Tbh that terran player was pretty darn suspicious, especially around the end. Kept moving straight toward the 4 new bases that RuFF had taken seems like he had map hacks but no skills.
Yeah. Thors are supposed to be "a giant that slays other giants." But it doesn't really serve that purpose. Thors are great against Mutas, corruptors, and brood lords. But they really don't do well against Carriers, Tempests, or Battle Cruisers without Ravens for support. And Thors get killed by immortals and disruptors. If Thors are really supposed to slay giants, they need a redesign to make them less reliant on Ravens.
What do you mean? Thors kick the shit out of all the massive units, it's not supposed to run around without any support (just like you don't want a single Broodlord to fly around). And a Thor actually beats an Immortal with even upgrades in a 1-on-1 fight. Every unit has units that are good and bad against it, that's just how the game works. Thors don't rely on Ravens, they rely on not being the only unit in your army. You can't just make 1 unit and expect it to beat everything, that's not how the game works if you're not significantly better than your opponent.

They Should focus the carriers instead. Thors are a great unit, your examples make no sense. Any unit that gets caught out of position can get surrounded and killed, it's not a Thor exclusive. Them being slow is also no problem when you remember that they can get picked up by Medivacs and boosted around

Maybe its just me (coz i am in diamond with my terran) but every time i make bc, i get overjoyed when i see the opponent making thors. Its like "thanks for giving the game to me". They are so slow and i can destroy everything then just teleport on top of the thors and yamato them down (or even double yamato thors in the outskirts of his clumsy army). Am I totally wrong here? Coz in my experience BC > Thor, every game i have played in TvT
For lower ranks like diamond and below it all comes down to who's the agressor really. If you make BC's to defend against Thors (I am talking you're defending your base and fighting in this example) they are gonna kick your teeth in if they're in High-Impact mode and you'll lose every game against them. On the contrary, if you run around them and attack your opponents base, never fighting the Thors head-on unless they are in lower numbers like Ruff did or you describe to do and the Thors just do nothing all game as they're busy chasing BC's then you'll win every game vs them. Thor>BC is only true for straight up fights with the Thors in single-target firing mode. Pig also gives a lot of examples on how Ruff could've (should've) died. If his opponent identified/accepted a basetrade sooner for example, he could've easily won the game at multiple times. If he didn't pull home at 18:00 there's another easy win. So you're not totally wrong, but not really right either. Any unit is bad if it just runs around like a headless chicken ;)
You're supposed to throw like 8 Thors into your main army so it can't be flanked by BCs, and then defend with Vikings and a couple more thors so they can't raid either. Then you just win the game because the opponent has like 60 supply of dead weight.
and this is my case in point for why ravens aren't optional in higher leagues. matrix the BCs so they can't jump home, obliterate them, then walk across and win the game. and that shitty sim city is why Ora should have gone bio instead, 🤣 you cannot play mech and have everything so tightly packed. You'll just get picked apart like this if you do.
