The vanilla flowers have to be pollinated by hand in those farms because the bees that pollinate the vanilla flowers in the wild only live in Mexico (melipona bee), the vanilla plants were transported everywhere but nobody took the bees with them 😂

I looked it up and apparently scientists think that that bee isn't the real pollinator of the vanilla. I wonder why is there still doubt about the natural pollinators of vanilla, there are still wild populations of vanilla in Mexico! someone has to look closer 🤔

I grow vanilla in my garden. It’s considered “difficult and slow growing plant” if you grow regular plants. It’s also considered as “an easy and fast growing plant” if you grow tropical species or orchids. They like humidity but don’t tolerate soaking wet leaves very well. My vanilla is still small but it often has new leaves.
I have one on my windowsill. I was really interested in growing it out and harvesting it until I read about the details of actually processing the beans.

I'm pretty sure most of those money go to the large resellers in the world and none reach the actual bare feet workers on the field. You know, like with any other reality of farming whatever you can think of. 🤷♂
Buy the beans and make an endless amount of your own vanilla extract. You can use different alcohols. Spiced rum is really wonderful. Use a few beans to make some Vanilla Sugar if you want to up your baking game. Seriously, it changes Everything!

Nope no fragrance during that time. Slight Fragrance will come when pod gets ripened and full fragrance will come during drying the pod. It will be there for an year on clothes also which used for drying.

Those arnt fruits...they are seed pods...that powder..is the seeds...all orchids have seeds like that...micro seeds.
