The problem with the Lakers roster, the leader is old and slow. Every players including AD follow Lebron and when Lebron decides not to play full throttle, others stop as well then we get to see that kind of game. Like if AD can at least step up, we could see something different, and he does step up when Lebron doesn't play. But when that game Lebron plays, AD automatically becomes the 2nd guy. It's just shame that AD mental isn't like Giannis every games. Got the body and the skills, but not the mind. If and when Lebron decides to retire, need to trade AD whether he wants to stay or not.

There is nothing wrong with the Lakers. Their ceiling is 5, 6, or 7 seed. That exactly is where they are and are on pace to finish at. Now if a team like the Celtics had dropped to the 6th seed you could say something is wrong given their personnel. But the Lakers are on par given the players they have.

It’s so crazy after the past couple of games I don’t have the excitement for the game for the first time in a long time. I might not even watch tonight. This is not Laker basketball, maybe I’m too dramatic, but after seeing all the Laker legends and these guys come out playing like they did, I realized how much I miss my Lakers that played their behinds off every single game. The players we have now are just in it for the paycheck, no heart
It certainly feels that way. I've been having to temper my expectations and prepare for a loss to avoid disappointment. And even when they win, it either feels meaningless, or like we still didn't play well down the stretch. I've even gotten to where I watch the games on delay so I can look ahead at the score when we're losing (which seems like the majority of the time) in order to deal with the discomfort of being behind and waiting for a comeback, and it definitely takes away from the excitement, but eases the blow.

Wemby is going to shoot over anyone that guards him out there, just put a smaller player on him and stay in front of him to force that outside shot. I definitely think the current events affected their focus, even JJ. He's been great using timeouts to stem runs, but was Ham-esque on Monday night.

Why wouldn’t lakers trade Austin for Lavine? If we have Lavine than Austin right now, I think we would much better team. Lavine wouldn’t be picked on the defensive end and Lavine would bring much better efficient offense. Reaves is not getting any better. Trade Austin, rui and vando and JHS for Lavine and Craig. Go get a big and sign Dennis Smith Jr. this will boost our defense and offense. Holding onto Austin is dumb if we are going all in. He is not “him” and he is not our future star. My problem with lakers players and former players is if your not Nate Robinson size where you just flat out physically can’t stop elite players then there’s no way you should just be having teams go at you all game. Being at least 6’5” and not being able to get a stop on players your size, a little smaller than you or even a little bigger than you is a decision. It’s a lack in effort. It’s like lakers players say “ oh I’m classified as a bad defender so here take whatever shot you want” teams don’t even go at kyrie Irving like that. Or any other players
Same problem as before. LBJ doesn't play defense. He basically wants to play center on defense just standing under the basket. And you can't have that if you're going to switch a lot because switching calls for rotations. And we are definitely going to have to switch a lot because AR can't cover anyone at the point of attack. So either move AR to the bench and trade for a better point guard or bench Lebron..
I think the right move is to trade Rui for Bruce Brown. Brown should be able to be ready health wise by the playoffs. Brown also is a defensive player first with championship experience and in LA that counts for a lot especially when any one who comes here gets startled by the bright lights offensively . He’s for now a safe net for Max can play with Max or even eventually take his spot in a high stake playoff line up
You realize he takes breaks on D because the lalers rely on him heavily on offense? We see when the supporting cast has it going lebron playmakes and focuses on defense then turns up his scoring if needed in the 2nd half. Issue is the Lakers need lebron to carry the load on offense every single night.

Why wouldn’t lakers trade Austin for Lavine? If we have Lavine than Austin right now, I think we would much better team. Lavine wouldn’t be picked on the defensive end and Lavine would bring much better efficient offense. Reaves is not getting any better. Trade Austin, rui and vando and JHS for Lavine and Craig. Go get a big and sign Dennis Smith Jr. this will boost our defense and offense. Holding onto Austin is dumb if we are going all in. He is not “him” and he is not our future star. Trade him when we can get someone good for him.

This reminds me of the 90's Lakers teams with Shaq, Kobe, Van Exel and Eddie Jones all over again. Mediocre to good, but not great by any stretch; always middle of the pack and making the Playoffs then getting swept in the First or Second Round by a superior team. We never made it all the way until Phil Jackson left the Bulls dynasty and gave the Lakers an effective system in 99-00 when Shaq won (nearly) unanimous MVP, went 67-15, and won the first of 3 Chips

No one in Lakers media, except maybe Bill Plaschke, will say it.. but Lebron and AD simply DO NOT inspire their teammates. The troops are simply not rallying around them on a consistent basis. My problem with lakers players and former players is if your not Nate Robinson size where you just flat out physically can’t stop elite players then there’s no way you should just be having teams go at you all game. Being at least 6’5” and not being able to get a stop on players your size, a little smaller than you or even a little bigger than you is a decision. It’s a lack in effort. It’s like lakers players say “ oh I’m classified as a bad defender so here take whatever shot you want” teams don’t even go at kyrie Irving like that. Or any other players
Same problem as before. LBJ doesn't play defense. He basically wants to play center on defense just standing under the basket. And you can't have that if you're going to switch a lot because switching calls for rotations. And we are definitely going to have to switch a lot because AR can't cover anyone at the point of attack. So either move AR to the bench and trade for a better point guard or bench Lebron..

I think the right move is to trade Rui for Bruce Brown. Brown should be able to be ready health wise by the playoffs. Brown also is a defensive player first with championship experience and in LA that counts for a lot especially when any one who comes here gets startled by the bright lights offensively . He’s for now a safe net for Max can play with Max or even eventually take his spot in a high stake playoff line up
