpful to you! Enjoy lots of snuggles with your little one!
Thank you for the video - very helpful & well explained!!
You're welcome! Glad it was helpful to you 🙂
How do you make it more or an ‘m’ for hip safety?
If you watch towards the end of the video - 06:48 - you'll see I adjust the tighteners either side of the carrier, above the legs. This helps to bring the knees up. At 07:51 I also show how to bring the fabric round into their knees. Ensuring you support baby in an ergonomic position before you bring the back panel up will help too.
This will be perhaps a unusual question, but would this be a nice carrier for a baby-doll dad who has special needs?
Hi! Thanks for your question. Can you clarify what a baby-doll dad is and also, if it’s ok, let me know a bit more about the special needs?
@@SouthEastSlings sure ! the mildy disabled dad with down syndrome has wish to be a dad, so we gave him a baby-doll, he is chuffed about it, and we want to give him a carrier to carry his Dolly
hope this clarifies stuff
@@maximusheronimus23980 Great - thank you! That's such a lovely idea.
So yes, I've had a few parents with down syndrome who've found the clips on the Baby Bjorn work well for them. I would suggest you probably don't need the Move - or even a brand new one. The Baby Bjorn Original will work nicely and can generally be picked up very reasonably pre-loved. The clips are the same on the Original as on the Move and the Mini. Providing the doll isn't hugely heavy (as the Original isn't as supportive on the back as other models) that will work nicely. I hope that helps!
@@SouthEastSlings thanks we will look into it ! the back harness looks perfect for "DollyDad" because of getting in by himself, again thanks !
How high should the waist level be
This is determined by your build and how long your baby is. You want to ensure baby's head is on your upper chest so they have clear airways. If they are taller, the waistband will end up lower on your torso than if they're smaller
@@SouthEastSlings how do I adjust the waist band correctly? It slips and end up lower due to the weight of baby . Shoulder straps falling lower and hence waist band lower wtc
@@garylim5600 When you put it on, make sure that the straps are all tightened up securely against your body. So the waist strap tightened and the straps that have the front clipped tightened. It should all be snug against you.
Ensure the clips that sit either side of baby's head are high up on your upper chest. You want them to be slightly higher than baby's head.
Make sure that's all snug against you, with the clips in the correct position, before you pick baby up.
Then hold baby with their bottom just covering the two 'circle' clips in the centre.
@@SouthEastSlings can I ask, how do u know where to adjust the back straps? Adjust till where? Also the straps that is detachable, how do u know where to adjust till (there’s a measuring tape at back of that strap).
@@garylim5600 The triangular panel on the back can be moved up and down. You want this adjusted so it feels comfortable on you and the straps sit flat against your back.
You can tighten it by pulling the straps either side forwards.
The piece with the measuring tape you adjust so that the top edge of it comes no higher than the nape of baby's neck. For a newborn you'll generally want it on the shortest setting. As baby grows you can lengthen it, to grow with baby.
If you'd like some in-person help, feel free to book a 15 minute video call as it's often easier to demonstrate and describe these things in person than when typing 🙂
Worst baby item I purchased. As a first time mum, it feels like you need a quantum physics degree to set this up. Baby Bjorn have naff instructions and it will sit in a box and chalk up to be a big waste of money.
Sorry to hear this carrier didn't work for you. Carriers really are like jeans - they fit different people differently. It's why it's so helpful to try a few out at a Sling Library or similar beforehand. I'm not affiliated to any brand - I'm a babywearing consultant who works with parents to help them find the right carrier for them and their little one. I make my videos to help people use them - either after having had help from me, or if they're not able to access in-person help locally.
