I totally agree. I personally think that a static leader looks very lazy and as if only one person is dancing. I introduce my own turns and mix up Lindy moves with swing jive moves to make sure that I am dancing too!
I think the third track is Bill Darnell, "A Million Thanks" - there's an aircheck around of an Alan Freed broadcast from WINS in 1955 and he plays this one. Great video!
