Isn't it nuts that they put out all the music you have listened to so far (group wise) in their first year? This was released August 2014 so about 13/14 months after their debut. It's so hard to wrap my head around how BUSY BTS was in comparison to some of the other artists I've been used to listening to up until this point.

2nd Grade is such an underrated song. As well as being a banger the entire concept of the song is so clever: using the metaphor of moving up a grade in school to describe their experience in their second year in the kpop industry. Although it's a very fun song, the subject matter is pretty serious (as is the case with a LOT of BTS songs lol this is why reading the lyrics is essential) and I'm so proud of them for overcoming the disproportionate amount of hatred and prejudice they received as a hip hop idol group from a very small company.

The way it showcased their maturing sounds, shifting musicality, blending of genres, intricate lyricism with a cohesive subject matter is truly something to appreciate! Made more incredible when you put it in context and realize this was 1 year into their debut and was made with their sweat and tears (as showcased in AHL). Personally the first half of the album is more to my taste than the second but I can't deny how it showed the way they could excel at all in different ways. Can't wait to dive back into the rest of this era with you!

Yes, the album is a gem. What a production. My favorite is "Look here" cause it is so much fun and such a great rythm and Cypher 3 is amazng. But all the songs are soooooo gooooood. Impressive how the whole album can sound so fresh and good even after 9-10 years of being written and produced. They are music geniuses

This may be my favorite album of theirs. The first time I heard it, I went wild too, it's so timeless. And definitely in my top 5 BTS songs is War of Hormones, it's such a jam! Confession time, i totally lost the rock paper scissors.

Okay Last Part , lets start with comment, this may not be as long as the others. Sometimes I go through these albums just to listen to one aspect of music, like I will just listen to the ad libs, or try to pick out the instruments and figure out what they sound like compared to other songs like finding lil families within their music with shared characteristics. This is good for creating playlists. Never have I ever paid so much attention to lyrics than with BTS so its fun to pick Joon's brain on lyrical content, with the hidden (or not so hidden) metaphors and things. Yoongles is pretty straight forward story teller and Jhope kills his cadence switch ups. I cant believe they thought this album failed, I mean comparatively I guess in the market at the time but this album is the one alot of us go back to because its what you said, its refreshing. Authentic and almost like you can feel them actively searching for who they are, this is more apparent when you see that the next album starts the new era, Dark and Wild was a transitional album between the two trilogies. It has some of the aspects of love like you mentioned just with a different perspective, its still young, its them and its what they are going through but there is still a song on the album for every kind of fan. Kpop fans had no idea how to appreciate albums or productions to be honest, title tracks are their bread and butter. Basically how general public listen to the radio and America's TOP 40 playlists...they dont really care too much. BTS cares. ARMY cares. Music Lovers should care about the MUSIC! THIER MUSIC IS TIMELESS! it does not matter when 24/7 = heaven pops up in my playlist...... a song from 2014 like thats completely fine, thank you.

This may be my favorite album of theirs. The first time I heard it, I went wild too, it's so timeless. And definitely in my top 5 BTS songs is War of Hormones, it's such a jam! Confession time, i totally lost the rock paper scissors.

Okay Last Part , lets start with comment, this may not be as long as the others.
Sometimes I go through these albums just to listen to one aspect of music, like I will just listen to the ad libs, or try to pick out the instruments and figure out what they sound like compared to other songs like finding lil families within their music with shared characteristics. This is good for creating playlists. Never have I ever paid so much attention to lyrics than with BTS so its fun to pick Joon's brain on lyrical content, with the hidden (or not so hidden) metaphors and things. Yoongles is pretty straight forward story teller and Jhope kills his cadence switch ups.
I cant believe they thought this album failed, I mean comparatively I guess in the market at the time but this album is the one alot of us go back to because its what you said, its refreshing. Authentic and almost like you can feel them actively searching for who they are, this is more apparent when you see that the next album starts the new era, Dark and Wild was a transitional album between the two trilogies. It has some of the aspects of love like you mentioned just with a different perspective, its still young, its them and its what they are going through but there is still a song on the album for every kind of fan. Kpop fans had no idea how to appreciate albums or productions to be honest, title tracks are their bread and butter. Basically how general public listen to the radio and America's TOP 40 playlists...they dont really care too much. BTS cares. ARMY cares. Music Lovers should care about the MUSIC!
